  1. Considering Zach Miller is turning 32 and is made if glass. Gimme Hunter. He is an all around TE much like Marty B was.
  2. I think even a child could evaluate drops. The fact of the matter is he was cut by the browns and was on the streets for 8 weeks before signing with the Bears.
  3. Reading Houslers rotoworld page is kinda scary. He was brought in by the Browns to be a pass catching TE, and there were quotes from Mike Pettine saying he needs to work on catching the ball. He also apparently had trouble with drops his last year in AZ as well. Yes he's had somewhat productive seasons in the past but those are some pretty damning things to read about a guy who is your #2 behind a fragile Zach Miller.
  4. This was in reference to the 2nd round.
  5. I'm not so sure it would be a reach. It's rare, but I have seen Henry in some 1st round mocks.
  6. Considering his injury history and age, I would absolutely draft one. I think the 2 names dawhizz brought up are actually pretty solid and I think the 4th round is fair. Ohio State doesn't really utilize their TE all that much and I think that is why his production isn't all that great. He looked really solid in drills at the combine catching everything. Adams has that former basketball star(in HS) profile. Henry in the 2nd would be interesting. I think they've done enough in free agency to where they can think about it. I would go a little lower and say 60/600 if healthy.
  7. Again, I don't know what goes on around the practice fields and all that, but when words like him being malcontent and stand offish get thrown out there, it sounds to me that he wouldn't wanna sign back here. I suppose they could have franchised him if they really wanted to though.
  8. I hate getting into these types of arguments because the fact of the matter is I have absolutely no clue what goes on behind the scenes or how these guys act off the field. It's one of those things we are blind to as fans but speculate about nevertheless, and when you speculate there will always be people with different views and thus arguments like this occur. What does seem clear is that he wasn't going to be resigning next year. So would you rather have him for a year and let him walk or get a young cost controlled player for the future?
  9. If they release him I wouldn't mind getting in on the action. Probably wouldn't get in on a trade. He want great in 2014 and was hurt all of last year. Wouldn't want want him at his current salary.
  10. I quit reading after the opening line about writing/reading a book.
  11. Yeah, Lawson isn't slow, but he's also not Von Miller. I wonder what Lamarr Houston would run these days in the combine events. At the combine he was 305 pounds and ran a 4.85. These days he's listed at 270. I'd venture to believe he would be in the 4.7s. I would prefer they hold off on an OLB. Maybe find a fast UDFA and have Fangio mold him into that future speed guy. If the draft fell like draftteks mock I would try and trade down. Washington needs corners and Hargreaves, who I'm not sure is the type of corner Fangio wants, fell so lets say they come in and offer up a 3rd round pick to move up. 1. William Jackson CB- Fits the "Fangio mold" of a bigger corner. Bears are said to like him. 2. Jason Spriggs OT- Big athletic LT 3. Chris Jones DL- No chance he actually falls like this but hey.... 3. Jayron Kearse S- Everybody likes Kearse. 4. Jerel Adams TE- Wanted Nick Vannet, but upon review of Adams the kid is intriguing. 4. Kevin Hogan QB- I tend to agree with Drafttek in that Hogan will be taken earlier than some past mocks, late 4 sounds right. 5. Cyrus Jones CB- Great return man and CB depth 6. Max Tuerk OL- This guy was talked about as a 2R player before injury. Could be huge value as the backup to all 3 interior spots once healthy. 6. Keith Marshall RB- Another potential steal. 7. Dan Vitale SB- I think he gets taken a few rounds higher but maybe that's just the homer in me. He could add a lot as a 7th rounder.
  12. They were actually 6-10 last year. Way I see it, Marty was gone after this year anyway, so would you rather have one year of Bennett or a young, cheap potential starter for 4 or more years? As a fan on the outside looking in we don't really know what's going on in the locker room and all that jazz or know just how much having everyone "buy in" matters to a team......At a work place, if you are vocally noncontent with your job, what happens?
  13. From what I've read, he has a few offers on the table and is expected to make a decision this week. Wouldn't mind the Bears getting in on the action.
  14. I would love Kam but with him being a headache in Seattle, I have a feeling they might not go after him. I know the headache he has caused is over money and the Bears could give him said money, but still something tells me they wouldn't go that route. Would love to be wrong though. Tony Jefferson would be at the top of my list. He's been a solid playmaker at safety, young, and while he is a RFA, there would be no draft pick attached.
  15. Yeah not bad for a guy who was most def gone after this year anyway. Hearing there might be a 6th or 7th coming back as well.
  16. Still making multi millions in the NFL so he must not be that bad. My whole argument way back when was he was slightly below average with potential to be slightly above average.....well he just got paid slightly above average money. So =p Anddddd I'll stop.
  17. Certainly would be intriguing. One note I wanna bring up. They noted that we don't have a Terrell Suggs. I honestly believe McPhee and/or Houston can be that guy. Suggs isn't a speed guy, and outside of Alton Smith, all of Fangio's OLBs in SF and Baltimore have been slower more physical guys.
  18. I don't think they're looking at him as lead back. He would be nothing more than a 3rd down receiving back who could possibly even play some slot.
  19. Dunbar is a quality receiver, even played some lined as one. 21 receptions in his first 3 games before getting hurt (over a 100 reception pace). Hillman IMO is not that very good. Dunbar at least adds a plus receiver out of the backfield/slot.
  20. I'm just pointing it out for Shits and giggles. Took a lot of crap on this board over him.
  21. JWebb Nation still alive. Signed a 2 year deal worth 6.5M.....And you guys said he would be out of the league years ago. =p
  22. It is kind of annoying. I don't know who is to blame, whether it be the FO or the media, but when word gets out about players being a distraction and that you will release him if they can't find a trade partner, you lose all leverage. I'm hoping the fact that it has been quiet on the Bennett front means they either changed their minds or it was all false reports to begin with. Keeping Bennett would be huge.
  23. I ironically I think Robinson is one of the more overrated players in the draft. That's fine though, I knew I would be alone on this, but I love his upside. I think the senior bowl week is the biggest test for a lot of players, and mainly defensive linemen who were consistently doubled in their college careers. What Butler showed me at the senior bowl was that he is gonna be a force at the next level. I know he was up against college offensive linemen, and this is a fairly weak offensive line class but still, I think it translates to the NFL........I don't think the Mo Wilkerson comparisons will come to fruition, but Mo Wilkerson is a top 3 defensive lineman so that is lofty expectations. If he makes it to the 2nd round and the Bears draft him, I will be beyond ecstatic.
  24. It is possible they think highly of one of Ego, Sutton, Unrein, or Washington, and could totally ignore DL in the draft, but I think that would be a mistake. This is one of the best drafts for defensive linemen in quite sometime and they should grab one in the 1st or 2nd. I really like Jackson, and that very well could be the pick, but right now I would prefer to go elsewhere (OL or DL).
  25. Stanley is arguably BPA and fills a huge need for Baltimore.
