  1. watch the whole games man, highlights will show you nothing.
  2. Go watch what the saints did with Aldon Smith, they double teamed him on well over half their passing plays. The Bears hardly ever did the same thing. They set those 2 guys up for failure. It's gonna be nice to have an OL coach who knows how to effectively use double teams.
  3. Notice how I have a 2nd set of picks should the Bears not think highly of your boy Gabe Carimi at RG, a spot that I believe is his for the taking. Expand my little mock draft further and I'd have us taking Schwenke in the 4th setting the line up to be Bushrod-Slausson-Schwenke-Carimi-Webb. I'm still waiting for your analysis on the Webb/Bushrod vs SF data we talked about weeks ago. Going back and watching the tape, at least from facing one of the best Ds in the NFL, I stand by my claims.
  4. I'll take a 2nd, 3rd, and 5th too if they don't wanna give us their 2 2nds. The draft is deep enough that the Bears should be able to find some good value at pick # 74 and also get some depth with the added 5th rounder. Right now Mayock has Banks as the #5 CB in the draft behing the 2 you mentioned, Trufant, and DJ Hayden (Ironic name).
  5. You mean winning the game that we needed to win for a chance at the playoffs? Ya shame on you Lovie Smith. If we lost that game they would have MAYBE moved up 1 spot, I'm not sure how the tie breaker between us and NYG would have worked. As for you're question. If we can get San Frans 2 2nd rounders I would love for us to go with Jonathon Banks/Arthur Brown/Jesse Williams...If the Bears don't think highly of Gabe Carimi at OG (I personally think it should be his spot to lose) then I'd go with Warford/Brown/Amerson. That's just going off of the WF mock draft which I suspect is rather unrealistic.
  6. A guy over on soxtalk who's a known Bills fan called him a good scheme fit, saying he's good at rushing the passer but horrible in the run game.....So we just picked up another situational pass rusher.
  7. I still want them to add a DT who's not limited to the 3 tech because of lack of size. If Paea were to ever go down we'd be pretty thin up front, and I'm not talking about depth. Could use a big'un to rotate with Paea.
  8. If you do it before they hit the field then there won't be any Tom Brady in the 5th type picks we can do as far as "playing hero" goes. It's about who you would have drafted instead and then looking back a year or 2 down the line to see how we fared as a collective fan base ("testing the theory") in picking vs what Phil actually did. Instead of taking guesses with mock drafts we're mocking the real deal. I like the idea.
  9. We've put up list after list before the draft, I'm fairly certain this is a mock off the actual draft....Cool your jets plumber boy
  10. I believe AZ is talking about doing this AFTER the draft with players we thought the Bears should have drafted. An interesting thought, basically a mock draft based off the real draft.
  11. Peanut and Jennings together though will cost a a pretty penny. I do agree we should also grab a DL piece early as well I just disagree that whomever that may be will play more than our nickel back...esp in a pass happy league.
  12. That seems about right to me as well but I really believe his play will elevate a ton next year and you'll see that number jump significantly
  13. Lets move this over here so you guys can continue talking about the #3 QB. Drafting a CB also replaces Moore for next year at the nickle position. I've said multiple times in the other thread that it also adds flexibility for the future as well like you said. With so many good DTs in the draft its easy to see one being the BPA in the 2nd and I believe they should go for it. I brought up Izzy and Moore because they are the 2 guys who saw the field the most last year who we have yet to suitably replace IMO.
  14. lol like Datone Jones DT/DE UCLA or some ish like that.
  15. Yep, sure do. If the players are there to draft a CB then a DT I don't see how that's an "unintelligent" outlook on the draft.
  16. Ya because discussing players who are actually gonna see some time on the field is lumped into the same discussion as a #3 QB...gotcha.
  17. Are we seriously arguing about a potential 3rd string QB?
  18. I agree with the bold statement, but once again...for the sake of argument who do you want? A nickle back, while technically not a starter would still see a lot of time and is virtually a starter. Much like a slot WR is technically not a starter. Unless 1 of the 2 OGs drop chances are they're not gonna get a 1st year starter in the 1st. A DE over Wootton/SMC? A DT over Paea? A safety over Conte/Wright? DJ Fluker/Melinik Watson over Webb/Scott/Carimi?
  19. And who do you want Jason? Chances are the OL pieces are gonna be gone. Tillman is not gonna play for ever and there are many teams, namely the Packers, who will run 3 good WRs out there. With what we've done in FA I think a CB will play the biggest role for this team next year. A CB also gives us insurance should we be unable to resign Tillman or Jennings who are both free agents next year. It also would allow us to potentially move Tillman to a safety spot where I think he can dominate by getting around the ball more. IMO unless one of the top 2 guards drop then CB is what we should target.

Not sure how to respond to this but I agree on the last stanza, we should still look to move down to pick up more picks.
  21. Yes, he can. Moore was benched shortly after his comments about Jay, I don't think it was nothing more than that. People tend to forget he had 8 picks in the 2 years prior to his comments and supplemental benching. Those 8 picks tied him with Tillman, who played more snaps and 3 more games, for the most over that time period. Moore was a playmaker. This is Lewis 6th team in 3 years...He'll be no where near the nickle position, right now he's probably the #5 CB....He can do some work in the return game though. i kinda expected Hester to be cut after his signing but that hasn't happened so I kinda doubt it will.
  22. I think the Bears, or any team not ask him to contribute right away, would be a perfect situation for Mauti. Unless an injury happens early to Williams or Anderson then Mauti has some time to get that knee healthy. I love his upside but I do have him listed as 3rd for a reason in my post though. I'd much rather get a guy like Klien, Gooden, Porter, Hodges, or Reddick just couldn't remember their names at the time. Another guy who could be worth a look in the 5th that has medical issues but offers big upside should he check out medically is Walter Stewart. He, like Mauti, was highly touted before an injury put a damper on his potential.
  23. Lequan Lewis won't be anywhere near the nickel if you ask me. After further investigation of the situation bradjock brought up I think the decision of Hayden over Moore was Moore (pun intended) about his comments on Cutler vs the talent level. PFF also agrees but lets not get into that discussion again. Ya, he made some very unfavorable comments about Cutler which is never any good. I'm on board with the whole cutting Hester for Izzy thing though. For it not to have happened already though tells me they may be looking at a guy in the draft.
  24. Yes, the possibility exists that our 2 new guys get hurt. I agree with the mock in that we should wait till the 4th or 5th to grab an LB. A guy like Gooden/Klien/Mauti/etc.
  25. Unless Williams or Anderson get hurt (or suspended) Klein won't make a contribution in the first year.
