I can get behind that..... I debated only going with 1 LB as well but I figured I'd please TT by taking 2 lol. I think Williams can be the guy for this year and maybe a couple more as well but he does have some injury concerns so I went ahead and grabbed Alonzo as a backup plan and the potential long term option......I originally had EJ Manuel over Alonso and Dallas Thomas @ 180 even though there is not a chance he'll be there that late.

Just tweaked it a bit, made it a lil more sexy for you guys craving WRs.
-
Not a bad pickup for the special teams.
-
I'm not saying Moss was good I'm saying SF took a chance on a past their prime WR with character issues which is something the Bears would be doing as well. Look guys it was just a thought based on the fact that he's working out with Marshall and the other Bears receivers. They would have some insider info on what kind of shape he's in that other teams wouldn't. So if Marshall told the powers that be that he's in great shape and may be worth taking a waiver on I wouldn't be opposed to doing so, that's all I'm saying. With no guaranteed money given to him there is no risk involved whatsoever. If one of the WRs go down you can do worse than having Chad out there on the field. I'm done talking about it.

Time to waste more time with another mock using the above scenario....since WF doesn't go 6 rounds I'll use drafttek. #34- Larry Warford LG KY- Easy choice here, we need guards and he can step in right away at LG. #50- David Amerson CB NC State- Ball hawking CB to develop behind Peanut/Jennings #74- Sio Moore OLB UConn- Takes over for Roach #117- Kiko Alonzo MLB Oregon- Potential MLB of the future, said to be great in coverage. #153- Marquise Goodwin or Josh Boyce WR- Goodwin has the more speed but is raw, Boyce brings speed and a more complete player...I'd be happy with either. #157- Kwame Geathers NT UGA- you know I had to squeeze him in there. #180- Matt Scott QB Zona- Here's our QB to groom behind Cutler. Probably the most underrated QB in the draft. #188- Braxton Cave OC ND- For whatever reason he's not even drafted in Draftteks mock despite being better than Johnson. Just doin it to pass time, I'm sure ill take heat for waiting till our 8th pick to draft a WR but oh wells.
-
Whoops, you're right. Add in a 6th rounder as well then....So #20 for 34/74/157/180 would work out and leave us with 3 picks in the top 75 vs on 2 and having to wait all the way till 117. This make me wanna do another mock lol
-
or that lol....SF would be an ideal trade partner with their plethora of picks. Not sure if I'd rather have picks 31 & 34 or picks 34, 50, 66.
-
For their 2nd 3rd round pick, #94, it works out pretty much even....Bears pick value = 1250 vs SF value 1284. For their 1st 3rd round, #66, the value would be 1250 vs 1420 so it may not work, I'm not sure how wide a margin these types of trades have. Trading our 1st for their 2R #34 & 3R #66 would work out as well 850 v 820. Adding in pick #157 (5R) makes it nearly spot on @ 850 v 848. A mid first for a high 2nd, a high 3rd, and an extra 5th would be pretty nice, esp with our primary need being LG and a guy like Larry Warford more than likely being available at 34. Here's the chart btw.... http://www.draftcountdown.com/features/Value-Chart.php

Thats pretty cool Flea. It's a goal of mine to make it out to the UK at some point in my life. If that were to ever happen maybe I too can drink with you and the guys. It's a dream of mine to live out there actually, America is becoming far to ignorant for me lol. HA! Thanks man I appreciate it....I'm thinking about college for journalism now as well. If I can get some work in at PFF and have a journalism degree as well it puts me in great position to becoming a full time journalist which would be fantastic. Not yet but hopefully at some point I will. I clearly don't mind putting the work in for free though. I'm basically taking it as an internship of sorts, something that might help me out in the future.

Jones is gonna be available in the 2nd. Walt at walterfootball has him going with the top pick of the 4th round while Charlie has him going with the 1st pick of the 3rd round.
-
You're probably looking at Charlies mock....Walts Mock has Greene going #81

In no way am I "pining" for it. It was just a suggestion while we were talking about the likes of TO and Moss. If Marshall had some input about Chad looking good while they're training together I'm merely saying I wouldn't mind taking a waiver on him at the vet minimum. Like I've said in the past though I don't think a WR is that big a need, but at the league minimum I'd still take a chance on him.
-
A Marshall/Jeffery/Bennett/Johnson/Rookie WR corp is better than a Marshall/Jeffery/Bennett/Rookie/Weems corp. With no guaranteed money given to Chad there's literally no risk involved.
-
He did that as the teams #4 receiving option, our #4 was Hester who had 232 yards. Chad would basically be our #5/6 option behind Marshall/Jeffery/M. Bennett/Forte/E. Bennett? with the potential to be more. It would all be based on what Marshall has to say about how he's looking in training, if Marshall suggests we take a chance, then we take a chance. Give him no guaranteed $$
-
He wasn't brought in to do much, just to provide a threat. An inspired Chad Johnson can still be a threat. From all Bennett has tweeted about fit speed that place is no joke, if he keeps putting in the work there I could see him still being a viable #4 WR who comes in from time to time. At a vet minimum I'd take a shot at him.
-
Worked for San Fran taking on Moss didnt it? At a near vet minimum and as a #3/4 receiver he could be a good acquisition. Figured id get blasted for it lol ohhh well
-
I feel like I'm about to derail this thread but while we're talking WRs with character issues...Ochocinco is working out with Marshall at Fit Speed...At a cheap price are we interested??
-
Sean Jensen @seankjensen 16m I do believe he's still in the mix… RT @SMD_WCG: @seankjensen nick barnett rumors true? I haven't heard any Nick Barnett rumors??? a combo of Briggs/Williams/Barnett could be pretty good.

Update using WF mock- Working out a trade would be fantastic, using the same Jags trade I used earlier I'd go with.... #33 Warford LG KY- Day 1 LG #50 David Amerson CB NC State- had one of the best years by college CB ever so I've read #64 Khaseem Greene LB Rutgers- Strong leadership qualities, could step up and take that role in a year or 2. Briggs-Williams-Greene could be a pretty solid group. #117 Brian Schwenke OC Cal- Could end up being the day 1 OC or at the very least light a fire under Garxa #154 Kwame Geathers DT UGA- Gotta get my big man crush in there. 6th RD and whatever other pick we get from the Jags we go WR/QB.
-
Ya, the Williams signing could turn out to be huge. Not so sure Warmack or Cooper are there but if so that would be huge for the line. I also wonder if Fluker can play LG, there's been a lot of talk about him having to move inside, I assume that wouldn't limit him to just the right side but that could be the case.
-
Quickest 40 time out of college was a 4.48 so yes, he's fast. 2 time Butkus Award semi finalist at the U. #17 overall pick, so he has/had a ton of talent. Lead the AFC in tackles in his last year as a 4-3 MLB with 141. His troubles were with DUIs and a failed drug test. Was a Co Captain until his 2nd DUI so I don't know if that's due to his leadership or just because he was really good. Could turn out to be a steal.
-
A lot of potential there if he gets his act together. Maybe he can have a Marshallesque turnaround and give the Bears 3-4 solid seasons. Not sure I wanna pencil him in at MLB just yet but he sure has the potential to fit the bill. Mods might wanna change it to D.J. Williams to end confusion.

It's one big puzzle at this point with a lot of wildcards thrown into the mix. I like what I'm reading about James Brown, I've never actually read a scouting report on him until now. I think he very well could end up being one of the starting guards. Center is another wildcard like a lot of you have said. Garza hasn't done enough to be handed the job with no competition, and there are a lot of guys in the late rounds that can be brought in as competition. Quesenberry or Schwenke in the 4th would be fantastic, Cave or Madsen later on would also provide adequate competition with Garza. Hopefully the outcome of the battle either results in a fired up Garza or a fresh new OC to take the line to the next level. Lastly, Lance Louis is also a wildcard. He should be healthy coming training camp from what I've read, and he should be cheap enough to resign to battle Carimi at RG. Not so sure it's a lock he's back though, he hasn't garnered a lot of attention so far in FA but after a few more OGs get signed he could be a name that sees more attention. He's probably best served to stay on the market for a bit. The Bears LB position is also a wildcard in all this. Do they sign a LB in FA? That would eliminate the need to grab one in the first round and then they can turn to either drafting Cooper/Warmack/Fluker if they're there or potentially trading down for Warford. So many directions it can go that it's really hard to say what they do and I'm not quite sure what I want but in Kromer I trust.
-
Awesome, have you spent some time working with them as well?
-
With his background as a safety I would have to agree with them. He also looks to be a thumper in the run game as well which is a plus. Drop the off the field issues and gain a few lbs (pounds that is) and he could be a force for years to come.
