TerraTor...Most useless poster on talkbears. =p

Ratliff has practiced on a limited basis so I wouldn't be surprised if he played next week, but I'd say he def wants to be back for the Dallas game. Trestman said Briggs was a couple weeks away earlier in the week so hopefully he's back by the Cowboys game as well.
-
Only thing that will help the defense is if Jay Ratliff somehow plays at a pro bowl level. Couple that with a Briggs return and it should look a little better.
-
Ugliest game of the year.
-
These big Bears receivers make life so easy for whoever is back there at QB, I love it.
-
His backup is Craig Steltz...nuff said.
-
Welp, this might be the "shootout" I was questioning whether or not McCown can win. Win this one Josh and I'm ready to say bye bye to Cutler in 2014.
-
Oh ya, Jay is without question the QB once he's healthy. I was talking about next year, which I'm still iffy on even Josh goes off tomorrow.
-
This may be the game that pushes me to the "Let Jay walk, resign Josh, and draft a QB" side of things. These guys can really get after the QB. Bushrod and Mills will have their hands full, I'm sure we'll see a lot of Eben Britton in this game.

2 things. Josh has still not seen the type of pressure Jay has seen in some of his games this year. That first game against the Lions where he had the 3 picks he was absolutely terrorized the whole game. That was really his only real bad game....This Sunday Josh will finally face a really good pass rush, so it'll be interesting to see how he does. I know I said this last week but with the field conditions the way they were I think it was tough to get at the QB (Josh was hit just 3 times, Flacco just twice). Another thing is, can McCown win the shootouts against good defenses? That too has yet to be seen. The Kyle Orton/Alex Smith type "Game managers" work when you have a top flight defense but when your defense struggles, and you're playing a team like the Saints, those game managers won't survive in a shootout. Is Josh more than that? I'm not so sure about that.

He'll be starting again next week.....Rams can get after the passer, should be a good test for him.

is anyone worried about losing twice to the lions

Detroits a good football team IMO. Undisciplined, but good. Both games though were winnable though. If they had any sort of defense in the first game they win that game. No way they should lose a game in which they score 30+. Then in the 2nd game if either A. Jeffery catches the the touchdown in the middle of the field B. He pulls down and controls the ball in the corner or C. Suh doesn't get his big paw on that ball the Bears win that game as well....But that's football folks. All that being said, and perhaps getting back to the real item here, their schedule is undoubtedly the weakest between them and the Bears so I think it's very possible they still win the division. -
Jordan Lynch, from what I've heard, is basically this years Tim Tebow, only smaller and he's put up his numbers vs inferior opponents. Now I know I can't knock him on that last part because I just suggested they draft Garoppalo but Jimmy has more of an NFL body and a better, more accurate arm. As someone who was on board with bringing Tebow in I can't go back on that type of player. Wouldn't hate him in the 6th round(CBS currently has him as an undrafted player) All in all I want the Bears to wait till at least the 3rd round to draft their QB, and I wouldn't hate to see them wait till the 6th. I've got another guy I like in the 6th though. Quickly throwing together an ideal mock here.... 1- Bradley Roby CB OSU - His stock has fallen ever so slightly and it will benefit the Bears 2- LaMarcus Joyner/Dion Bailey FS FSU/USC- I like both of these guys so whoever is there snatch em up and send Conte packing. 3- Jaylen Watkins CB/S FLA - Versatile coverage player who has excelled at both positions. Can either replace Wright or play corner. 4- Daniel McCullers DT Tenn- I know I supported Paea earlier but we could use another monster to rotate and push Paea. 5- James Gayle DE VT- Even after the big game by Pep I'm still cutting him loose, Gayle is depth. If he puts on some more size he could be a monster 6- L'Damian Washington WR Mizzu- 6'4" with 4.3 speed, but he's a bad route runner. Fine tune that and he could be a beast. 6- Casey Pachall QB TCU- Had a drug problem at TCU but from what I read that's been cleared up. "Lighning quick release, big, accurate arm"....Could be a steal.

No thanks on a QB in the first, or even the 2nd. We've seen Josh friggin McCown have success in this system, I say franchise Jay and grab a QB in the mid rounds, maybe a Jimmy Garoppallo or a David Fales.
-
SAn Frisky goes down. If Carolina goes down tomorrow there will be 5 6-4 teams shooting for 3 playoff spots.
-
Im drunk...youre right...right game, wrong team
-
Add Peppers and the OL to the good. I think McCown had the cleanest jersey out there.
-
Can't wait to get that MartyB jersey for Xmas. Glad McCown finally decided to throw one up for the big guys and it paid off. Now C'mon Pats/San fran!
-
way to jinx it lol

I wouldn't go that far...That Saints team gave up 440ypg...this team is giving up 379 which is not even last in the league this year....but ya, its baddd.
-
Fair enough, as evidence by last year they can still stop the run with him as the starting NT. I wouldn't mind an upgrade but NT is probably 4th or 5th on the list of needs behind the 3T DT, S, CB, and maybe even DE.
-
Chico has them playing lights out defense. Only giving up 12PPG. Ya, the high wind kinda sucks because I was hoping to see what Josh can do against a good defense, but I think the wind will be a legit "excuse" if the passing game struggles.
-
Can someone relay what Tom Thayer said about him? Like I said my video isn't working. Don't know what you guys expect out of a nose tackle in a 4-3 defense.
-
You're looking at DTs as a whole, like I said, nose tackles don't put up big numbers...For example, Pat Williams, who is one of the better 4-3 nose tackles of the last decade has only put up more than the 2.5 sacks Paea got last year 1 time in his career(3 his rookie season) and he's been playing on the same line with Jared Allen....Last year Tampa was 2nd against the run(using them because they run a 4-3) and their NT had a grand total of 24 tackles and no sacks. The Bears also implement a rotation on the DL so he doesn't play every snap, so his numbers are watered down from that as well. Is Paea replaceable? Ya, sure. Is nose tackle even in the top 3 of our defensive concerns? not at all. Bears have much bigger concerns starting right next to him at the 3-technique and then all over the secondary. Don't forget, it was just last year that the bears were in the top 10 against the run and Stephen Paea was our starting NT. In closing, they're far from "in deep shit", or whatever colorful language you used, if they have to play Paea at NT.

There were 4 or 5 players in the area where the ball was tipped. Had to swap computers so I'm rockin a really old one ATM and it was taking forever, but I've got the game recorded and watching it frame by frame and I believe that very well could have been a touchdown. Bennett was open. At the very least it might have been thrown behind him and the Bears get a field goal that would have been the difference..That's a pass you make all day, you can't think about a Dlineman getting his big paw up there and changing the flight of the ball. The Marshall play I'm still iffy on since I don't know what the play can was. Marshall, even after looking back, slows up on the play a bit, side stepping almost, and he was just a step away from making that grab. Nfl network is showing it again right now, the Marshall play will happen around 1145. Record it or watch it and you'll see what I mean. And whatever on that last little comment. Excuse me for using an analytical database that our gm uses to base my decision on a player.
