  1. Unless a team with a top 10 pick offers him a contract, you gotta hang on to him. If they let him go and he turns out to be Megatron for the great of his career the FO would get crucified. He's a top 5 talent when healthy, and it's not like he's been injured more often than not. I even hesitate at a top 10 pick to be honest.
  2. Reading it might be the nonexclusive tag that is put on Jeffery. According to Leming that would mean he can negotiate with other teams but the Bears can match any offer or take 2 1st rounders. I expect them to match, but 2 first rounders would be pretty intriguing. Reading Alshon wants market value, one of getting him market value would be to actually test the market with the Bears having the option to match. Would be interesting to see how much teams are willing to pay him, and where those teams pick at. Edit.....it is indeed the nonexclusive tag.

Reading about Fangio dropping his ILBs, it is kinda similar to the Lovie-2 actually.
  4. Excellent. Hope he comes here and gets utilized exactly how Northwestern utilized him. For a guy who probably gets drafted in the 4th or 5th rounds, he could bring tremendous value to the team.
  5. Yeah, I was underwhelmed. The film still looks good and I wouldn't hate the pick if he falls to the 3rd though.

I know AZ hasn't been on the Lee train, and I look forward to his talent evaluations the most on this board, but I for one think this kid, with the right coaching, is gonna be pretty damn good. Probably gonna be something better there at 11, but I would love to trade back to say 15 and draft him. I go back to the thing I read about Fangio having Willis and Bowman dropping into coverage more than any other LBs, and that is what Lee gives you the ability to do and do it very well. Get stout up front and let this man buzz all around behind them.

    TEs

Ha, sadly its pronounced Va-tal-e vs Dicky Vs Vy-tell. Still could do it though. Lol He's got short arms, but he's a willing blocker who is built like a brick shithouse. I still kinda think Marty will be back, and he would complement Vitale well.

Yeah, Vannett is looking solid. I still like the idea of an Aaron Hernandez type paired with Bennett or Miller, that guy would be Dan Vitale.

    Mid Round QBs

I like Hackenberg a lot. I just think he had shit around him the last 2 years. I have a feeling he goes to the Texans in the 2nd or 3rd though. I still like Hogan and Prescott in the 4th.
  10. Zettel was one of only 3 guys who had arms measured at less than 32". Maybe you're thinking of Nassib?
  11. Length is something I think really needs to be stressed this year as far as the DL goes. Jones has that length at 6'5" with 34 and half inch arms. Other players I like with those long 34"+ arms are Buckner, Brunson Kaufusi, Adolphus Washington, and Vernon Butler(who has 35"). Carl Nassib might put himself in the conversation for me if he shows me some strength in the bench press. Kaufusi is kinda in that same category where I'm not sure what kind of strength he's working with. I suppose you could also put Kevin Dodd and Emmanuel Agbah in there as well, but both of those guys would have to put on some weight to play the position. Oakman, as expected, has great length but he scares me. I've never seen a football player with as tiny a legs as he has. A'Shawn Robinson has good length, but I'm not sure he brings much as a pass rusher and I think we need at least 1 guy at the 5 who can get in there. If we get that type of player in FA, I wouldn't mind Robinson. There are a few later round guys with length that I'm gonna have to look into. I think we address it early, and in FA, but they might want a little more depth as well.
  12. I wouldn't mind Fairley one bit.
  13. I don't think he can withdraw because he already has an agent......I do however think that he doesn't have to sign and that would give him reentry into next years draft. 5th round might be a stretch. Hopefully it's a bad comparison, but Marcus Lattimore, who wasn't as highly thought of as Smith, went in the 4th. I think that is Smith's floor.
  14. Yeah, I think depending on how well FA goes, I would take that chance in the 3rd.
  15. That's a huge bummer.....I guess that's what I get for wanting a ND player on the Bears as a ND hater.
  16. Others are saying the same now too. I hope they get something long term done. The 14M Cap hit wouldn't be the worst thing, but a long term deal would lower that number significantly.

    RB 40 times

Vitale, up against RBs, had the 2nd best verticle and the 3rd best broad jump. Combined with the 30 reps and a respectable 40, I think he could end up going as early as the 4th round. Patriots are said to be interested, and he would be be perfect in that Aaron Hernandez role.

    RB 40 times

Not all that interested in a RB before maybe the 5th at the earliest if at all. I like the idea of a Super back errrr I mean H Back like Vitale though.
  19. No surprise here. Can't let that man walk.
  20. Here is what I got out of the doc over on Soxtalk Me- Paging Ptact.... Jaylon Smith is already walking, but is wearing something called a AFO. A guy on Twitter who may or may not have 17+ years as an NFL phycisian says that would indicate nerve damage. Earlier reports said there was no nerve damage. What gives? Does the AFO 100% indicate nerve damage, or could it just be part of the rehab? I was just starting to think the Bears should take a chance on him in the first, but this would knock me back out of that consideration. Ptact-(the doc) An AFO is an Ankle Foot Orthosis. Its a plastic brace that goes along the back of the calf and into the shoe to hold the foot up. This could be a significant problem. It is used when soneone doesn't have control of the anterior tibialis muscle which bring the foot up into dorsiflexion. It is used with people who have has strokes or a paralysis of the tibial nerve which winds around the head of the fibula. This really has no place in rehab for the ACL. However, he also had some lateral knee damage. He could have injured the nerve at that point. The good news is that nerves can heal for about 18 months so he will regain at least some back. The bad news is teams won't know how it will heal before the draft. I'm not sure why else he would be wearing an AFO, unless the lateral knee damage was repaired in some odd way that they needed to stabilize the lower extremity but thats grasping at straws. .... Me- That's a bummer. Just 2 days ago I was reading articles on him and was getting excited about the possibility of drafting him at 11(seeing as a lot of guys are calling him a top 3 prospect and comparing him to the likes of Patrick Willis and Derrick Johnson). I guess it could be a good thing as he's probably gonna plummet in the draft. Considering what we know now, would you consider him in the 2nd? 3rd? Ptact- If it was a significant nerve injury I would think it would be making the news rounds by now but who knows. I would think closer to the draft we will find out. Im sure teams will get medical reports before that.
  21. Ugh, it was reported weeks ago there was no nerve damage and that's why I was considering him in the 1st. Trying to get info from the doc over on soxtalk to see if the AFO could just be part of the rehab. If there is indeed nerve damage, I'm out. ACL/MCL seems like no sweat these days, but nerve damage is indeed a big deal.
  22. I know he played the position in college, but after seeing him for years now, I'm just not so sure he will be any good at OLB either. Especially now that he lost the weight to play inside. I have no problem with bringing him in as a backup, but that's all he should be at this point.
  23. 49ers were bad so I would guess teams were running the ball late into the game which gave Williams more chances to make tackles.
  24. Depending on who is on the board, I think it's worth the risk. I may be alone on that, and that is fine, but we're talking about a several year investment here. When I see experts saying he could have been the top player taken and comparisons too Patrick Willis, I drool.
  25. Hearing some Tashaun Gipson buzz out there as well. He was really good in 2014 but fell of quite a bit in 2015. Could be a great time to buy on him at a lower cost and let Donatell/Fangio work some magic to get him back to to his pre 2015 level.
