  1. Jay Cutler-Damned if ya do, damned if ya don't. This is the same fan base that has called Jay a pussy in the past, and some of the same fan base that got on Derrick Rose for not playing when he was medically cleared.
  2. Excellent post, and I agree. I'm a younger fan(26) and I can agree that Cutler is the best we've had in my lifetime. I know fantasy production is a little different than real life production, but it's a decent measuring stick, and Cutler was the 6th ranked QB in all of fantasy. Cutler is probably gonna throw a pick or 2 today, I can almost guarantee it, Bears fans are almost surely to overreact to them and it's going be realllly annoying.
  3. Well, you said he wasn't NFL caliber and I simply pointed out that he's still in the NFL, thus you are wrong and we'll leave it at that. And SMC had 3 sacks and injured Aaron "Ironman" Rodgers. While "One game does not a season make" as you so elegantly put it, apparently 1.5 games does....If you think McCown would go the whole season without throwing a pick you'd be sadly mistaken. As I pointed out in the McCown thread, Jay has had no interceptions as well, and against much better defenses...Including the 4th ranked Saints. I didn't forget about the Packers, I just brought up last nights game while I was on the subject. Packers D is 18th against the pass to begin with and they were missing 3 of their 4 starting LBs including the heart of their D Clay Matthews. I'm not saying I haven't been impressed with Josh, I certainly have, I'm just saying the people who would be pining for McCown after Jay does something wrong be silly.
  4. Lol you musta missed the Minnesota game yesterday, announcers brought up Webbs name a few times and he was even highlighted. Didn't give up a single QB hit. Lol and while were talking last nights game did you see Ponder and Cassel complete 21 of 27 passes against that tough Washington D? Man, those guys are goood, that's a higher percentage than McCown completed against them!! Maybe we should try to get one of those guys to start!!
  5. Thing is, Marshall was predicting he'd be back in 2 weeks before Josh put up good numbers against a mediocre defense. So it's not like all of a sudden he's healthy because of Josh's success.
  6. Sigh, that will be like when Broncos/Jets fans were chanting for Tebow. I kinda wish McCown was starting this week. I don't think he would have had a good game against a team like Detroit who is going to get pressure up the middle.
  7. The thing is Jay has also put up games comparable, or better than McCown this year and against better teams. Jay... CMP ATT YDS CMP% AVG LNG TD INT QBR RAT vs NO24 33 358 72.7 10.85 58 2 0 62.3 128.1 (#4 pass defense) vs NY24 36 262 66.7 7.28 30 2 0 88.9 106.5 (#12) Josh... vs GB 22 41 272 53.7 6.63 33 2 0 77.5 90.7 (#18 and they were missing their 2 best pass rushers (Matthews/Perry) and another pretty good one in Brad Jones.) (Washington is 27th ranked against the pass) Jay has had a passer rating higher than 90 all but one game...Something only he and Peyton Manning can say. I would have liked to have seen what Josh would have done against Detroit when there's sure to be more pressure up the middle. The sample size is just wayyy to small to call McCown > Cutler.

    Help me out!

Ya, I just looked into it and the language I'm seeing is rather vague, or I'm just not understanding it. I think I'll cover my ass, take it down and email that address at the end just to make sure. I've got a pretty sweet new design that's flawless, and looks good on the Navy blue.....I'll post it in a little bit

    Help me out!

Hmmm all of a sudden, when trying to make a navy shirt, they're saying the image has over 10 colors....don't know how when I'm using the same image.

    Help me out!

to teespring?? ya, I think thats what I did, I had the background clipped out in every picture and saved it with a transparent background. It's my first time using the site but I've messed around with PS for years.

    Help me out!

Ya, I actually said on soxtalk that if i get a few people who don't like the orange I'd make another one in a different color. I actually vectorized the whole thing first and those spots between Alshons arms weren't there, the problem is with teespring. I had the whole background transparent in PS but when you upload it there's still a white background that you have to click on spots to make it transparent. I spent a good 30-40 minutes just on those 2 spots and for whatever reason they wouldn't go away. I do appreciate the offer to help though. Thanks!

    Help me out!

http://teespring.com/MOTM Just put this bad boy together and can use some of your guys help getting them printed. I need to sell 20 before they can be printed! Let me know if you buy one so I can thank you!! Gonna try to get one of those 3 guys to tweet out the address so we can make this happen. (kinda bummed I couldn't get the whites out between Alshons arms but I still think it looks pretty sweet.)
  13. And 8th in Completion%, just 1.3% away from being in the top 5. I truly do believe it's the "system". When the OL holds up, and they did, I think any competent QB with an accurate arm is gonna have success. Especially when you're throwing to the new monsters of the midway. If Jay doesn't come back Sunday It'd be real interesting to see how Josh does against the Lions who got to Jay quite a bit in the first game.
  14. SMC may have injured Rodgers, if he's out for the game and the Bears win I won't say a bad word about him the rest of the year.
  15. I feel weird saying this, but it's not Rodgers that I worry about this time, it's their running game. The Pack are 3rd in the league rushing the ball so the rookie LBs are gonna have to have big games stopping the rush for the Bears to have any kind of chance. Tillman/Jennings are also gonna have to shut down Nelson. If everything goes right they might be able to steal one but the chances are really slim.
  16. I like it, and I'm glad the talkbears moralists aren't poo pooing on this guy. Sucks that he'll be out the next 2 weeks, at least, because I believe the season will be decided with these next 2 games. Particularly the Detroit game. If they lose that game then the seasons over. One of San Fran/Seattle is a lock to get one of the Wild Cards and I think the North Bears/Pack/Lions get the other one.
  17. Go back to the 2nd post I posted in this thread, I know the words aren't mine but I agree with what the guy said. I'm not saying the line hasn't improved, it certainly has, even through PFF ratings. Using the PFF ratings Webb was our best lineman last year, but the rating he put up last year would have been 5th on our team this year so it's clear the line is better this year. Resigning Slausson is a "must" imo, and I like the idea of moving him to center, even though Garza hasn't been bad.
  18. Well ya, I'm sure that's the case but I still want the most talented player no matter where he's at on the depth chart.
  19. Larry Grant is the only interesting one of the bunch. "Grant turned in an impressive three-game cameo in place of an injured Patrick Willis in 2011, but surprisingly played just 21 snaps on defense in 2012." -rotoworld So at least this guy looked impressive at some point.
  20. I believe this is true, like I said I don't have the stats at hand but again from the same poster he said week 1 Mills was actually one of the best pass blockers in the league. So when you consider he's been our biggest problem the rest of the way I imagine at the very least week 1 they played pretty good as a unit.
  21. Big Marriota fan but I think Chip Kelly and the Eagles take him. Idk about Mccarron, I think he may be a product of the system. A kid I'm looking at is Jimmy Garoppolo, I've read that some scouts think he's a first round QB, but CBS has him as a 3-4 round pick so it's really tough to say where he'll go. Don't let the small school fool you, the kid sounds legit. Local kid too. "Good-sized, rhythm quarterback with excellent accuracy, timing and a quick release that really helps him be efficient from the pocket. Sets up quickly and shows good lower body movement skills to evade pressure and deliver from different platforms."
  22. Since I dont have a subscription this year I'll let the guy on soxtalk who does elaborate. In response to someone saying "Saying the line isn't improved is laughable" Nobody said that, it's actually much better. J'Marcus Webb rated as our best, and his aggregate rating over 16 games would put him as our 5th best this year. PFF does say, though, that our line is still bad at pass blocking. Jay was "under pressure" in 38.7% of his dropbacks this year. Peyton Manning (whose line is on the opposite end of the spectrum) was under pressure on 21% of dropbacks. This is actually a portion of a percent higher than the past two years, but much lower than 2010 when it was off the charts (43%). He was at 22% in Denver as well, btw, and 28% in his first year in Chi-town. Another way to look at it is pass blocking efficiency for our line. On 45.7% of dropbacks, Jay was hurried, hit, or sacked. 22% for Manning. What might really blow your mind is that almost half these hurries/hits/sacks came from Jordan Mills. Replace Mills with an average player (roughly the level of play from Webb last year, fwiw) and our pass blocking rating goes to middle of the pack for the league. This statistic is even worse than Arizona, whose PFF rating is actually much worse than ours. PFF gives relative weights to hurries, hits, and sacks. Jay has been hit and sacked relatively little given the amount of pressures and hurries he's had, which is likely due to scheme and decision-making. Our line seems better because 1. The majority of the bad is concentrated on one player and 2. we have an o-coordinator that can scheme to cover up our weaknesses. And to piggy back on what he's saying, I agree with you guys in that Mills will only improve, and if he does the line as a collective whole will look much better in their overall rating.
  23. I'm not saying it's the bible, it's merely the only source of analytical data on the offensive line that's all.
