Pretty good write up on him on Purdues website.
-
Agreed, his speed and burst is just not there anymore and due to the nature of his knee injury probably won't get that burst back...If they continue with the lame float him in the middle every play he might still be able to contribute but he won't be anywhere near the same sideline to sideline player. If they wanna bring him back at no more than 2 mill then sure but it may end up being a detriment to the team cause you know he's gonna start as long as he's here.

Not explicitly broken down? It's a a play by play rating, how much more broken down do you want? I was watching some clips from games last year.... Aldon Smith- 5 sacks, 3 of those were on Gabe Carimi, 1 was on Jason Campbell who held the ball forever, and one was on Webb. Clay Matthews in GB- 3 sacks, 2 were on Webb, 1 was a stunt inside where Spencer couldn't stop him. Matthews at CHI- 2 sacks, both stunts or loops as the commentator called it He was struggling with these guys but he was literally getting no help. How hard it is to put a TE on Matthews or Smiths side when playing them? These guys are elite sack artists and they're going 1 on 1 vs J'Marcus Webb. Oh and... Jared Allen in Min- 0 sacks Jared Allen in Chi-0 sacks

Much faster... Steltz- 4.52 Nelson- 4.38
-
There are still "experts" who say he's not a finished project so it's not crazy to think that. At this point I wouldn't wanna risk him not being there.
-
If they don't have the money to resign Roach then sure. Roach was pretty good a MLB when Brian went down.
-
Because I'd rather not have a high draft pick sit on the bench...Either draft an unfinished product in the mid-late rounds to develop or draft an LB that can start right away when Brian is gone. If they draft an LB in the 1st or 2nd this year and Brian is back I'll be ticked.
-
If we MUST take a guard in the first I'd prefer they just trade down where Cooper could still be there or grab Warford or a Jones plus pick up a 3rd rounder.
-
I disagree, if 54 is back you grab a LB prospect in the later rounds, if he's gone an early round should be used.
-
I see Johnsons stock has risen quite a bit since the last time I checked out his scouting reports. The question is...How high? 3 of the 4 mocks I've looked at have him gone before 20.....Then what?
-
And not a single draft pick was used on the OL. It doesn't look like they added a single guy on the OL. I guess the above poster is right. EDIT- nevermind, Koppen was signed after being released on the last day of training camp. So Koppen at C and they moved the backup C to RG and the rest of the line was the same

According to ratings he was awful last year. He's clearly lost a step or 2. It's really hard to say goodbye to a guy like him though. If he comes at enough of discount to do what we need to do then I guesssss.
-
And they're usually top 15 picks.... last years top 5 LTs Joe Thomas- #3 overall Jake Long- #1 Ryan Clady- #12 Jordan Gross-#8 D'Brickashaw Ferguson-#4 I always sound like a broken record but IMO, Joeckel and Fisher are the only sure thing next decade type of players. Johnson is a toss up. They have money to get a guy like Bushrod so why not use it on our obvious biggest need? Draft a middle round backup T and let Kromar go to work on him like he's done with all the mid rounders in Nola

Found this on a Bengals fan board..it was from a sporting news scouting report, the link he provided is no longer valid. And here's a link to a youtube channel that provides 3 different scouting videos, Special Team (which I've watched and he looks good as a return man), Pass defense, and run defense...quality is bad but meh it's something http://www.youtube.com/user/8475718?feature=watch

Agreed on all aspects. I don't know where at but I expect both to be on the line next year...Unless Carimi doesn't show up stronger and bombs in camp.
-
https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2013/...ffensive-lines/ I want better than adequate at LT but Webb deserves a shot somewhere on the line.
-
Stop it. He was not that bad. He DESERVES a shot at RT maybe even LT.
-
Obviously, which is silly IMO. If they add speedy talents like SMC and Ogletree to the LB core AND had guys like Melton and Peppers getting to the QB don't ya think that makes the defense all the more scary? You can still use Briggs and Roach in coverage (and let them attack at times, switch it up so they don't know who's coming).
-
Used properly as a guy who blows the top off the defense sure. The short screens and such gotta go. But as a #5, I'd like someone better than Hester and Weems brought in to be the #4
-
I just think with players getting faster and more athletic particularly at the LB position it's a shame that we weren't getting pressure from the LBs AND the DLine. The 3 sacks in 2 years isn't at all sad to you? In a 3-4 you can still have one or 2 of your LBs float in the middle of the field and also bring pressure from 1, 2, or more. It's no surprise to me there are only 2 teams using the cover 2.

He does indeed appear to be of Indian decent.. Can't find any info on the 2nd question http://www.bceagles.com/sports/m-footbl/mt...sai_sean00.html They also both appear to be special teams coaches. Desai was the ST/RB coach at BC last year and as you said Stukes was the ST coach for Tampa note on Densai that is encouraging- from above link

Signing Cliff Avril would admit failure to SMC IMO...He would then be the #4 DE behind Pep, Avril, and Wootton. While I for one don't think he'll amount to much as a DE, the front office apparently does.... Almost have to spend money on the OL.
-
Fancy, I've always thought he was a good guy. Nice to see him continue working in the NFL.
-
I for one thought they did but that's because I trusted Mike Tice when he said the Oline was gonna be ok. Our LBs have 3 sacks in the last 2 years, moving to a 3-4 allows you to get more pressure on the QB and thats what I wanna see. SF LBs have 53 in that time period.

You mean teams you have to beat to win a super bowl?? So you're saying they fed on weaker teams which to jasons point makes the teams success on defense somewhat of an aberration.
