I read he filled in admirably as a starter last year and that he's a special teams ace. Doesn't sound like the worst addition in the world. Here's what everyone's favorite PFF had to say about him.... 8. David Bruton 2015 team: Denver Broncos What team is finally going to give Bruton a shot to start in the NFL? In a rotational role over the course of his career, he has put up a +9.1 coverage grade in 1,474 snaps over seven seasons. In the NFL, if you’re not a high draft pick and you’re not starting by the end of your rookie contract, usually it is impossible for you to shake the “backup” label. Bruton should certainly be given a chance to, though, next season. From the looks of it he's also a good dude with some leadership qualities.

Yeah, his stock seems to be back up. I read a scout say that he won't make it out of the top 18. With the way players are coming back from injuries I would have no problem drafting him. Hopefully while he can't do as much with his lower half, he's building some upper body strength. That's the only real knock I see on him. Jack is still #1 on my list, and i would freak out if he's there. I think there's little to no chance at that though.

Around 59M as of right now. Not sure of their cap numbers but I'm guessing on of Rolle or Mundy get cut at some point pushing that number over 60.
-
No surprise here. Add another 4M to the cap room.

I just wanted to bring that up without creating a new thread.....Should have picked a different one. Certainly not trying to create a new "Everyone agrees" with an added element. With news out that Smith MIGHT be ready to play a lot earlier than expected, I think he gets picked in the top 20. I know many will bring up the whole White thing as rationale to not take him, but I don't think you should look at the past when thinking about the future.
-
The more I think about it, the more I hope they can trade down and pick up an extra 3rd and 4th. At 15 I'm more ok with drafting Ragland, taking the risk on Jaylon Smith, or taking Sheldon Rankins who I'm debating about at 11 anyway. 6 picks in the first 4 rounds would be incredible.
-
Did he not look fast? That's all I'm saying. The 3rd RB on most teams blows anyway. Carey showed a lot and I think he'mm be a capable #2

I brought up the bringing in Harrison and moving Goldman outside thing, and a lot of people weren't fans, but I would still love to see it. Same goes for Williams.
-
I really don't even think he's stirring the pot here, people just have to look at context.

Just 1 minute before that tweet he sent out this link... m.chicagobears.com/multimedia/videos/ITB_Martellus_movie_night/1eaea6ad-8a14-4791-a5c7-1ed93c728588 ... Gotta look at the context. I'm 99% sure it was just him talking about the event. Edit. Not sure why that link isn't clickable. Link just says he held a surprise showing of his animated movie for kids club members at Halas Hall.

Know who else looks fast? This guy. https://youtu.be/7gJTvrPIHwU

Yeah, I think he's a guy who really elevated his stock at the senior bowl. 2 might a reach, buy I think he definitely won't make it to the 6th.

Bostic was a 2R pick. I'd be fine with Ragland, but I hope he loses the weight and can hang in coverage. The NFL seems to be moving away from thumpers in favor of versatile guys who can play both the run and the pass. That is what I want.

I'm ok with it. Wouldn't be overly excited but meh. Fwiw, I don't think Bronson lasts till the 4th, and I doubt they wait till the 4th to address DT....Unless they sign Malik Jackson.

Look in further than John Fox's 2014 Broncos team. The RBs that year were a 23 year old Ronnie Hillman and a 23 year old CJ Anderson. Neither of whom were starters previously...... I think that is what we see this coming up year. The fact that they didn't even discuss a deal, or even leave the door open for Forte tells me they're going with what they have. Senorice Perry was injured last year, so we don't know how much they like him. He does have 4.3 speed and can play special teams, so there's that. They may upgrade over him, but I would be disappointed if it was anything more than a 5th round pick.
-
A top 10 offense would be nice, but defense wins championships. Bears had about 150 less yards than the Broncos did last season and look what they did. Give me an above average line with a great defense and I'll be a happy man. A great offensive line with just an above average defense probably gets you no where.

A guy I really like is Cole Toner out of Harvard in the 4th. His stock is low into 4th due to lack of competition, but he really had a strong showing against a really solid DL group at the Senior Bowl. I forget who it was he took on, but they did a "best of 3" 1v1 challenge and Toner won all 3. I know it was one of the top DLineman at the Senior Bowl. I wouldn't hate Stanley at all, but I prefer defense in the 1st 2 or 3 rounds.

And I've agreed with that 3-5 round distinction. I've said before, in an ideal world they sign a starting OG (Preferably Osemele) and draft competition for Leno in the mid rounds.
-
Darron Lee will be a first round pick.
-
I for one think Leno was solid. They shouldn't hand him the job, but I wouldn't invest heavily in a replacement.
-
IMO 1 DE (preferably 2 but I think they could live with Ego/Sutton) 2 ILBs (I could live with Timu if they think he can grow but prefer 2 1 safety 1 corner 1 OG or OT depending on what they do with Long.
-
I disagree with this as well. At least I hope that isn't the thought process. The thought process should be as simple as they think they already have their replacements in place.

I really like Elliot, but I hope that isn't the plan. I don't want to see them draft one in the 3rd or 4th either. I know they rotated in 3 guys last year but I think that was more about seeing what Carey can do, and to me he passed the test. Our #3 right now is kind of a forgotten guy, esp. when it comes to the return game. Senorice Perry and his sub 4.4 speed. If they wanna add to the rotation, I would prefer a FB like my Vitale who could add a lot of things to the team.
-
I think the word "Plan" is the biggest key here. Forte was simply not part of that plan, so there was no need to enter any discussions. Sad to see him go, but it's time to move on and further develop Langford and Carey.
