  1. Lamarr Houston- 8 sacks in 417 snaps Connor Darwin- 7 sacks in 1051 snaps. Just saying. Barwin does have more speed off the edge and more past success, but I still don't really see why OLB is a something they should invest highly in.

    Jaylon Smith

Mad wouldn't be the right word, but I would be somewhat disappointed. We have Trev and Freeman on really team friendly deals for a couple years. I'd rather they grab Hargreaves, Apple, or Jackson. Hargreaves is obviously not a reach, and I honestly don't think Apple or Jackson would be a reach.........After Conklin looked a little more athletic than people thought, he might be worth the 11th pick as well. I really like Smith, but I'd rather they spread their resources to another position.
  3. Very interesting. Have to wonder if this stop watches were a bit fast, because he doesn't look THAT fast. Also have to wonder what the talent level is out there. I wouldn't mind drafting him with one of the 2 late 6's or the 7th if he's there. He would certainly be a project, and I think with the current state of the TE position, I would ask him to play TE. That being said, I still think they need to a viable #2 earlier in the draft.
  4. Grab an OT in place of Martin and a QB in place of Yannick and I can get behind this. Hargreaves might be undersized, but he plays the style of football Fangio wants.....We all know how much I love Butler.....Joseph might end up being the 2nd best safety in the class.
  5. Slauson for Davis would turn me against Pace. Davis was awful last year and was nothing special before that.

    We Got Him!

Yeah, I don't really see the love on him as a returnee either. He's a supposed 'Dynamo" punt returnee and yet he only has 5 punt returns in his career. One of those was a TD though. If he is as good as some people like to say, I'd like to see him return punts and Thompson return kicks.
  7. He was actually on the practice squad last year....former rugby player.
  8. IMO Ramirez is better than Larsen so to me that makes the comment even more non sensical. Slauson from all I've read is great dude and he's a really good guard. Doesn't really make sense to trade him unless you're blown away.
  9. I'd rather trade back than take one of those guys who won't obviously be gone (Robinson, Lawson, Hargreaves, Treadwell, Elliott). I suppose now with Hicks, who offers some upside as a pass rusher, they could look at Robinson, who I don't really see as anything more than a dominate run stuffer. Still, I don't see any difference between Robinson, and other guys like Butler, Jarran Reed, and even Chris Jones who is another largely underrated prospect.

    Jalen Ramsey

I think Spence is largely overrated here. There are 9 mocks on NFL.com and CBS. Nfl.com mocks have him at 26, 28, and 2 drafts where he isn't drafted in the first. Cbs mocks have him at 31,20, 20, 19, and one undrafted in the 1st. So of the 9 drafts, 6 guys don't even see him as a top 20, and the 3 that do see him right at the bottom of the top 20. ....... To add even more.... WF has him at 49.... Another NFL.com guy has a 5 round mock and he has him at 42. Then there's this little nugget I found... I also don't see the Bears taking a guy who got banned from the Big 10 for multiple failed drug tests.

    Jalen Ramsey

Highly unlikely. Think he ends up in SD replacing Weedle at FS.
  12. Yeah, like I said, either he or Montgomery made too much sense. Manny is probably a tad bit better than Montgomery.
  13. Thinking more on that. Tony Jefferson has basically been pleading for the Bears to offer him a contract on Twitter, and yet they haven't. Jefferson, from what I've read, is more of a pure SS, so that might explain why they haven't even thrown an offer his way despite having a need, plenty of $$$, and him showing the desire to play here. That could be very telling on what they think about pure strong safeties, or it could mean they just view Amos as a SS and I've got it all wrong.
  14. One thing I've read is Fangio likes his safeties to be interchangeable. I take that as well rounded guys who can both cover and hit.

    WR or TE?

From the looks of it, he would need to be a TE. Right now I think the Bears need something better than him to back up Miller. I like Jarrell Adams the most of the 3-5 round guys. If they don't see the need to be a plus blocker then Higbee, who scouts are calling a Kelce clone, would be nice. I think we look for an all around guy though, and I'm not sure Higbee is that. Adams is a Gamecock too, so maybe he can bond with Alshon and make him happy.
  16. It's gonna be interesting to see where Neal goes. He was actually invited to Chicago to be apart of the draft and it is usually only 1st rounders who get the invite. Neal doesn't really appear to be one. I like Bell and Darien Thompson....I think both go in the 2nd though. Wouldn't mind either being the pick.
  17. Similar player to Montgomery in that they can both play all 3 interior positions....one of the 2 (Montgomery or Ramirez), or someone similar is really needed right now. Fox knows both Montgomery and Ramirez so I can live with whoever they bring in.
  18. I just think Lamarr Houston is criminally underrated. Houston- 8 sacks 417 snaps Miller- 11 sacks 835 snaps I'm not saying Houston>Miller, just throwing those numbers out there. Houston played a lot of OLB in Oakland the year before he got the contract with the Bears. If I remember correctly he was in the top 5-10 in pressures that year.
  19. I don't think they do otherwise they would have got some value back for Houston/Young.....Unless whoever they like they think might be gone. I personally don't think any will be gone, but I suppose they could keep Houston/Young around just encase. I also don't think any of the OLBs are worth the pick at 11. It wood be reaching for a "Need" which isn't even a need.
  20. All those guys are close to locks to be there at 11, you would think if they liked one of em and had intentions on going that direction they would have traded Houston/Young. I can't see them going into the season with McPhee, Houston, Young, Acho, and a 1st round pick. I could be wrong but that is a lot of investment in one position. I think they might add a mid/late rounder. James Cowser is a guy I really like. Holds the FCS record for TFL and sacks, plus he had the fastest 3 cone drill at the combine with a 6.80(Bosa was 2nd with a 6.89). As far as drills go, the 3 cone drill is my favorite to evaluate OLBs. Not sure why Cowser doesn't get more love. He's older for a prospect but still, I think he might be a steal.
  21. And the thing about Justin Smith is he's ridiculously strong so while he's smaller, he's as tough to move as the bigger guys.
  22. I think this theory might get put to a pretty big test. I think Hargreaves might be there at 11 and would absolutely be BPA. He's only 5'10 but plays as physical as a larger corner. He also has really good hops to make up for his height. With Calvin Johnson retired, there aren't many big monster receivers out there anymore either.
  23. Yeah, solid depth. Unless they trade one of Houston/Young, I really don't see them taking an OLB early. Maybe a prospect later on.
  24. He's been pretty much a bust. Bad ankles I think are his biggest problam. For a 5th I wouldn't mind it, anything over that I would pass
