Lmao, I love it. Long live the Black Unicorn. Just because you're a professional athlete doesn't mean you can't be a goof. I hope he gets in with Marshall over at Speed to get in his best shape possible for the season.
-
Further more, throw in Toe and they cut 5.35M... Which more than likely is less than what Bushrod and Bennetts cap hits are....So the Bears are more than likely back to that ~7M number.
-
They use the same line of thinking for every player so no matter how flawed they are they're still consistent. Consistently flawed? maybe, but still consistent. They're both the same in the fact that they're both gonna have some dreadful games like the article said. Will Bushrods "good games" be better than Webbs? Probably, and Bushrod is better in the run game too so no they're not comparable in that regard but JB is more than likely gonna have a few stinkers mixed in there just like Webb did last year. Overall Bushrod is the better player, yes, but it's not that big a step forward IMO...Luckily it only counts for 3M against the cap so I can't complain too much....I just hope Marc can get Jay to get rid of the ball as quick as Drew did. We have the weapons to do so.

The thread says if we already filled OG and brought back both Roach and Urlacher....At that point we'd really have no need so adding another toy for our "offensive guru" head coach and Jay Cutler to work with would be a scary pick that would make the offense even more dynamic. Plus like I said it would stop a division rival from getting their hands on a WR they need, esp if they can't get their hands on a guy like Jennings or Cruz.
-
Then they'd be in the same situation they were in last year if someone gets hurt, having to rely on Hester or whoever the #4 is to take the field. I'd keep Bennett, he's a good ball player when healthy and he provides good depth to the team.
-
The same in the fact that they're both inconsistent, yes. Bushrod has better "good days" yes, but they bot have their dreadful "bad days". Him making a pro bowl was a joke, PFF isn't the only one saying that. Did you even bother to read the article or are you just gonna make a blind argument?
-
If all that happens I go WR just to take another 1 off the board since Minny will no doubt be looking for 1 2 pick later. I don't think it's a huge need but if we filled all our needs in FA then I'd be cool with them giving Jay another toy.
-
Armando Allen was brought back, and with the plans to utilize a FB they probably don't carry 4 RBs.
-
That article basically made the exact same argument I've made over the last couple weeks. Bushrod is the same wildly inconsistent player that Webb was last year.
-
It'd be really nice to see Roach and a discounted Urlacher back. It would really open the door to do something crazy like drafting yet another toy for Jay Cutler to play with. Not that I really see it as a need but a 1st round WR would be really intriguing and it would also hurt the Vikings who are gonna need to add a WR even if they do get a Cruz or Jennings. I agree with all the guys you have bolded but wouldn't be mad if they let Scott go. RT and swing tackle should be locked down with Webb & Carimi...One of the CBs would be nice as well.
-
Aaron Hernandez, a player Rodriguez has been compared to, still gets a ton of work in even with Gronk around, 2 TEs can work in the NFL. Rodriguez panning out makes the offense even more dynamic if ask me. This offense can be sexy as hell next year. Adam beat me to it on the Gronk/Hernandez comp.

i don't think it would be anything to "puke" over, I've seen a few drafts that have him going in the 20s....If they Bears like what they saw today at his pro day this would be where to take him. Unless they can trade back. I'd certainly like Ogletree over him though and he should be there. His teammate Jarvis Jones could be another possibility at 20.
-
Fantastic deal...wonder what the cap number is?
-
As he always has been, Cooper would be fantastic @ #20. If he's not there it then opens the door for a LB like Ogletree or Brown. I still don't think Fluker is a RT so unless they let Louis walk or think he can play LG (which is possible) I probably pass on him.
-
So lets 6M against the cap for Bushrod AND Bennett, thats pretty solid. Not a huge fan of the Bushrod move but that's cheap enough for me not to hate. With any sort of cuts/restructuring/extensions we still very well can resign a good bunch of our own....Louis, Izzy, and Roach would be nice.
-
Mods feel free to delete this one and use the other one just posted....Beshrod lol oops...or edit it, thanks. Well all I hope for now is that Marc can get Jay to release the ball a little quicker.

Ian Rapoport @RapSheet Source: #Bears and reps for #Saints LT Jermon Bushrod are finishing up a long-term deal. #JayCutlersmiles

Interesting that I kept noting Bennett wanted to play with his brother in Tampa but now he's referring to Marshall as his other brother lol. So stoked.
-
GTFO, no way! freak YEA! So stoked right now!
-
Harvey Unga's still on the team right? There was some that thought he'd be a FB in the NFL....Wonder if he's been considered there.
-
Yep, not even I can complain about that...It'd set up an interesting draft.
-
Eh they could but like you said Garza was one of the worst centers in football last year, I'm not so sure moving him back to LG would all of sudden make him an above average lineman.
-
For a 1st rounder and a clearing of 8M off the cap that would lead to money for a guy like Levitre and/or Cook I sure would. I mean could you imagine coming out of that trade with enough money to sign Levitre and Cook then have a draft with 3 picks in the top 50?? They can draft a guy like Sheldon Richardson, Sylvester Williams, or my personal fav, Jesse Williams to fill his place. Then also potentially grab a guy like Ogletree, and a 2nd round WR like Ryan Swope or a 2nd round LT project/prospect like Armstead. Melton is a beast, there's no denying that but I believe they could improve the team more by trading him. But it won't happen so it's pointless to argue about.
-
It wouldn't surprise me. Throw in the 23rd and 25th pick in a good draft and they could get scarier. I kinda wish the Bears would do something like this with Melton.
-
That's a double edged sword for the Bears. It weakens the Vikings but it also makes another team in the NFC pretty scary. If Wilson takes another step forward they very well could be the best team in the league.
