eh if hes there in the 2nd i wouldnt hate the pick...Id rather they go DE OL in the first and 2nd but I think hed be a great pick in the 2nd...would not take him in the first tho, nor would i take any WR in the 1st, too many good 3-4 WRs that are goin in the 3rd or later
-
what rounds he supposed to go in?
-
I believe we have our LT in Chris Williams, we're looking for an OG/C IMO
-
I think with Chris Williams and Roberto Garza the bears can take the the best O-lineman period...If thats a Center, you can move Garza back to OG and Williams to OT, If thats an OG you can move CW to OT, and of course if thats OT then you keep everything the same....I personally wanna see a healthy Williams and Carimi as our OTs next year they were projected to be. Williams-Silatulo-Garza-Open Comp-Carimi ....sign me up

Forgot about the KC game....I'm not worried about the 3rd string RB but I dont see how the Bears would be in trouble if they wanted to retain their 3rd string RB. I think itd be the opposite as it shows the Bears had depth there last year. Bell had 150+ yards against the Pack last year, I'd say thats pretty good.
-
Just to throw it out there last year vs GB.. Bell 23 carries 121yds 4 rec 38yds Bush 23 carries 78yards 3 rec 19yds....Really liked what I saw out of bell last year.
-
Meh, I guess....Woulda liked that money thrown at say, Manny Lawson.
-
why?? So we now have Forte, Bush, Barber, and Bell??? I dont hate the move but I liked Barber as your short yardage guy, and Bell looked pretty good last year too. I feel this money coulda been used elsewhere.
-
I wouldnt say the DE class is weak, theres just not a lot of depth there. After Coples, Ingram,Upshaw, Perry and Mercilus theres not gonna be any impact DEs left IMO. Thats why I'm hoping they go DE 1st round, though I wouldnt be disappointed if they go OL... WR in the first? No thank you. You draft a WR in the first round if you need a #1 or #2 receiver and I feel the bears already have that with Marshall and Bennett. Sounds like the Bears are gonna utilize Hester more also, probably in a way theyd use a guy like Kendall Wright, so I see Hester as being a good number 3 option. So the bears need to be looking at a #4 receiver and this draft is really deep with talented WRs. Unless they really like a guy that dropped to them in the 2nd I dont wanna see the Bears draft a WR till the 3rd or later...Guys like AJ Jenkins, Marvin McNutt, Juron Criner, Greg Childs, Tommy Streeter, and Dwight Jones are all guys that will be there in the 3rd and 4th round.
-
Why are the Bears even looking at bring in another RB?? I know Barber blew that one game but I think he's a good compliment to Forte, and I also like what I saw out of Bell last year too. Idk how much money Bush is gonna make but I think itd be better spent somewhere else.
-
Mannn anyone else used to draft him late in madden and put him at DE, he goes from like a 70 somethin to a 90 somethin...havent followed him in real life but has he played any DE??? If he came cheap I would like that signing.
-
Man Im becoming obsessed with the Wisconsin OLs over here..If we go OL 1st and 2nd round like some have said in this thread I'd love for it to be Konz 1st and Zeitler 2nd. Williams-Garza-Konz-Zeitler-Carimi. I think havin 3 guys from the same Oline in college will benefit them all with their familiarity and itll maybe make them push each other.... I still like goin DE in the first but if Emery wants to address the OL the first 2 picks how cool would be if it were those 2....Talk about a comfort zone!

Ive posted my mock draft here before but, ive been up since 630 bored so i threw together a new one based on the walterfootball.com mock draft. 1. Whitney Mercilus DE Illini I would Like to see them go DE 1st round, I think you'll get your best value at that position. Anybody playing opposite Peppers is gonna get single teamed so having a guy like Mercilus who had the most sacks in college last year (albeit he only had one year of great success) would be a great addition. Staying in IL and playing with veterans like Peppers and Izzy will on help the young man. 2. Kevin Zeitler G Wisconsin I think he could step in and play RG right off the bat next to his former teammate Gabe Carimi. Their familiarity to each other should only help them, though it may not matter since I think Gabe was LT and Z was a RG, but still coming from the same college system should help them play well together on the right side. 3. Tommy Streeter WR The U Debated going CB here (Minnifield or Hayword) but to satisfy Wesson I'll go with Streeter here, the 6'5" WR with "vines for arms". That'll give us 4 receivers 6'4" or taller BM 6'4", Streeter 6'5", Davis & Spaeth 6'7". If that doesnt scare other teams in the redzone idk what will. 4. Jamell Flemming CB OU This mock has him making it to the 4th round and if he does make it there thats gotta be the pick. 5. Brandon Taylor S LSU or Audie Cole LB NC State I think with Briggs and Urlacher to learn under you can wait another round on LB though im not opposed to going LB here. Or go Hayword/Minnifield in the 3rd and McNutt in the 4th, Mcnutts another big (6'4") WR....I like Flemming though in the 4th
-
Since this thread is basically talking about the Oline what about drafting Kevin Zeitler in the 2nd? Put the 2 Wisconsin guys on the right side, Williams at LT where he should be, Garza obviously at C, then have an open competition for the LG spot...Havent even paid attention to whos actually good on the line so idk who has the leg up on that spot.
-
Matt Moore is not that bad a QB (last year anyway 2,500yds 16-9 in 12 starts) that I think they'll have to draft one in the first, too many other holes on that team, like WR. OH Hai Brandon Marshall
-
Bears can just wait till the 3rd or after to get their WR, a guy like Toon or AJ Jenkins and they'll be fine. I think the addition of BM will pay huge dividends to the rest of the WR core, I think Bennett and even Hester will both have good years. With Martz gone and Tice running the O we're gonna see Davis catch a lot more balls this year too. I can realistically see. BM 1300 yds Bennett 800yds Davis 500yds Hester 600yds Forte 400yds Thats 3600 yards not including Sanz, Spath, backup RBs, and your #5 WR (weather that be a cheap FA OR a late round draft pick) So give me a cheap FA WR or go draft one in the late rounds, no need for both.

As an illini fan I hope that DE is Whitney Mercilus, dudes a beast!
-
I swear it wasnt there a second ago... mods you know what to do

http://chicago.sbnation.com/chicago-bears/...-extension-2012 Still wouldn't mind another TE in the draft, Orson would make me poo myself but I wouldn't mind a guy like Ladarius Green in the 4th.
-
naw I dont think so, I'd rather they address the lines in FA...Build a stronger Oline and ride Forte while/if Marshalls out...I'd love AJ Jenkins from the Illini in the 4th or 5th round and grab a TE in the draft as well. Forte running the ball with Bennett/Hester/Jenkins/Orson Wells or Ladarius Green will be serviceable till Marshall comes back....has the schedule came out yet?
-
I dont think they need to address WR early in the draft, Marshall is an obvious 1, Bennett with his connection with Cut I think will be a good #2, Hester in the slot as a deep threat, then I'd love to see them grab A.J. Jenkins whos projected as a 5th rounder in the draft, then Dane is a serviceable 5 and Weems is there for depth and a special teams ace. I posted this on soxtalk (idk if its all the same people here that it is there) RD1 Whitney Mercilus DE RD2 Jayron Hosley CB RD3 Bruce Irvine OLB RD4 Ladarius Green TE RD5 A.J. Jenkins WR I think this would be a perfect draft If the bears can address the oline and S in FA.

i was watching pros vs joes today and did you guys know Bob Sapp (MMA fighter) was a 3rd round draft pick of the bears in 97, im kinda tired so i dont feel like looking up any stats but did he play at all for the bears, or any team for that matter, and was he as big as he is now a days???
-
I'll disagree with the 2 previous posts to a certain extent. The only player worth even thinking about trading up for if you're the bears is Jake Long (IMO even McFadden would be a waste behind this line). At the same time you'd have to trade a ton of picks and you'd have to pay a ton for him seeing as youd have to trade up to the top spot.
-
if this is how the first 13 picks of the draft shakes down then theres no doubt i trade out and the cowboys are the first team i talk to. They've showed interest in Mendy and i think they would trade us one of there 1st rounders and a 2nd rounder to get there man at 14. Id then make my draft look like this (once again im going by this mock draft) 22. Branden Albert OT or 28. Gosder Cherilus OT 44. Duane Brown OT 61. Jordy Nelson WR 75. (I may get bashed on this but i think hes gonna be a good NFL QB) Chad Henne QB 90. Heath Benedict OT 106. Steve Slaton RB 134. Athyba Rubin DT 166. Quintin Demps S 204. Jacob Hester FB

McFadden could perform a lil bit better but once again not to his fullest potential with this line. The jets are planing on grabbing McFadden and you see what the did?? added Faneca and Damian Woody because they know without a good line there good running back is going to be wasted, which is exactly what is going on with the bears, bensons getting wasted. He's a between the tackle runner and when theres no holes to run through then hes screwed because he does not have the speed to go left or right. if we bring in guys that will allow benson to run up the gut then he will be an effective runner for us.
