Well whatever they did in those 5 games keep doing it, it yielded 5 sacks and 5 dominating wins....why stray away from it?
-
A lot of decent undrafted DT still on the board, guess we'll just get one when its all said and done....McCoy was an all american returner and was the defensive player of the game in the poinsettia bowl (though he doesnt sound like that good a CB)
-
when the line was healthy they gave up 5 sacks total in 5 games. Cutler was on pace to be sacked 36 times, same amount as Aaron Rodgers whose team went 15-1...if it stays healthy its not as bad as it looks
-
Had Billy Wynns name typed out again but he JUST went....How bout Cam johnson?? hes still there, move idonje back inside for good....if not any DT/OT/OLB will work for me Marcus Forston DT miami or DaJohn Harris DT USC both look like good prospects too, id take one of them if theyre there
-
Judging by some the responses here we'll be sub .500.... NOW when you jump back to reality and remember this team was reallly good last year before it was bit by the injury bug I'm gonna go with 12-4
-
ouch once again admins do your job lol

Cant hate on this pick, Nevada was the 28th ranked pass D in college last year and he was their best guy. Lead the WAC in pass breakups...good depth move
-
oops got beat go ahead and delete this

Lead the WAC in pass breakups last year, sounds like a good CB depth move, cant complain

it was merged, im not an admin but thinking along with them we didnt need 3 threads that were all the same -
During the Bears 5 game winning streak, when the line was healthy they gave up 5 sacks in 5 games. Plus getting out of martz system and adding the weapons they did is going to help immensely. I think Cutler was on pace to be sacked 36 times last year if he played the whole year...know who else got sacked 36 times (in 15 games) Aaron Rodgers...and his team did pretty good didnt they?

to go along with what was said, his head coach at Temple was Floridas OC while Hernandez was there...so the comparison goes deeper than just similiar size, speed, and position.
-
He was projected to be a 5th-6th rounder....Bears had no 5th Lets wait to see how hes utilized before we go crazy here, Ive read numerous scouting reports that compare him to Aaron Hernandez and if he gets utilized like him then you'll be "eatting crow" (dont really know what that means but i see a lot of people on this board using it) "Evan has been compared to current Patriot TE Aaron Hernandez in more than a few ways. Not only are both similar types of players on the field, but both had the chance to be coached by current Temple head coach and former Florida OC Steve Addazio" http://www.nepatriotsdraft.com/2012/03/eva...-interview.html The interview didnt work on my POS computer but I like that the Aaron Hernandez comparison isnt just because theyre both have the same size and speed.

Judging a draft before these players hit the field is just stupid, we dont know what the coaching staff has planned for these guys.... On their board Shea was the top ranked DE available, everyone loves Alshon, Hardin was said to be a rising star in 2010 before his injury and he was brought in for a visit so who knows he could still be that rising star, and as far as this H back guy lets wait and see how hes utilized before we complain! The bears were obviously not lying when the said theyre satisfied with the OL, and if they played like they did during that 5 game winning streak then rightfully so! Couple that with the fact that martz is gone, they added more weapons, they added depth with Rachal, and the line will be just fine! They could use a DT but all you really need is a big body to plug in there, they can get that in 6 or 7 or even as an UFA Relax guys, we were pretty damn good last year before we got bit by the injury bug, Emery addressed that with the signings of Bush and Cambell!

As I obviously dont watch every college football game there is Ive been basing all my mock draft picks and who I like in the draft off scouting reports and theres not one out there that doesnt think Orson is gonna be very good in the NFL. They say hes a next generation TE/WR comparing him to Aaron Hernandez, how could you not want to add a Aaron Hernandez type player to this team. After reading your post I went ahead and looked at some game tape and really like what I saw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANlHh0hD-S0 Hard not to like what you saw there out of TE...and yes I saw the drops.... also he was UGAs team captain apparently so I think he might be a little brighter that what your giving him credit for....is your statement on his brightness based solely on the 1 DUI thing?? He was a college student....college students tend to drink
-
Off topic but,,,, holy shit would I love to get Orson Charles in the 4th round! Idc if he was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, someone has to take him and if hes there in the 4th for the bears, I'd hope theyd take him!

Chris Williams was drafted as a OT and I think he moves back there next year and our OTs will be him and Carimi. As it was pointed out on this board before CW has not looked bad when he was out there at LT so IMO the tackle spots should be set. Trumaine Johnson is a big 6'2" physical back with long arms who breaks up a ton of passes. This quote was on one of his scouting reports "an NFC scout who recently paid a visit to Missoula, Johnson has “rare physical tools” and he should be one of the first corners drafted based on his size, speed and potential." So if he's there in the 3rd like the WF mock draft suggests then hes a great pick here...Casey Hayward is the smaller of the 2 at 5'11" and seems to be the more intelligent ball player. Perrys a first round talent without question IMO, in the WF draft hes taken 7 spots after the Bears pick so that shows its not much of a reach. My whole mock draft is based off a completed mock draft so I made this pick looking ahead and there are no impact DE there in the 2nd round. Cam Johnson is there in the 3rd round but what that tells me is he's not an impact DE and I wanna see the Bears go for a DE in the first or 2nd. When I read the scouting report on Irwin I was shocked to see the WF mock have him going in the 5th round too, and once again thats what my mock is based off of is the WF mock so do i think he'll be there in 5th? not a chance but I'm just going off the mock I saw.

I for one am not worried about the WR core this year, BM is obviously a number 1. I think Bennett, with his connection with Cutler going back through Vandy, is a SOLID #2 who I think can really develop into a #1b and IMO thats not even up for debate. I also think if hes utilized properly, like a Brandon Stokley, Hester will be a real good #3. I think people forget that not too long ago Hester put up 700+ yards in a season and if utilized correctly I dont see why he cant have another good year this year with more weapons around them or at least put up good #3 receiver numbers(500-600yds id say). I took a look at the 2008 Denver Broncos, the year Cutler went to the pro bowl and put up over 4500yds and IMO the receiver core is just about a push, but the Broncos didnt have nearly as good a running game as the Bears have this year. BM=BM I think Earl Bennett has the potential to be better than 08 Eddie Royal, if not its only because the bears will run more than that team thus lower numbers in the passing game. As I eluded to earlier I think Hester can equal what Stokley was for that team. Stokley had 49 receptions for 528 yards, worse numbers than what Hester put up in 08 09 and similar to what he put up in 10. Weems can also take over on kicks and punts so Hester can focus on WR The other 2 WR on that team were a 30 year old Darrel Jackson in the last year of his career who put up a whooping 12 catches for 190 yards. Then you've got Nate Jackson who managed 11 catches for 84 yards. I think there's really no question that Thomas and Sanz can at least match that. The 08 Broncos did have 2 TEs with 30+ receptions, and in the mock drafts I've posted I do have the bears taking a TE...But the Broncos only got 33 rec from all their backs combined so having Forte and Bush who are both excellent in the pass game so i think that more than makes up for it, along with the fact that I think Sanz and Thomas are a distance better than the 2 Jacksons Denver had. That Broncos team was 8-8 even though they ranked dead last in takeaways, 2nd to last in points allowed, and allowed 2337 on the ground compared to last years bears that were 11th, 14th, and gave up 1542. The Bears out rushed them by 200yds as well even without Forte for 4 games and this year we have an even better backup. All those things considered you've gotta believe this team is AT LEAST 2 or 3 games better than that Broncos team and 10-6 or 11-5 will almost certainly get you into the playoffs and once they get there, if everyones healthy they can surely do some damage. With all that said I'll even throw in my up to date mock draft based on the latest Walterfootball. 1RD Nick Perry DE USC ----- I wouldn't mind going with a CB here but I think the DE class is too weak to wait.....I know people will ask why i didnt mention OL here and thats simply because I'm going off a mock draft and can see my OL guys there in the 2nd for me and that guy is... 2RD Kevin Zeitler G Wisconsin -------I love the idea of bring in another Wisconsin OL, year in and year out they always seem to have the best OL in college so its not a bad thing... If Lance Louis or anyone really can make the transition to LG then I'd love to see a Williams-Louis-Garza-Zeitler-Carimi O-line next year. any guard combo works really, I just like the idea of havin the 2 Wisconsin guys next to each other. 3RD Trumaine Johnson CB Montana or Casey Hayward CB Vandy -------- Love what both the scouting reports have to say about them, I think either or would be a good pickup here. 4RD Ladarius Green TE ULL ------- This pick has been on walterfootballs draft every time I've looked at it and I've agreed with it from day 1...Only problem I see with him from the scouting reports is hes not much of a blocker but in Tices system thats not as much of big deal as it woulda been last year. This guy looks to have huge upside coming out of the 4th round. Him with Davis gives Cutler the 2 TEs he had in Denver. 5RD Bruce Irvin OLB WVU ----- I think this would be an amazing pick up in the 5th, one report I read has him as a top 50 prospect in the draft. Very raw but who better to coach up a raw LB than Briggs, Urlacher, and Lovie. Dude ran a 4.38, thats crazy talk for an LB. Writing all that has served its purpose in making me sleepy..

They wont...itll be Marshall, Bennett, and Hester
-
Excellent analysis, my thoughts exactly....With a good receiving RB and the TE being implemented more into the offense Cutler already has 5 weapons he can go to in Marshall, Bennett, Hester(who I think is gonna have a big year), Forte, and Davis....Bringing in 2 more starters would be a bit much

Chris Williams=LT
-
I understand where both are comin from....Wesson seemed to be calling for 3 starting WRs, and was being called crazy for it and what Jasons trying to get across is that we did not get 3 starters, we got 1 starter, 1 4/5 receiver, and 1 ST guy....Yes they got 3 WR but the latter 2 will be lucky to catch a combined 25 passes next year..
