Can't really argue with any of that other than your assessment on Wilson not seeing time because he's too similar to Marshall and Jeffery...I really don't see the problem at all in that. With the UDFA signings of Harrison and Rucker as well as Wilson, all WRs with good size, I don't think the Bears see a problem with that either. Now if you said they were all to similar to say Devin Hester, or a Dane Sanzenbacher, then we might have a problem. But I really see no problem in having 3 or even 4 guys if Harrison makes the team that are drawing comps to Marrshall and Jeffery.

If Trestman is who we think he is? Yes. Maybe not significantly but when you add in what he can do with his feet and you throw in his leadership ability I think he would give us a much better chance to win than MCCown. According to the media though we're not interested so I guess we can just close this down.

You must have missed where I said this.

I'm not pissed that they haven't upgraded the backup QB I just think we could really use one. That was the thought process last year in bringing in Jason Campbell, good teams should have a good backup. I could care less what the media has to say and we have a guy in Jay Cutler who could give 2 shits about what the media has to say. Until he gets signed elsewhere I will continue to believe the Tebow is a perfect fit here.
-
So, circus aside, you guys feel better about Josh McCown than Tim Tebow? I sure as hell don't. With the read option plays that we supposedly have in our playbook I feel much more comfortable with Tebow out there.
-
Had to look that one up, wow, you're right. Mccown has some serious problems holding onto the football as well perhaps even a bigger case of fumblitis. 41 fumbles in 52 games, 33 starts. Krieg had 153 in 213 games, 175 starts. I guess looking at Tebow he's not much different 14 35 games, but with him as a runner you kinda expect that.
-
I agree with Da Coach Mike Ditkas thoughts on Tebow... I'd much rather have him then the fumbling machine that is Josh Mccown. Not as a gadgety periodic wildcat QB but as the backup QB who comes in should Cutler get hurt.
-
I know me, and maybe Jason (I think he was on board in the past) will be the only ones on board with this but I feel we'd have a better chance to win with Tebow as our backup than Josh McCown. Tebow has TWTW, the will to win. We've got the QB whisperer Marc Trestman who can (continue to) work on his mechanics as a QB and we can run the read option Trestman talked about which complements Tebows game. The WCO is also a good fit for Tebow.

Time to get the meatheads all steamed up. Tim Tebow should be our backup QB.

Throw in WR Demetrius Fields, Northwestern...As a Wildcats fan I kinda like this pickup, he doesn't exactly have great measurables but he always seemed to find a way to get open. That said I don't really see him as an nfl player but I'm glad he's getting a shot...More of a slot guy at NW but with his lack of speed that might not translate to the NFL. Great hands though.

We have another thread posted by AZ for this...I suspect a lot of us are ok with the draft and don't wanna participate. I posted my first 3 picks as Floyd/Warford/Greene.
-
Oh I've got it all.

The pack actually do use a 1-6 formation, their psycho package....We're not the pack though.
-
I hear the powers that be want run a 2-5 defense. May even go 1-6 on some plays with SMC lined up as an LB....The question now is will they ever move to a straight 7 LB defense with Washington standing up as well.
-
It sure will be be an interesting camp battle between the guys you mentioned. If Hester gets beat out by say a Lequan Lewis as the returner I would love to see both Hester and Weems cut and both Wilson and Harrison make the team
-
It is. http://espn.go.com/nfl/draft2013/story/_/i...ine-sources-say There hasn't been any conformation though since they have both denied it. Hard to disagree that all signs don't point to him and Hopkins though. Here's a quote from his coach that I liked.

Throw in another athlete. C.J. Wilson CB, NC State. I read on another board that he outplayed Amerson in some games.
-
I don't know about best ever but I do love the potential. We certainly don't lack athleticism.

To be quite honest if the Bears weren't high on Brown/Carimi then Long was the right pick. Kromers OL in Nola worked from the inside out and he's had Carl Nicks, Ben Grubbs, and Jahari Evans, 3 of the best OGs in the league, during his tenure with the Saints..... But with that said Warford made it to 50, which you couldn't bank on btw, so in hindsight I would have taken Shariff Floyd. I think a Peppers-Melton-Floyd-Wooton/Moore/Washington/SMC would have been a dominate DL. He also would have given us insurance should Melton walk next year. Mark me down with Floyd-Warford-Greene with the first 3 picks. 5th round is where it gets a little fuzzy and I'll have to think about it more. Eifert would have been nice as well.
-
Slausson played some OC early on in his career. I don't really see that as the plan but it would be nice to see Brown or Carimi step up and look good at OG and it kinda "forces" them to take a look at Slausson inside. Bushrod-Long-Slausson-Carimi/Brown-Webb/Mills could be pretty damn solid. If Long is projected to move outside to a OT position than I kinda doubt Mills was brought in to start.
-
And that wouldn't surprise me at all. He was Mayocks 3rd ranked OG and when 1 and 2 are Warmack and Cooper, number 3 ain't bad. Overall though I agree with the rest of the evaluation.

This year I think we still need a a run stuffing DT. I somewhat expect Izzy and his long arms to come back and take that role....Kelvin Hayden wasn't that great in the nickle according to the stat geeks at PFF so I would have liked a CB but the Bears saw differently or they have someone else in mind to play the nickle. Regardless though all 5 Bears CBs are FAs next year so I see that as a future need. It's hard to really touch on the future needs of the team. We've got A TON of key guys becoming FAs next year and we have no idea who they can or will resign so it's tough to really say. To me though CB and DT are a "need".
-
I got money on this guy making the team and sees time outside of ST.
-
That could be part of the reason, and the whole combine thing could be why Harrison went undrafted. If both can turn it around then we could have a couple of steals IMO. If not, they're simply a 7th round pick and a UDFA, no real loss there.
-
Bakare ran a 4.35 and looks really solid in this video. At 5'11" he's probably too short to play LB but he looks like he could compete in the secondary. I know we'd be lucky if 1 of these guys actually contributed and there was a reason they went undrafted but color me impressed with most of these athletes. BTW, I'm mixing a little vodka with my kool aid so I may just be over exaggerating here in my love for these UDFAs.
