  1. Kinda surprised you're not more angry at this. Also what were his injury concerns coming out of college? I see he missed 3 games his sophomore year and that's it...Did he get injured in the final game of the season at UW? In the offseason?
  2. I think it was a good pick, you can't foresee injuries. I hope he doesn't turn into Colombo....
  3. Russell weighed in at 267 pounds...He was 265 when he was drafted. Bears apparently had no interest in signing any of the 3 guys today though.
  4. This is a plus though. I don't see a reason for him to point out that he was dreading going to practice last year unless he really did hate it(No reason to basically throw Lovie and the staff under the bus). Being happy and having fun is a great for team chemistry and that could be something they lacked in the Lovie Smith era. Marshalls gonna get his, and I'm sure he won't mind if his "brother" Martellus Bennett or the guy he's taken under his wing Alshon Jeffery dip into his catches. I just don't see that being a problem. I'd really be shocked if (barring injury) Cutler doesn't AT LEAST put up the numbers he did in Denver. It also wouldn't surprise me one bit if he performs better than he did there. If the defense doesn't end up being the unit that "dreads" going to work now that we have an offensive minded coach then I believe we're gonna be in for a lot of fun this year....And I think with a lot of key starters back on defense I don't believe we'll see that.
  5. Trent Edwards could be a good guy to bring in if they're not happy with McCown. We have a guy who is supposed to be one of the best at teaching QBs and if you pair him with supposedly the most intelligent QBs in the league and I think that good be a good matching. Paying attention shouldn't be a problem with this guy. He's kinda be plagued by injuries his whole career and stuck behind Mike Vick last year. He went 54-80 for 489 yards with 4 TDs and no picks last year in preseason.
  6. When is it ok for him to go out and live the life of a 20 something year old again? If you can go out and do it responsibly I don't see the problem. But then again this is coming from a 20 something who would be doing the same thing if I had his money. I'd also always have a DD if I had his money
  7. That's kind of my point...I'm just saying "workout" doesn't necessarily mean he won't make the team. They're bringing him in to see if he can make the team, they're not just wasting there time.
  8. If he was drinking and driving home yes. We don't know that though.
  9. Not necessarily...I can't find a thing about this guy but I don't see why they'd work him out without the potential of signing him. That makes little to no sense.
  10. Oh stop it. Becoming a professional athlete doesn't mean you stop having fun. He very well could have called a cab or had a DD.
  11. You know things are slow when we're having an argument over whether or not Eric Weems is a WR. smh He was our #5 WR last year, thus he's a WR. Does he play ST 99% of the time? yep, but in a pinch (like when Jeffery and Bennett were both hurt last year) he's a WR.
  12. Even if he does you have to wonder if its because of the PEDs....Chances of that are slim though so theres no need to get into it.
  13. Bears are bringing in Eddie Williams for a workout...Apparently he used to be a Bears FB? I don't remember him. Biggs tweeted that it's perhaps planning ahead.
  14. But.. but... he's working with Marshall Faulk to help him read defenses. It is worth a shot though...We do have the QB whisperer lol
  15. ...exactly...he was a a practice squad TE last year. At the moment he's probably 6th of 6 TEs on our depth chart anyway so no big news here. He's probably next to go.
  16. Add Trent Edwards and Jordan Palmer to the mix...Both are very meh....I seem to remember Edwards having some good games back in the day. Plus he's one of the smartest QBs in the league so maybe he can learn from the QB Guru.
  17. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...4,0,73998.story Doubt he was gonna make the team any way but this is probably the nail in the coffin...he gone.
  18. It's news that we're looking at QBs though. I assumed they were just gonna go to battle with Cutler/McCown/Blanchard.
  19. http://espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/story/_/id/...go-bears-friday Jason's sure to love this...I personally don't mind it at all, I believe we could use an upgrade over McCown so it's worth a shot to see if Russell can be that guy. Article says the workout will be with 3 other QBs....Wonder who they are?
  20. Hmm, I was just going off the Bears website. But I did notice Dom still on there so I should have known it wasn't up to date. Why should they cut someone from the D-line? DT is the one position where we should add a piece. I want Izzy but I'll take Ellis AZ- He hasn't been that great the last 2 years...in fact some might say he has sucked.... but I think if you put him out there with better talent in Pep and Melton he can still show you why he was once a top 10 pick.
  21. I'd love to add Ellis, I think he still has some upside. Esp. on a DL with the likes of Peppers and Melton. Who would I cut? I'd go with one of Derrick Dennis, Nick Pieschel, Chris Riley, or maybe even Edwin Williams if they like what they see out of Lonergan or Boggs. Between Long, Slausson, Brown, Carimi, and Mills we're pretty well stacked at OG.
  22. Agreed. ....At least the board is consistent with what happened with Webb and now Rodriguez. Chalk it up to boys being boys
  23. I'd be surprised if this was the end of the road for him....I know a FB should be easy to pick up but right now hes the only guy we got unless the plan is play Unga there.

Case and point. Your head would probably explode with all the dumb questions that get asked. You already wanna kill the person who asked if Briggs was moving inside, I'm sure there is more where that came from....I know we can all do it, we basically do it here on a daily basis but most of our responses wouldn't be published due to us not keeping a level head.

Lol I don't think anyone here can do it. You've gotta be able "keep calm" so to speak in response to some of these dumb questions....I think most of us on here would be calling people out on their stupidity which is sadly a no no. I'd love to see some of these beat reporters rip into some people but that will never happen.
