Reports are one of the reasons teams like Dak is due to his strong character and leadership. This incident might say otherwise, but I don't think teams are that worried about him.
-
Certainly won't see me on that bandwagon. Alshon/White should be a helluva duo. I love that Alshon is working out at Unbreakable, which is a gym owned by Jay Glazer and Brian Urlacher. They do a lot of advanced stuff that should keep him healthy.
-
Even they noted that he looked impressive down the stretch. Combine that with his solid 2013 and 2014 and there is reason to believe he would be a really solid pickup. Hard to imagine why they have Raji and Knighton ahead of him. I'm guessing because they think they're better NTs than Hicks is a 5T.
-
Have to think the Bears didn't think he was worth the 11th pick either. There was no risk of him being gone, and they decided to add a 2nd ILB.
-
I'm not sure I would go as far as comparing him to Manziel over 1 DUI, but I do tend to agree on that I would now rather draft someone else.......They do like Dak though, and if they think he's a future starting QB, I won't hate.
-
That's fair, though Raji has played a lot of DE actually. Lets go another direction. Malik Jackson the last 2 years has 88 tackles and 8.5 sacks. Hicks his last 2 years as a starter had 96 and 6.5.
-
I've read where the Bears really like Dak.
-
Charlie Casserly...The #Bears might have the best 34 ILB combo in the NFL with Danny Trevathan and Jerrell Freeman @nflnetwork Matt Miller.....Ranked Freeman and Trevathon 2nd and 3rd in his ILB rarankings. Not just free agents, not just 3-4 ILBs, just ILBs period. Has Keuchly as the only ILB ahead of them. PFF..... Has them ranked 2nd and 6th among all ILBs. Pretty incredible stuff. Fangio has his Willis/Bowman.
-
Yep. Last 2 years as a starter(so excluding last year when he was apart of a rotation) in NO he had 96 tackles and 6.5 sacks......Raji's previous 2 years he had 43 tackles and a big ol goose egg for sacks. Raji is nothing more than a name these days IMO.
-
Raji that far ahead of Hicks is silly. Last year Raji- 444 snaps 22 tackles .5 sacks Hicks- 399 snaps 23 tackles 3 sacks Their best year. Raji 6 years ago- 39 tackles 6.5 sacks Hicks 3 years ago- 56 tackles 4.5 sacks I wouldn't hate Knighton, but I've read that the Bears weren't interested at all last year, so I'd be surprised if that changed.

Pretty darn close. I still expect Montgomery back to push Grasu, still have hope for Hicks, and I suppose Miller or Gresham would be a worthy alternative to Green who is gone already. Houston got their QB already though, so there goes the draft part of my dream. With them taking Freeman instead of Marshall, they still have their 2nd so it could still look similar. I still don't really think Reed would be a reach at 11, nor would Spriggs be a reach in the top half of the 2nd.
-
No, I know what you mean, I just don't agree. I think they're all best suited for a back up role. With them going after Hicks, they obviously see the need for at least one starter. If they do get Hicks you can make a case for those 3 battling for the other spot, but I would prefer they all be backups. As I stated though, I do like the depth there in the draft, and wouldn't mind waiting till the 2nd.
-
Yeah, very meh. I'm sure it didn't cost much though.
-
Yeah, I would love to trade down if possible. I will say I'm not 100% against a QB. I don't think Leno is a MUST replace. With Fuller, Porter, and Callahan, I don't think CB is a MUST in the first. A lot of depth in the draft at DL means they don't HAVE to grab one in the 1st. Unless Ramsey falls, there isn't a first round safety. There is no first round TE. OO, WR, and LB aren't needs. We all know I'm a huge Cutler backer, but with what they've done thus far in improving the defense, they shouldn't be picking this high anytime soon so it could be a prime time to grab a guy for the future. Zeke wood be highly intriguing. I would hate to discard Langford, but I can't pretend that Zeke wouldn't be an upgrade.
-
He was in rotation with 7 other pretty good DLinemen in New England. Only looking at the 21 tackles doesn't tell the whole story. For some reference, Hicks played 399 snaps and got 21 tackles and 3 sacks. Jenkins played 635 and got 32 and 4. 10 tackles and 2 of those sacks came in 1 game.
-
They are deep with back up DEs IMO. They obviously wanna upgrade the position(see interest in Hicks) and if they don't get Hicks or Fairley, it's a need. Even if they sign Hicks, I would still like another one in the first 2 rounds honestly......Unrien, Ego, Sutton, and Washington are all backups IMO. I wouldn't hate to see a competition between those 4, but would prefer 2 starters. All that said, I do like the depth in the draft at DL, so I wouldn't mind waiting till the 2nd. I'm coming around on the OT in the first idea. Eli Apple is getting some love as the 2nd CB off the board, so Hargreaves(or Apple) might make it down to 11 and I wouldn't mind that pick...
-
He's really solid in coverage as well.
-
Like this signing as well, thought he was really solid.
-
HUGE. I love it. I know PFF gets a bad rap around these parts, but I'm gonna point it out anyway, Freeman was their 4th ranked ILB last year. So that's their 4th and 6th ranked ILB.
-
You weren't the only one. Lol
-
Hicks has starting exoerience, and played really well.
-
Its a fake report.......I wish
-
That would be huge! I liked Trev more because of his age, but Freeman was actually the better player last year. I've said many times that I don't really like the depth at ILB in the draft(because I don't like my ILBs to be bad in coverage), so I would love to double up in FA.

I hate this discussion and was gonna avoid but.....Cutler can be cut THIS year and the Bears save 4M. So, if you guarantee they would have cut him last year if they could, why haven't they cut him this year when they can? Does the guarantee still stand? Tomorrow is actually when the whole contract becomes guaranteed.
