I haven't heard a word yet on Urlacher but this report on Roach has hit the interwebs... http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bears/post...to-pursue-roach

Mike Mayock says Cooper is a top 4 talent, from all I've read on the kid he can play anywhere on the interior in any scheme. The Saints ran an Inside Zone Scheme....is there a difference between a Zone Bloking Scheme and an Inside Zone Blocking Scheme?

LG needs to be addressed before RT. There's some hope that Carimi can rebound and Scott I believe has been rumored to be coming back as well. Whereas unless Kromer likes Brown, which is completely possible, we really have no LG. If they don't sign a LG and Jonathon Cooper's on the board at 20 and he's not the pick, I'll be shocked. as far as this thread goes....I don't think any names are mentioned by the GM unless maybe you're sitting at #1. You can't really say ahead of time we're drafting so and so because 1. They might not be there and 2. if another team really likes the guy you said they would try to jump ahead of us to take him.

Roach is rumored to return.

I think Beattys contract will be a starting point for teams bidding on Albert. Some team will probably overpay a bit from that stand point. I'd say it'll be somewhere in the 8-9 range.
-
If we got Andy Levitre or another competent LG in FA then I can get down with this. Armstead won't be the answer if he's playing next crap at LG...no matter how fast he is.
-
Just to clarify, you mean 2.5 grams right? 2.5oz would put him in some deep shit.
-
Still not seeing your point as Lovie is gone and Nate Collins is about to get 1.33M after getting busted last offseason. Collins got a 1 game suspension so I can imagine Webb gets the same.
-
Did he participate as a QB or TE at the combine?? I remember there was reports of him being asked to do so which doesn't bode well for his chances at QB in the NFL.... From what I remember Matt Blanchard looked pretty good in the preseason, I wonder what Trestmans thought on him are.
-
I agree with this. It's a reality check. Luckily I was never caught with the stuff but it sure woulda made me straighten up. (I'm 67 days off the stuff BTW)

First, as far as i can tell from looking at weather.com it didn't snow today there so the bad weather argument is moot.....He tweeted that after the arrest so im sure he doesn't have weed on him going to train. Maybe he was a customer but what's your point? He'll get a fine and a game suspension more than likely. With no charges being pressed he could just get the the fine.
-
Sam Hurd had a ridiculously large amount of ganja, was selling and had other things if I remember correctly....Webb had so little that the judge is not even pressing charges...There's a huge difference there. Just saw he was going 76 in a 65. That's not that bad.

I noted I think there will be competition, as there should be, he won't be handed anything just like he never has been handed anything. Furthermore if they don't add a competent LG then it really won't matter who they give the job to as they too will struggle. When the LG isn't giving you any kind of help on a guy like Smith and Matthews that leaves the them open to moves to both sides which is an awful lot to ask for to defend against. If they FO frowned upon marijuana so much they wouldn't have brought back NATE Collins (I called him Nick earlier).
-
J'Marcus Webb @jmarcuswebb Headed to Texas to train. I apologize.
-
It really changes nothing for me honestly. There will be some sort of competition brought in and I'm sure guys like Carimi, Brown, Scott, and Brandon will get a crack at it as well. Do I think he wins it over the players mentioned? Yes. Could he get beat out by any of them? Sure. Will the competition they bring in be better? Maybe.....I certainly don't take his job away from him for this as it's pretty clear a good portion of the NFL does it, and I'm sure the higher ups aren't oblivious to it. He won't be handed the job but I certainly think he can win it. It's as simple as that when you ask my opinion. We've all been guilty of speeding in our lives as well...We may not have gotten caught but we have all sped.
-
If they can fit it in the budget...sure.
-
I know this thread will get deleted but its worth noting that Nick Collins is expected to be brought back and he busted for pot too. This by no means means he will be given the boot.
-
It happens every year in the draft to a large % of players. It's really nothing new.
-
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter Giants make significant off-season move: NY signed offensive tackle Will Beatty to a five-year, $38.75 million deal, per sources. Close to 8M...Players can usually make more on the open market so Albert would probably be looking around 9M.
-
With reports that a large % of the NFL smokes it's really no surprise....Pretty dumb to get caught though. Like Pompei just tweeted It's too bad he wasn't in Chicago at the time. The reports said he had a "small amount" which wouldn't garner an arrest in Chicago. You need more than an Oz to get arrested in the city
-
Oh stop it, bleacher report is the last line of defense. There's also been numerous reports on there saying he SHOULD be the LT next year. Here's Fantasy football toolboxs take on Carimi http://www.fftoolbox.com/nfl_draft/profile...rospect_ID=2416 and Walterfootballs http://walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2011gcarimi.php I could probably go further on this......Every year you hear of players having to switch positions coming into the NFL its no big shocker that they moved Carimi to LT..
-
The will it end comment was addressing the 2nd part of your comment. The Webb-Tice connection can no longer be used and I think it's pretty ridiculous to think it would still be a valid argument.
-
You better watch out with that PFF reference, "its obviously incomplete". Melton is huge for the defense though. If we keep the drop the LBs into coverage every play philosophy then we need a DT in the 3 tech that can get to the QB.....It is certainly a thought though if they don't think Webb can get it done next to a better LG (which they can find in the draft). As we all know I personally think Webb can get it done but I sure wouldn't be mad if the decided to grab Albert over Melton then draft my fellow rugby thug Jesse Williams in the 1st.
-
I kinda doubt it unless we say good bye to Melton. There's a lot of teams that have a lot more money then we do and a lot of them can use a LT. I have a feeling he'll end up in Indy making 8 or 9 mill.
-
I think its pretty easy to "insinuate" that he thought Webb>Carimi when he said what he said...I may be wrong and it may be just because RT is easier to fill but of course your opinion will never be wrong. Oh lord....it'll never end with you will it.
