    7 Round Mock

I'm not that big on Robinson in the top 15 or really as a pick for the Bears at all. I think we need to bring in a DLineman who provides some pass rush and Robinson isn't really that guy. He made 11 combined sacks and tackles for loss, Buckner made 27.5. I honestly haven't looked that much into offensive players yet this year, gonna have to check in on offensive linemen.

    7 Round Mock

Deone Bucannon is another solid comparison to Cravens. 6'1" 211 pound(throw the Cravens is too small argument out the window)former safety who lead the 4th ranked Cardinals D in tackles(112) at the ILB position. As for the Guard comment, I noted bringing in Kelechi Osemele in free agency. I drafted Johnstone tie compete with Leno.

    7 Round Mock

They're always watered down around thus time. If the draft played out like this, I would go with.... (Adding OG Osemele, ILB Trevathon, FS Iloka. Bringing back Alshon, Miller, Porter, Montgomery) 1R. DeForest Buckner DL- IMO, the DL lacks length, and Buckner brings a lot of that. I remember reading something like everyone on the 9ers DL when Fangio was there had 35 inch arms or longer. Longest arms the Bears had last year were 33 1/4 inch and that was Jenkins who is just meh. 2R. Su'a Cravens ILB- I love the idea of Cravens at ILB. I know people will say "Fangio will alter to the talent he has" but if the opportunity to do something similar to what made his SF Ds so good present themselves then why not? His ILBs were really good in coverage, and that was sorely missed here in Chicago. Cravens with his safety background would be really nice. I think I would prefer him to even Ragland. 3R- William Jackson CB- I like this pick by them. Good size, on the preseason Thorpe, Nagurski, and Bednarik watch list. I think Port comes back but he's always been an injury concern and he's long in the tooth. Callahan looked like he could be a quality #3, but after him, Porter, and Fuller there is nothing there. 4R- Tyler Johnstone OT- Competition for Leno. Another Duck. 5R- Kevin Hogan QB- He did a lot of things Gase/Loggains did with Jay with roll outs and moving the pocket. With that Stanford education and already running a similar defense, I think he's a really good prospect to sit behind Jay for a year or 2 and possibly take the step forward to being a solid starter. 6R- Dadi Nicolas OLB- HIGHLY doubt he drops this far, but if he does, boy howdy! Coming into this past season he was getting talk as a 1st rounder, but his production fell way off this year. He's still a freak project to take on and sit for a bit behind McPhee, Houston, and Young. 6R- Byron Marshall RB- A nice little scat back for behind Langford and Carey. Also takes over return duties. 6R- Nick Vannett TE- While not productive in college, I've read that scouts think he can be an NFL starter. I think Marty stays, but no chance he resigns the following year. 7R- Shaq Anthony OG- Thinking more about this, should probably hit an OG a little earlier. Though I suppose is Slauson or Osemele go down, you can move Long in and play Johnstone/Tayo.

    7 Round Mock

FYI, Calhoun would be an OLB in a 3-4, so I don't like the pick in their mock because I think we're fine at OLB, and I don't like the pick in yours because he's not a 3-4 DE. Also not a fan of a Ragland/Scooby combo because neither are particularly good in coverage. I'll do a mock based on this later.
  5. If the plan is to compete next year, which it should be, I would be cool with giving up a 6th for Gabbert.
  6. Just read a stat that said Lynch was 49% on intermediate throws (10-19 yards) which was one of the worst completion percentages in CFB. That's an ugly stat for a guy being considered as a first round QB.
  7. The market is down for real estate this coming year. 2 of the too "Houses" on the market are thriving in a bad market (Wentz and Lynch didn't play top competition). This to me just isn't the year to draft a QB in the first round. I liked Lynch a lot at one point but not as a first rounder. Wentz is projected so high because the QB draft class blows. (Your quote got messed up due to my tablet being on the fritz)
  8. Wouldn't be shocked if he was a damn good DE. Lol
  9. Not so sure it's deserving, but nice to see. He'll have a nice chance to soak in some info and practice with pro bowl OTs. I think this time next year, he'll deserve the nomination as a pro bowl OT.
  10. I'm meh on Miller being the guy. He's not really an inline TE as he doesn't block all that well, so that could be a problem for a team looking to run the ball a lot. Having him out there on running plays could prove to be an issue, and they could be forced to either take him out. That coupled with injury concerns has me hesitant.
  11. What I love about the write up for the Henry pick is all the bring up is Miller being a free agent, completely ignoring Bennett still being on the team. I am coming around to letting Bennett go, bringing Miller back, and drafting a TE(because you can't bank on Miller), but I'm not sure I'd grab one this early. I liked Robinson, but he's another guy who was non existent in the championship game, and his stock should drop. That Bama DL is filled with early round talent and I think they all benefit from each other. I've said before I'm fine with Cardale in the 3rd but I would prefer they wait till the 4th or 5th to grab a guy, or to simply grab a vet. I'm fine with Johnstone, let him compete with Leno.

    Ragland

Stanley-Slauson-Grasu-Osemele-Long would be incredible, but I do wonder how they feel about Leno. He was solid and should only get better.. I'm cool is they wanna give him another year or if they wanna upgrade or if they wanna give him some mid round competition. I would prefer they go ILB/DL, or maybe corner depending on how they feel about Porter, in the early stages.
  13. Still curious who people who don't like the Loggains promotion wanted. Mike Mccoy got 3 votes on an earlier poll but he stayed in SD errr LA......He's also had seasons worse than Loggains year in Tennessee.

    Ragland

Latest I read was the injury was not as expected and he'll make a full recovery. Maybe 11 is too high for a guy who's gonna miss half the season, but man, dude is special. Long term I would love to have him on this team and I'm a ND hater. All my ND fan friends say he's the best defensive player they've ever seen at ND. Would love to trade back or trade up from the 2nd to get him. I don't think there's a way he drops to us in the 2R. As for the OL, I'd like to 2nd a name AZ brought up, Kelechi Osemele would be fantastic. One of the best guards in the league and he even played LT a few games down the stretch. That type of flexibity coupled with Longs flexibility would be huge. Let them both get reps in at tackle and whoever is better wins and the "Loser" goes to OG. Grab an OT in the 4th to compete with Leno, bring back Montgomery and boom, you actually have a solid line with great depth.

    Ragland

I know people are scared off by injuries because of White, but if I were in charge and Jack or Smith are there, I would have a tough time passing. With them apparently keeping Long at OT, it'll be interesting to see if they go OT early. Leno was a pleasant surprise, and I might look into waiting till the 3-4 rounds and finding a guy to compete with him.
  16. Stealing this from our old pal Balta who posted this on another board....
  17. Who did the people not happy with the Loggains hiring want?
  18. chicago.suntimes.com/sports/7/71/1235186/eddie-goldman-named-espn Still get a kick out of TDs comment about Amos not starting within 3 years.
  19. I don't care to get into this argument because I won't pretend I know what went on with B like others are, but saying Amos probably won't start again within 3 years is just silly. Amos probably won't sit within 3 years barring injury. He was one of the best defensive rookies in the league. Also, that Jets team didn't overachieve. They were loaded. I won't put that all on B though.
  20. A bit more understandable, not completely understandable. Joey Porter is getting fined for being out there antagonizing as he should be. As you said, both teams are dirty as hell.
  21. And now we all see why Burfict fell in the draft. Dude is an incredible football player but good god is he a piece of trash. The Pacman Jones thing was a little less damning. Emotions were high and you have Joey Porter, an assistant coach these days, out there on the field talking shit around a bunch of Bengals players. Not sure what the hell he was doing out there. Jones obviously should have kept his cool but that is a bit more understandable.
  22. Here's some more info to throw out there in this debate...Saw this in an article.. And again, you can't ignore the fact that in his full year as OC they were 10th in rushing attempts and 23rd in passing attempts.
