  1. Not a fan of Smith anymore. Would rather go Butler in the 2nd.
  2. Where does he rate well against the blitz? Wasn't PFF https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2016/...rt-connor-cook/ That scouting report kinda reminds me of Jay Cutler, but Cook doesn't really have the mobility of Cutler. Brandon Doughty in the 4th is my hope. I've seen a few WTF balls, but more often than not he is money.

    Rumors

The way most mocks think things will play out, I wouldn't mind Zeke if they can't trade down. Right now I think it's possible they think they've filled all their holes and can legit go BPA. The holes that get talked about. 1. OLB- This one I don't even see with Mcphee, Houston, and Young combining for one of the better OLB "combos" in the league 2. CB- Not sure what they think of Porter but he wasn't BAD and I could see him start again with Fuller/Callahan. 3. OT- I wouldn't be surprised if they think Leno could get better and stick. 4. S- IMO Rolle could end up being the starter opposite Amos and I wouldn't be mad about it.
  4. Wouldn't mind him as a replacement to the RB pick in the 7th. Surprised how well the draft worked out using only small school players. If Fangio and Donatell think they can work with Miles Killabrew in coverage he could even be in there over Bradberry. Bradberry has safety size, and turned down a scholarship from a team who wanted him to play safety but has never played the position. Probably where he ends up in the NFL though. If they are serious about drafting a RB early, in this hypothetical small school mock, trade down for William Jackson, add a 3rd and draft Kenneth Dixon(LA Tech) or Devontae Booker(Utah).
  5. I'm gonna try a all "small school" draft. 1. William Jackson CB Houston- More I see of him, I don't think it's crazy to see him taken here. 2. Vernon Butler DL LA Tech- Love this kid. Butler-Goldman-Hicks is a scary front 3. 3. Joe Haeg OT ND St. Solid chance he can stick at LT 4. James Bradberry S Samford- Fits the CB/S hybrid type S Fangio seems to like. 4. Brandon Doughty QB W. Kentucky- Some have called him the most accurate QB in the draft. 5. Tyler Higbee TE W. Kentucky- Not only is he a solid TE, but it also gives Doughty a familiar security blanket. 6. Tyrone Holmes OLB Montana- He's getting some love after a really strong pro day, might not make it here but hard to tell. 6. Wendall Williams WR Cumberland- Supposedly ran a 4.19 at a regional combine. 7. Travis Greene RB Bowling Green- Had a bit of a hard time finding someone here. Greene is said to be an underrated "Beast." Outside of MAYBE "reaching" a bit for Jackson, that came out surprisingly well. I'd really like this.
  6. No Noah Spence? I'm not as high as most on him but not in the top 100?
  7. Going back to his days as LB coach in Baltimore, I'm still not so sure speed is nessecary out if his ILBs. I think he might rather have guys who will run through mfers rather that guys who can run around em.

    Back up QB

The thing about the Packers that year is they didn't really have holes to fill. If I remember correctly they had a top 10 offense and defense.
  9. Yeah, 3 cone drill is my favorite drill to look at when it comes to OLBs... We all know I'm not really interested in a first round OLB. If we wanna draft one at all, go with Cowser later on.
  10. Depending on how discussions have gone with Alshon I would do Alshon for Mo IF Alshon has made it seem like he doesn't wanna sign long term.
  11. And yet last year 7 playoff teams were clients of PFF. I'm gonna bookmark the mock draft and look back to see how these guys do.
  12. Arms are a little shorter than I'd like. Think he's better suited inside a 4-3.
  13. This years DL class is insanely talented and there is almost no difference between the 3rd ranked guy and the 10th ranked guy. I really wouldn't be shocked to something like Jones going top 15 at all. I'm not a big fan of going RB that early, but with them trying to sign Anderson, it's not crazy to think they might go after a RB early.
  14. Where have you seen that?
  15. Again, I just don't see Lee as a 3-4 OLB, I don't like waiting till the 6th to get a defensive linemen, McGovern is solid but I don't see him as a LT option which is the spot we don't have depth at, and I don't feel comfortable at all being one hit away from seeing Fales or Adams at QB.
  16. I was against a LT early in the draft at the beginning of the off-season as I thought there were bigger problems than Leno and they wouldn't be able to do as much as they have done in FA. Now that they have done a ton in FA, I think they should target one early. Problem might be is after Tunsil and Stanley, there are question marks on whether anyone else can stick at LT. Conklin might be able to, but I'm not sure he's really worth the pick at 11. If we can trade down to 20, I think he has fair value there. Spriggs is a guy I like and would hope he drops to the 2nd, but I have my doubts he makes it. Might still have to fit a square peg in a round hole so to speak by taking a guy who might not profile as a LT. If it doesn't work out you can always shift him over to RT and cut ties with Massie ( who I don't think got a lot of guaranteed money) after a year or 2.
  17. To quote Charles Barkley. ...Turrable. Lee is a 4-3 OLB not a 3-4 OLB. No OT? They aren't waiting to grab a QB. No DE till the 6th? ..
  18. Of all the names listed in this thread, Treadwell would be last on my list. I've started to come around on Robinson after watching some more film and after they brought Hicks in(who I think can be a solid pass rusher). I think he would actually be #1 on my list. I would have zero problem with Goff. Cutler seems to have greatly matured this last year and I don't think he would have a problem with Goff behind him for a year or 2. I expect this Bears team to be solid for the foreseeable future and now may be the time to go after that QB of the future.
  19. Didn't see the interview AZ talked about, but from what I've read, and knowing the FO ran Marshall and Bennett out, he just doesn't seem like a guy this organization would draft at all. That said, from what I've read the Bears have scheduled a workout with him and im sure they will talk to him a ton to see if he checks out. I wouldn't hate him in the 2nd or 3rd knowing the Bears put their work in on him.
  20. I look at the Chandler Jones trade as a good frame of reference. Both guys are really good and both guys are on 1 year deals. The Pats got a 2nd round pick and a former 1st rounder who has been a bit of a bust.......I would say Cooper(the former 1st rounder) is probably worth a 5th round pick. So the Pats kinda got a 2nd and a 5th for Jones. A trade down from 11 to 20 has the same value as a 2nd rounder, and I would rather do that than give up the 2nd rounder all together. If they could do a trade down plus a 4th or 5th rounder, I would be ecstatic.
  21. I can't see Scooby at 6'0" with short 30" arms playing OLB in a 3-4. Especially when you consider he isn't all that fast. He would get swallowed up playing the edge.
  22. Ehhhh.... I've gotta watch the film myself on Hargreaves, but from what I've read he's a good press corner. AZ says otherwise so I'll have to check for myself. Henry is kind of a meh pick. I still have zero interest in Scooby. Even moreso now with Trev and Freeman on board. Doesn't make much sense, and I don't think his skillet matches what the bears want in an ILB. In the 4th I would be fine with Smith. Though at this point in your draft there are pretty important roles left in S, backup/starting OT, backup QB, and possibly a starting 5 tech(still have no idea what to think about the DL other that Hicks/Goldman). I'm not sure they opt to take Smith with holes elsewhere. Bronson is meh. I like Haeg, Kearse, Hogan and Vitale, but I don't think any of them is realistic in where you drafted them.
  23. They waived Fales last year, so I can't imagine they are that high on him.
  24. Both are needs. I do agree though.
  25. I was actually in the process of posting a mock with a Wilkerson trade but my tablet goofed up and erased it all. I think along with a the trade down, you're also gonna have to give up a 4th to get Wilkerson. Overall I like what you did here, though the Bears are absolutely in need of a backup QB. I'm also torn on what to do with Leno. I think he can improve, and earlier in the off-season I was fine with just waiting and grabbing a mid rounder to compete with him, but with all they've done I think they should look to grab an OT in the 1st 2 rounds. Right now, in this situation, I would go... 1-20- William Jackson CB 2. Jason Spriggs OT 3. Dak Prescott QB- With the addition of Wilkerson, cap wise we may wanna move on from Cutler next year + we need a backup anyway 4. James Bradberry S/CB 5. Nick Vannett TE 6.6.6.7 TBE (To be edited)
