Oh stop it jason, he wasn't that bad last year, the first 2 years yes but he wasn't bad last year. In a west coast offense where Jay gets the ball out quicker he'll look like a pro bowler ala Jermon Bushrod who is a bad pass protector as well.
-
And now he believes that Trestman can fix the things that he was criticizing him about. I agree with him, if he learns to do the boring things like learning when to check it down and his footwork like B4E alluded to he will certainly be an MVP candidate next year. That sounds really homerish but I truly believe if Jay buys into the system he will be "Great".

http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bears/post...ke-cutler-great Boom. Cutler for MVP.

I'd like to see Rodriguez as an H-Back with a guy like Jared Cook at TE. An impact WR isn't needed you're right, but could you imagine Mike Wallace being the speedy guy? But ya, putting big money into a WR could hurt us in the future both financially and with the development of Jeffery.
-
Its not what the meatheads wanna hear but I agree....Furthermore, I wouldn't mind Webb at LT and spending the money on a TE or hell why not a WR?
-
I was with you until he was named to the pro bowl so I looked deeper and saw he was injured so I thought that explained his low rating and now after reading that his low, but still positive rating was due to being good in the run but bad in the pass.

It's funny because I've been the one tooting Bushrods horn the most around here but just last night I saw something that makes me agree with balta.... From Walterfootball.... Yup, if this is true, balta's right....I started out down on this guy, then he made the pro bowl so I thought I was wrong and I really wanted him, now count me down him again. The Saints whole line could be going through the Brees effect. but...With Trestmans west coast offense I think the Line and Cutty will benefit from shorter passes resulting in Cutler throwing quicker passes. That said we may not have to spend a ton of money on the line.....color me confused on what I want on the line. I'm on the Webb train right now...at LT

lol I was just giving you a hard time....but since were here and this board has been dead....Myriad? That's not exactly the word to use here with his 2 issues. Weed and he stole someones scooter helmet before he even played a game at UGA. Compare that to Marshall assaulting an officer, domestic violence, driving under the influence, and disorderly conduct among other things. Marshall is case and point that people can change and you can't hold such little things against them.

Gotcha. I really think Bushrod will be ours. We're gonna have the money and I don't think there's a chance the Saints can bring him back. They have to cut more than 20 million just to get under cap, they can't afford the 7 or 8 million he's gonna get. Here's a nice article about Kromer with some quotes from Bushrod who spoke highly of Aaron. http://www.nola.com/saints/index.ssf/2013/...nsive_l_16.html

It was kind of a shot at Jason over our Webb argument...I also agree with Carimi getting 1 more shot with no excuses over being injured.

I see 2 of the 4 being a reality, I think you know which 2 those are.
-
Ya, you're the 3rd guy to mention him, myself included. I'd love it as a "joke" 3rd string qb who could grow under Trestman. As a Northwestern fan I saw him in a game against my Wildcats and despite not looking that good I remember a few drives where he looked like he had some potential. He's also got some some pretty good wheels so he would work if they wanna move to using the read and pistol more often.

Free agency is before the draft so we can't wait around on the draft.
-
You mean you weren't one of them Mr. I don't want Ogletree cause he smokes a lil weed lol JUST KIDDING. Hard not to like this guy, he's been nothing but positive since getting here. Him working with Alshon is fantastic and why I think he'll no doubt develop into a #2.

They take a big hit... Fluker is said to be "a RT or maybe even a guard" Oday Aboushi- "best suited to the right side in the NFL" Kyle Long- Didnt even start and played LG for the most part at Oregon. Getting hyped because of his bloodlines. Dallas Thomas- Another guy who played LG. Then we get into 3rd round talent and with no 3rd rounder we get into 4th round talent. Kromar might be able to work more magic in the middle rounds (or maybe even the above guys) but we'll have a lot of disgruntled fans on here(we already got people who can't wait for a 24 year old Webb to develop). That's why I think it's safer to pick up a guy in FA.
-
A Giants scout also said "That's my LT" they pick a slot above us sooo.... If they don't bring back Beatty chances are they will take him if he's there at 19.

I've only got 1 post in this thread because well...I really dont care....but I got roped into watching Dr. Phil and I think things might get a little more messed up. Tui was hesitant to use the voice that he used so many times on the phone and Dr. Phil had the FBI examine his voice and they said theres a 1 in a 10,000 chance or something like that that was him on the phone.....I really don't have an opinion cause I really don't care but I don't think this story is over.

So he sucked in preseason?? awesome. That really shows how much he grew as a player during the season. Yes, there is another explanation, he was a slightly below average player that continues to grow as a 24 year old player. He nearly cut his penalties in half 13 to 7, false start penalties from 8 to 3, and sacks allowed from 14 to 9 (with 4 or 5 of those in 3 games against Aldon Smith and Clay Matthews where he was left on an island trying to defend 2 of the best sack artists in the league). Let's say the questions about Lane Johnson taking a couple years to really develop weren't answered in the senior bowl...Would you take him knowing he might suck for a year or 2? that's basically whats going on with Webb, he was a 7th round prospect that is continuing to grow.
-
Can't really judge him just yet...yes so far the draft class hasn't been that good but it's only year 1, it could take a couple years for them to really shine. Hardin could end up being a good player, he's got really good size and speed (4.3 6'3"). It'll be intriguing to see what they do with him and I've got high hopes for him. Evan Rodriguez was poorly utilized last year and I expect him to take off in whatever role Marc puts him in. We all like Jeffery and who knows maybe SMC puts on some more muscle and becomes a dominate DE. I kinda doubt it but who knows, his moves are really more suited for standing up. It's still got a chance to be a good draft and you can't be down on him already....and come on man...who cares what he looks like, he played college ball, he paid his dues, he's not some straight up dork who knows nothing about football.
-
If he's in the budget I'd be all for Avery, I think you're spending a bit much though.
-
Goodwin would certainly make this team a lot scarier(how on earth is he projected as a 3rd rounder) and I had Rodgers in my mock so I like the way you're thinking. I see now Goodwin 5'9" which is prob why he's a 3rd rounder. If he runs past everyone then his height doesn't matter.
-
You may be spending a bit too much money. I can live with that draft but it wouldn't be my favorite. I'd rather get a LB in the 1st and a TE in the 4th.
-
how low do you think Teo's awareness rating will be in Madden?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3l5uI550OVw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dqtpspoupE I'm not seeing the play you described....If you watch these videos you'll notice it's almost always just him vs. Matthews on an island. With Matthews speed you've gotta have some extra protection in there. Don't let him set a wide edge because you're gonna get burned no matter who you are (you'll see Joe Staley get burned for 2 sacks amongst others) The blocking scheme has got to be better.
-
Whatever man you're obviously set with your opinion on him. Can't wait to hear you complain when he's on the line next year.
