Perhaps he over thought it after seeing what happened to the Vikings the drive before. Gould was 5 for 5 between 40-49 so it wasn't that bad of an idea.
-
Welp, at least I just dropped 217 points in the talkbears league. Who's Domination Inc.? gotta suck for you to put up 170+ and still lose by 40.
-
really had nothing to do with the length though. He "shanked" it. Dude came a few yards from hitting a 66 yarder, you'd think a 47 yarder would be a gimme.
-
Man I was just waiting for another Bama/Auburn moment.
-
Sigh, a Cutler-esque move right there by McCown.
-
Marshall/Jeffery duo up to 2051 yards with 4.25 games to go. Can anyone find the all time record for most yards by a WR duo?
-
You've gotta be bleeping me Alshon...That was incredible! Wish he brought the ball down like that in the Detroit game.
-
Alshon Jeffrey is such a monster. Marshall needs just 25 more yards this game and the Bears will have 2 1000 yard receivers with 4 more weeks to go.
-
I tend to agree, but stranger things have happened. If he would have came back next week and they won out they would be 9-6-1, Bears and Lions could easily both lose 2 games down the stretch making them 9-7.

AP was held in check for the most part in the first game with just 100 yards on 26 carries, including 1 for 36 yards, so his other 25 went for just 3 YPC. Collins and Melton only had 4 tackles in that game so they didn't play a major part in containing AP. Here's to hoping they just continue have APs number. I'm gonna say 24-21 Bears.... In other news, Rodgers might be out for the season, so this could most definitely be a 2 horse race.

Just watched the Minnesota/Michigan ST. game. Hageman looked rather unimpressive, still like him but my hard on for him has just turned a little soft. Mr. No Fly Zone, Darqueze Denard, however, continued t look incredible....CBS has him as a 2nd round pick, but Walterfootball has him going 26th overall, which I think is far more realistic. After watching those 2 in the same game I'm now on the Mr. No Fly Zone in the first train.

Speaking of the defense...Ratliff is expected to play this week. Haven't heard anything about Paea yet, but it sure would be nice to get him out there too so they can then move Wootton back to DE which I think would be a HUGE help against the run. EDIT- Paea is expected to play as well. Here's hoping that the majority of the time we throw out a Wootton-Ratliff-Paea-Peppers front 4.

:cheers Cheers all....I give thanks to all you schmucks here...Sometimes you guys drive me insane, but with out this place and soxtalk, I'd be insane all the time.

Was thinking about this earlier in the week and it was just brought up on Waddle and Silvy. Who would you rather win tomorrows game? You'd think the obvious answer is that you want the Packers to win because it'd mean a Bears W means they're in first place. But, a Lions victory all but knocks the Packers, who will be getting Rodgers back in a week(maybe), out of the playoffs. Really not sure which way I'd wanna go here.

I wouldn't mind Melton back, I just think some of the high priced guys, I still think he'll demand 5-6M, gotta go. The ACL also just scares me a bit. Maybe it's because of the Rose injury. Though I think he should be getting the vet minimum, there's no way Peppers accepts it. Griz, I'd really like them to go to a 3-4 but I doubt it happens. Ratliff probably returns against Dallas...

It's a boring slow morning for this guy so I wanna compile my realistic "Fantasy defense". First, I'm gonna go ahead and let Jennings and Melton walk, then also release Peppers to save money(I plan on franchising Cutler)... I'm gonna sign Jarius Byrd(9M) and Martellus's brother Michael Bennett(6M) Then in the draft... 1RD- Ra'Shede Hageman/Louis Nix DT....I'm actually liking Hageman more than Nix at this point. 2RD- Darqueze Denard CB Mich ST...Been watching "Mr. No Fly Zone" the last few weeks and I think he's gonna be a stud. 3RD- LaMarcus Joyner CB/S FLA ST...Gives them flexibility to either keep Tillman at CB or move him to safety. I think Tillman stays at CB. 4th- Beau Allen DT WIS- A big boy to compete with Paea. DE-Bennett-Bass DT-Hageman-Collins DT-Paea-Allen DE-Wootton-SMC LB- Briggs-Bostic-Williams CB-Tillman-Denard-Frey-Hayden Safety- Byrd-Joyner
-
I sure wouldn't want to see Cutler on the Vikes...Let them take the risk in the draft.

Agreed. It was just a really well designed play that was executed magnificently by one of the fastest players in the league. Can't really blame Shae for pursuing him that direction. Don't get me wrong with this post and the last one in this thread, I'm far from a Shae fan. Like I said in another thread, he's a 3rd down pass rusher that is being forced to play every down due to injuries. He could have a place on the team but he cant be expected to play everydown.
-
That was one loss, not 2/3 of the starting D. The "excuses" are legit.
-
I certainly can buy it, and I can't grasp why people can't. Like I said, it's pretty much a 2nd string defense. Peppers, Jennings, Anderson, and the awful safties are the only remaining starters out there. One of those guys got hit by father time, and another is being paid less than a million dollars. I don't believe a complete rebuild is needed. Just need a couple healthy DTs, Wootton to be moved back outside, and a couple new safeties.
-
Injuries to the extent of the Bears though? The only area that hasn't been hurt by injuries this season is safety, and that wasn't good to begin with. I know it's obvious to everyone but I'll point it out anyway. DT has obviously been severely hit with Melton, Collins, Paea, and to an extent you can lump Sedrick Ellis in there as well. The injuries there have caused DE to be compromised by forcing a guy who could be an every down DE, Corey Wootton, inside to play DT, while forcing a 3rd down DE, SMC, to be more of a every down DE, which neither are those guys are. The LB position is missing the best player on the defense in Lance Briggs, and a starting MLB in DJ Williams. And the CB position is missing Tillman, and to a perhaps lesser extent Kelvin Hayden, haven't noticed whether or not Frey has played well or not in Haydens absense. They're basically throwing out a whole 2nd string defense, it doesn't surprise me one bit that they're playing epicly awful.
-
Agree overall except for 2 points. You say you don't care about injuries, as if they should be good despite injury, which I totally disagree with. And also, if you think Jay is the long term QB you've gotta put him out there when he says he's healthy. Sitting him on the bench the rest of the way might detour him away from wanting to resign.

ye have little faith.
