  1. It's not a bad thought if they can address OG in FA and also either a TE or resign Urlacher/Roach. In a perfect world... An OG and Roach OR Urlacher would mean Eifert in the first. An OG and a TE would mean Ogletree in the first. and then you even further solidify the line with a huge upgrade at OC. Also from what I'm hearing, Louis will be ready for camp and should be able to play week 1...Adding DLP could mean cutting Garza to cover whatever it is DLP is making.
  2. I think all we'll be left with is Fluker and I really wouldn't group him with the the other 5. You may be right with Rodriguez but from all I've heard about the TE position I think they want their Gronk to their Hernandez here so to speak. That bigger guy to cause a mismatch in the slot.
  3. He "aint that good" in the pass game...Solid in the run game though....At least from the few reports I've read. He would still be a huge upgrade over the garbage we had at OG last year.

    2013 Cap Hits

As I've said in the past I'm not "Cap savvy" in the slightest but isn't it possible to restructure a contract in a way that you merely convert the players salary into bonus money?? If possible wouldn't it add to the cap and save them from future cap hell?? I swear I've heard of teams do this but it doesn't seem right...I guess they'd also have to have the extra pocket money to do so as well.
  5. I do believe you made the comically fantastic mistake of reading re-tweet (RT) as Right tackle (RT).... But ya, he was a guard, pretty good in the run game, not so much in the pass game. BTW, you're not the only one to make that mistake....it reminded me of a tweet Ian Rapoport posted
  6. ....or not..... Jeff Dickerson ‏@ESPNChiBears Filed to ESPNChicago: Restricted free agent DT Nate Collins says #Bears are not going to tender him.
  7. From my understanding on what little they have said about the type of TE they want neither guy really fits. They want a guy they can line up all over the place. You can't really line either Spaeth or Davis up anywhere other than in-line. I think they're looking for a guy they can line up in the slot a good portion of the time. Davis was the worst TE in the league last year...He can probably end up somewhere as a back up but probably won't start anywhere. He's also no where near the vet minimum....And Spaeth, he's more of just a strictly blocking TE and I think the Bears will want more than that.
  8. Well you said Phil works under the radar right? He may already have things done and is waiting till Monday to finalize things. If they do end up releasing the guys we've speculated about (Hester, Davis, and Spaeth) they're at ~13-14M already. Extensions to Marshall and Peanut (if they happen) can probably add another 4-8M to that. Restructuring Pep, if they decide to do so can obviously add another good chunk Then little moves like extending Gould, releasing Big Toe and Mannelly could free up another 1-2M. I can't imagine they're gonna stand pat here if they truly are talking to guys like Levitre, Jennings, Wallace. Cook and others....It'd be pointless unless they knew they can do a thing or 2 to free up some $$.
  9. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,7373064.story I noted earlier in the off season that he is working out with Marshall, Jeffery, and Rodriguez so they're keeping the clique together so to speak lol. Gonna make 480k
  10. Ya, I just saw that. he said another source says its a notch above 7M. That includes not cuts, extensions, or any kind of restructuring. I think by Tuesday we'll be up near 15M maybe even a higher.
  11. Yep, we literally have no idea right now as there's been no cutting/extending/restructuring happen yet. They very well could get up near the 20M Dallas freed up a little bit ago.
  12. Yes sir, he's the only one to have him in the 1st round though. Maybe we're looking at him in the 2nd?
  13. Charles Davis as well, has him taken at #24 in his mock. I'd say that's who they're looking at, So. Miss doesn't have any other prospects worth a pick.
  14. Oh lord, you called Dustin Keller Kellen Davis...That wasn't a grammatical error, I was pointing out that you said the wrong player. There's a difference there sir. Just let it go and move on. I'll go ahead and throw out my Big board to end this cycle. Even though I've defended Webb I still couldn't pass on one of the LTs on the board. At this point you almost have to grab an OL if any of the top 5 guys are there. 1. Joeckel 2. Fisher 3. Johnson 4. Warmack 5. Cooper 6. Eifert 7. Jordan 8. Mingo (I've read enough about the last 2s play in coverage to think they'd work) 9. Ogletree 10. J. Jones 11. Ertz 12. Patterson 13. Austin Adding any of these talents would be fantastic.
  15. I don't make little comments that bring no relevance to the conversation at hand. In the past 2 or 3 days you made 2 posts that brought nothing to the conversation and it's annoying. Stop it or step up your game up and add something more. I'm done, I won't be responding to whatever you have to say so don't waste your time.
  16. Another unneeded comment. Stop trying to act like you're better than me before i start pointing out all your bad grammar and misspelled words. Lets just stop it right here, no need to take away from the board. Grow up.
  17. His overall grade was better than Levitres yes but thats due too him being much better in the run game. Levitre was the top rated OG at pass protection in the whole league. That plus his age is why I'd want him over Moore Moore vs Levitre in pass protection- +5.6 vs +15.7....+5.6 was still good for 18th in the league which is still pretty good but I'd rather pay a little more (if possible) to bring in the best pass protecting OG in the league. I'd be happy with either though.
  18. I haven't really looked into players like Mingo or Jordan but they are very intriguing players, just a quick check on them tells me they can hang in coverage which sadly is a key in this defense. Still really hard to say what my big board would look like before free agency since a lot will depend on that. I'm gonna be lame and refrain from a big board until after FA.
  19. The injury, at this point is a non issue other than residual effects. He was potentially gonna play week 17 right? So he should have enough time to get it back to as close as 100% as it will be for next year. That move, for those who haven't seen it, looks like it would require some strong knees/hamstrings so that's a positive.
  20. I wouldn't mind it if the money is right. Groom James Brown or a mid/late round DP behind him to come in and take over when he's gone. OG is obviously a HUGE need. I'd prefer Levitre but he could break the bank.
  21. That sounds fair, I agree with the Lithuanian that it could dip down to 2/4....I've said in the past I'd take him back for no more than 3M a year so I'm cool with this....The hammy looked good in that little clip on twitter.

    2013 Cap Hits

If it really does wipe out 3.5M in cap I'd cut him. With the rumor they're gonna utilize a FB (Harvey Unga anyone?) I'd give him the short yardage duties and pick up a guy in the 5th or 6th to back Forte. Bush is nice to have but with the cap situation they put their selves in I'd let him go.....Kinda doubt that happens a year after signing a multi year contract, as I'm sure Phil already knows the situation, but it's what I'd do.
  23. Wonder what Brian and his camps looking for, hopefully it's not too far off from what the Bears can offer. At a good price I'd take him back. I wouldn't be devastated to see him go as I think he's no doubt lost a step, but even after losing a step he's still probably on par with Te'o =p ...I also don't think it's a lock that he'll miss time if he does come back like someone here mentioned. He looked good in that short little workout posted on twitter.

    Chris Spencer

I know it's PFF and it won't please everyone but this says Spencer was the worst guard in the league... I know he was bad but i thought there had to be SOMEONE worse. Paying that man 4.3M last year make me wanna puke....I woulda done better and would have gladly takin the 825k he was worth
  25. I agree but I was talking more along the lines of what the finished product will look like....FA will give us all more to talk about though which is nice because right now this little dead period blows.
