    Timu promoted

Good stuff. He better get the majority of the snaps these last 2 games. I talked him up a lot after preseason, saying it looks like he could be a starter next year, and it would be huge if that turns out to be true.
  2. When healthy, Alshon has still been highly productive. He's averaging the most YPG of his career. I think with the leg issues, him being a little more chunky is to be expected.
  3. I brought up going after Damon Harrison, so I'm obviously a fan of getting big up front. Goldman has played the 5 in college, and I'm fairly certain he's lined up there this year as well. He's shown to be a pretty solid pass rusher this year as well, so he's more than just that anchor NT. You pair Goldman with Harrison, and youre simply not running that way. Still think Trevathon is a must. In the draft... 1. DeForest Buckner- I don't think there's anyway he makes out of the top 12. Goldman-Harrison-Buckner is just scary. 2. Su'a Cravens ILB- Cravens has played all over for USC, mostly safety, but scouts think his home in the NFL will be at linebacker. Obviously brings some cover skills as a former safety. McPhee-Trevathon-Cravens-Young/Houston looks pretty solid. 3. Tony Conner S- Fast, rangy safety to pair with Amos. Ole Miss has lined him up everywhere, so he's not afraid to mix things up in the box either.
  4. If I'm not mistaken, they're at 11 right now
  5. Not certain, but I think since the Bears have one of, if not THE "Best" strength of schedule, they would always pick last of teams with the same record.
  6. Smith doesn't have the size to play OLB in 3-4. I'm a Ragland fan as well, but like Jason said, there's gonna be better players on the board. Wouldn't mind trying to trade down and still snatch him up. I really think Travathon comes here though and that MIGHT take out the need depending on whether Fangio really does like Shea enough to resign him(I hope not). I would love to see Travathon paired with Jack/Smith.
  7. Assuming we grab a guy like Danny Travathon in FA, I would LOVE this pick. Buckner is a beast who probably doesn't make it out of the top 10. Goldman-Buckner is the start of a DOMINATE front 3.

    2016 Free Agents

Based on the "Undersized" defensive lines he deployed in SF I kinda doubt it would happen, but I would really love Damon Harrison. Goldman has shown a good deal of pass rush abilities, and he played some 5tech in college as well. Bears rank in the bottom 3rd in run defense this year, a line with Goldman and Harrison would be really tough to run on. Probably doesn't happen, but man I would love to see that. Malik Jackson or Derek Wolfe are probably more realistic. I think Travathon should be #1 on the Bears offseason board. Really solid all around football player and he's still young. I would LOVE Eric Berry. Latest report I saw on him was way back in September saying he played in 71 of 73 snaps so it looks to me that he's healthy and will only get better. Travathon and Berry, then a guy like Reggie Ragland(Or hopefully Malcolm Smith) would go a long way in fixing the problems in the middle of the field.

    Zach Miller

You're comparing Forte and Bennett, when really you should be looking at who the back ups are. Miller has looked great, but he's also going to be a 32 year old who played in 4 games the previous 4 years because he can't stay healthy. Has he turned a corner health wise? Maybe, but if you plan on competing, are you really gonna hang your hat on it? Jeremy Langford is a guy this regime drafted just this year and has shown flashes of being a really good football player. Carey also has looked like a serviceable backup.
  10. FWIW, Jay also was limited in practice Friday due to illness. Not sure what type of illness or if there were any lingering effects, but yeah, just throwing that out there as well. Really though, it probably has more to do with DBDBs post. Hard to do much of anything with a sluggish AJ, a hurt Royal, you're 1st round WR not yet seeing the field, you're #4 who has played decent being out, and really, Martellus Bennett being MIA/looking disinterested.
  11. Agreed on Gould. Use one of the 3 6th rounders on a kicker.
  12. Obviously is a game we should have won and that Gould blew. I do take some solace out of the high powered Cards only scoring 19 points on the 9ers last week though. Not that it really matters though. Marquess Wilson had been showing signs of becoming a player and he was out as well. So the Bears were missing their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th wide receivers from the beginning of the year.
  13. When did we resign Chris Conte, and why did he change his last name to Prosinski? I don't know if Rolle is the answer next year, but it sure as hell isn't Chris Prosinski. MIA on the Gabbert rush for a touchdown, and blew the assignment on the OT TD. Not much else needs to be said that hasn't already about Goulde. Unacceptable.
  14. Apparently Marquess Wilson is out.
  15. This is the key to me. The OL really hasn't looked all that great, but Jay's ability to avoid sacks has been incredible.
  16. So I contacted yahoo and got my password(why i didn't do this earlier is beyond me).....How much do you guys like TD? Do I try and play spoiler(not that I can really put out a good team) or keep it as is since the rest of the league got to play my banged up team?
  17. Ha, nope, you're still safe.....unless I figure out a way to retrieve mY password. At this point I'm not sure it would be fair for me to even try and come back since the rest of the league got to face my team.
  18. Sadly I'm once again mistaken, and Marshall is a RFA. I believe all that means is Denver has the chance to match the offer, and with everyone else they have to resign, they might not be able to. Trevathon is probably the more realistic of the 2 Denver ILBs to switch teams. I'm a fan of his as well. He and Wolfe would be a good start.
  19. Not sure if this is the talkbears league I'm in (Forte oz to freedom) but if it is I'd like to apologize for not being active. Somehow forgot my yahoo password and can't get in for the life of me.
  20. FWIW, I've read that "You can bet on Wilkerson getting tagged." That pipe dream is probably merely that, a pipe dream. They're said to be letting Damon Harrison walk instead. Harrison would be really interesting. He's one of, if not THE best run stuffer in the league. Pairing him with Goldman would really sure up the run defense. Nkemdiche-Harrison-Goldman would be a pretty sexy. Not sure they go with that much bulk though. A guy I got my eye on with Wilkerson probably off the table is Derek Wolfe. Missed some time due to suspension which will drive his price down a bit, but dude is an all around good 5 tech. Malik Jackson is another name I like. One of those 2 and Danny Treveathon would be a good start to the offseason. Hopefully they enjoyed their time with Fox and wanna reunite.
  21. Yeah, the Dline could use another body down there. Jenkins hasn't really done much since those back to back good games, hard to read what we have in Ego since he's out, Sutton has been quiet most of the year. Goldman is a keeper, the rest are meh. I may be alone on this, but I really like the Acho/Houston rotation opposite Mcphee. As the season has gone on Houston has started to look healthier and looks more like the player we hoped for last year. I wouldn't hate to see a a faster guy brought in, but I'm not so sure it's needed. I know Porter is injury prone, but dude is probably a borderline pro bowler right now. He's been fantastic. Fuller has turned it around as well. Callahan looks to be a guy as well but it's early. With those 3 and this staffs ability to coach up the secondary, I probably would wait a bit on CBs. Amos is for sure a keeper, and I'm not sure what to think about Rolle. I'm indifferent on replacing him. The safety crop doesn't look all that great in the draft. ILB looks like the other need to me. Staff seems to love SMC, Jones has been meh. Honestly Jonathon Anderson has looked better than Jones, and I would like to see more of him. Unless Anderson steps up and wins a look for next year ILB and DL are what I'm looking for in the first 2 rounds.
  22. I presume they won't let him go out there if he isn't 100%. If he is indeed 100%, then why not get his feet wet?
  23. Previous 2 years he played in every game. So you can look at it half glass empty and say he hasn't been healthy for "half his career", or you can look at it half full and say in all actuality " Half his career" is really jist 11 of a possible 58 games. Jeffery is no doubt a top 10, and probably a top 5 WR in the league when healthy. He's worth the risk.
  24. Yeah, just rewatched it. Still though like Jason said, being flushed right, throwing across your body/field, is typically a big no no, especially in tight spaces like that play was. Might have worked, might not.
  25. I may be wrong, but it looks like the open spot is on the practice squad. I THINK if White was put on the PS he could be plucked by another team. I may be wrong on that. We will indeed know tomorrow what's going on with White.
