  1. If they go Jack 1st round, Lee wouldn't make any sense in the 2nd. I'm gonna assume they add Hicks, Gresham, and a starting safety. Also gonna throw a wild card out there and say we sign Matt Moore to back up Jay. At that point I would go.... 1. Myles Jack ILB 2. Vernon Butler DT 3. Le'Raven Clark OT 4. Nick Vannett TE 5. Harlan Miller CB 6. Dan Vitale SB 6. Alex Lewis OL 6. Deon Bush S 7. Matt Johnson QB
  2. Resigned with Seattle. A little surprised they are looking at hideouts.
  3. To me it is 100% age with Forte. I don't think they are Super Bowl contenders with or without Forte this year, and come playoff time 2017 you're talking about a 32 year old RB who has had a high usage rate throughout his career.
  4. Lol, if they sign both him and Miller, one of em is bound to stay healthy right?
  5. TE Jermaine Gresham in for a visit. Dealt with all sorts of injuries last year, and shared time with Eifert in Cincy before that. Wouldn't be a bad move if healthy, probably would be cheap.
  6. Pats had a lot of talent on that line. Ninkovich, Chandler Jones, Alan Branch, Malcolm Brown who was their 1R pick last year, Dom Easily who was their 1st round pick the year before, and Jabaal Sheared who had 22 sacks his 1st 3 years. He would be a McPhee-esque type addition in the sense that he was pretty solid in a limited role.
  7. Bears obviously wanna get younger no matter what. He could have said he'd play for the vet minimum and they probably would have passed.
  8. According to the NFLPA, the Bears still have 31.4M in cap space......According to Over the Cap, the Bears rookie pool will cost 7.3M. So the Bears still have 24.1M in cap space to use on free agents. IMO, they absolutely need a starting safety and defensive lineman. A strong case could be made for another starting ILB, defensive lineman, and offensive lineman depending on how they view Timu, Ego, and Leno(an opposing argument could be made for those 3 IMO). Hopefully tight end doesn't come into the discussion as well. That's 5-6 potential starting needs. If they can come away with 2 more, preferably DL and Safety, I would be really happy going into the draft.
  9. It's 3/12. Pretty cheap, was still time to move on IMO though.
  10. I would be slightly disappointed, but probably for a different reason. I think it was time to move on from Forte, but really think they should give the gig to Langford/Carey. I will point out that Anderson just turned 25 whereas Forte turns 31 this year. Anderson the last 2 years has averaged 4.7 ypc, Forte hasn't reached that number in 5 years. I think they should stick with the guys they drafted, but IMO, at this point in their careers, and where the Bears are right now, Anderson makes more sense than Forte.
  11. @bradbiggs #Bears contract for LB Danny Trevathan short of the $28M range. Total value is $24.5M with $12M guarannted and $5M signing bonus. Trevathan has $1.5M base salary this season with $3.5M roster bonus. He has annual workout bonuses worth $100K each season. 2017 base $2M 2018 base $5.8M 2019 base $5.8M plus $500K roster bonus Trevathan base salaries in 2016 and 2017 are fully guaranteed. That is insane in this day and age of overpaying free agents. Anyone know what the cap hit would be?

    What's next

When it comes to his production I dug a little further into it than just looking at his stats. He only played 399 snaps last year. The Pats had 7 DLinemen in rotation. For comparison, Malik Jackson played 825 snaps, more than double the snaps but not double the production.

    What's next

As for what's next, I'm hoping for Hicks. Love his length. In my ideal world we add 2 long starting Dlinemen to go along with Goldman. Past that S Bruton makes sense, wouldn't cost much, and has some potential upside if given the chance.

    What's next

I could be wrong here, but I'm not so sure that 10M would reflect on this years cap. Shouldn't an extension be just that, an extension of his current contract meaning he still gets paid the same this year but the years where he makes 10m is just added on? If that's not the case, then I would wait at least till the end of the off-season.
  15. Yeah, Massie is a plus against the run, if they move Long to RG, there gonna be opening up a lot of holes on that right side.
  16. I think your underrating Quiz. Solid 3rd down back. Good pass catcher and if I remember correctly, he is also one of the better guys in the league at picking up the blitz.
  17. Glad Quiz is back, solid veteran RB who is fine as the #3 or possibly even #2. Don't know much about Becton other than his draft comparison was JWebb, so I obviously love him. Lol
  18. Calhoun looked pretty good last year. I would still add competition/depth though. Preferably in the first 4 rounds. Solid move bringing Porter back.
  19. The Packers model is they draft well, which in turn results in them paying their own. Bears are not yet at that point, and will have to hit the free agent market until they start racking up consistently good drafts. As for Massie, I'm cool with it. He's always been an up and down player, but hopefully with his buddy Long there to push him, it's more up than down.
  20. Alex Boone to Minnesota.
  21. I do think its highly unlikely, and that's why the thread I made was titled a "Dream", but they would absolutely have the money for Allen and Bruton even with the investment in both LBs. If the rumors of Bennett and Rolle being gone come to fruition, even after signing Trev (assuming the deal is around a 7M cap hit) they would have about 48M.
  22. Haven't looked into it, but I'm guessing they were 4-3 OLBs not 3-4 OLBs. In response to other posters, the Bears IMO, have the cap space to make the move. I think Marshall would fetch the same amount as Trev, and as I posted in my ideal mock offseaon, they can manage making the move.
  23. Not sure where your coming from with the slightly above average comment. Marshall is really good. I know you hate PFF but he ranked as their 6th best ILB. I would do it, but that's just me. Outside of maybe Jack I gaurentee he's better than any rookie they can draft.
  24. Giggity. Exactly what I thought it would cost too.
  25. I traded down with Houston to get a 2nd rounder back....actually forgot in this dream scenario that that trade should get the bears another 4th rounder as well....going back to edit. I think a 2nd for Marshall is worth considering to keep those 2 together.
