I am, and its not good, though his OL is doing him no favors.... I also read some stuff that has me souring on him just a bit though. I guess 67% of the 1200 yards he's put puts yards after the catch. Essentially he nickels and dimes but his receivers are so good after the catch that its making him look great. He's still nickel and dimming with great accuracy though.

I don't think Cook is bad, but I also don't think he's top 10 worthy. I think he'll be a starting quarterback in the league, but not one who's gonna be a franchise changer. If you have a great D he's someone you can win with, but he wont win games on his own. Goff is the only top 10 QB in my book, but IMO, he'll go in the top 5 and I don't think we'll get a shot. Which I'm fine with because I think Jay comes back for another year and hopefully gets to play with some healthy weapons. Get your guy in the 3rd or 4th, play em behind Jay for a year or 2, if he looks like a starter in this league, great, if not grab another one high.

Well Kessler has a game in 2 weeks @ ND so I guess we'll see how he holds up in what is likely cold weather. Kessler is an inch shorter than Boykin. He's also 2 inches taller than Russell wilson who you used as an example in the last post. Ah, the ol USC QB convo. Carson Palmer has fared pretty well. Mark Sanchez hasn't been awful with the weapons he's had. Lienart sucked, I'll give ya that......Know who's breaking all those guys records? Cody Kessler.
-
Fair enough, I'm just going off a Bucky Brooks article I read not too long ago. Fwiw though, Russell Wilson is the only guy on that list you would consider a franchise QB. Even he hasn't looked that good this year.
-
Boykin probably isn't even a QB at the next level. I like Goff quite a bit, but there certainly are some questions there. I think Jay sticks a year and the bears draft a QB after the 1R. Kessler is my guy.

Another example a poster brought up on another thread was Richard Dent. He was undersized, put on 40 pounds, and the rest is history.

5 tech. I do think Jenkins will be back, and Jenkins-Goldman-Ego/Sutton is solid so I would probably hope to trade down a bit and hope someone is in love with him enough to give up a nice little haul.

I've done a lot more homework on Nkemdiche, and I don't think it's unrealistic that he's BPA at 2. Dude has been double and triple teamed since stepping foot in college (was the unanimous top prospect in his high school class, so he got that reputation early). I really don't think the Bears pick 2nd though. With Jay out there and the defense playing the way it has the last 2 weeks(assuming its legit) I think they pick more in the 5-10 range. So conversation about Goff and Nkemdiche are probably gonna be moot.

Look at who the OT they called up compares to.... http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/nick-becton?id=2539660 I like him already

The 2013 man crush of a lot of you guys, Barrett Jones signed to the practice squad. Sherrod Martin and Nick Beckton OT(who?) have been promoted from the PS. In a few surprises, John Timu, who I have talked up a ton has been released and Terry Williams has been released from the practice squad. Maybe the Bears don't like Timu as much as I thought. He probably comes back on the PS but subjecting him to the waivers and PS are pretty shocking. Thought Williams would at least stick on the PS.

From what I've read and remember, being able to cover is huge for ILBs in Fangios system so I think that is probably why Foster didn't stick(and probably why Bostic stuck around a bit longer than most thought). Yeah, Shea hasn't really been bad at all, not sure he's been "must resign to start" good, but certainly not bad. I haven't even noticed Christian Jones this season, not sure if that's a good or bad thing.
-
ILB is topping my list right now. I don't think SMC and Jones are bad, but when you look at what Fangio had in SF, Patrick Willis and Navorro Bowman there's a big drop off there. Hell, I wouldn't mind signing Marshall and still drafting Jaylon Smith. The DL still has some depth if the resign Jenkins which at this point it looks like they should. Jenkins, Goldman, Ego, and Sutton is a good little rotation. The need for Bosa/Nkemdiche has lessened with the emergence of Jenkins. I think Rolle sticks around fir a year and takes a mid rounder under his wing.

Props to whomever is editing these posts. Bahahaha

I'm an ND hater, but I have seen a lot of em and yeah, Jaylon Smith is a baller. I wouldn't hate him being the pick at all. The draft is starting to become a little more interesting. A few weeks ago the Bears looked like they were in dire need of help in the pass rush and the secondary. The last 2 weeks that dire need hasn't looked that glaring.

Yeah, I played Cooper in draftkings and was just waiting for him to go off. Tracy f'n Porter held him catchkess in the 2nd half. Well done on his part. .... White isn't just a fast guy, he's also 6'3", with a huge catching radius who made a good deal off tough catches in college. A lot of spread wide receivers get poo pood on because while they may have been super productive, they were also wide open and thus didn't have to make the tough catch. That's why I think White is gonna be different than your Tavon Austin's and your Stedman Baileys, he's just a guy who seemingly can bully single coverage. I also love his drive, he's hungry, he's got that chip on his shoulder. I was watching his "Too Easy" highlight video and they showed some interviews and he just comes off as a guy who will work his ass off to be the best he can be. I think this injury might even motivate him even more.

Horrendous missed call by the refs. I hate Detroit but I honestly would have rather had Detroit win, and they probably should have. If the Bears were to contend I'm far more worried about the Seahawks.
-
Not to mention his potential impact in the redzone, a zone they've sorely missed having big targets like Alshon and White in.
-
One name missing on the list that I just noticed is Brandon Marshall, the linebacker of course. He fits the under 28 list, he knows Fox, and with his coverage abilities at ILB he's perfect for Fangios system. ILB is a little interesting as the staff seems to like SMC, but I'm not sure they resign him. I've heard they really like Timu, and judging from how he performed in the preseason, I can see why. Wouldn't be surprised if he starts next year or maybe even this year if Jones continues being meh. I had really high hopes for Jones, but again he's been meh and rather unnoticeable out there. Going into next year I would love to see Marshall brought in with Jones and Timu competing for the other spot. Marshall considers himself to be the best coverage linebacker in the NFL, and if you look at what Fangios likes to do, that is perfect.
-
They drafted him in the first round therefore I think it's safe to say the coaching staff had him as part of the plan this season. Thus he is missed. I really don't understand the confusion here.
-
White(6'3") is a different type of animal than Austin(5'9") and Bailey(5'10"). They were all speed while White is more physical
-
All really well said AZ. I certainly wasnt expecting the secondary to hold their dynamic passing attack to under 200 yards (stacked Carr and Cooper on draftkings). Very encouraging stuff. Gonna be an interesting 12 games upcoming. If Ratliff comes back hungry and the play of most everyone else holds, the D could be a lot of fun to watch.
-
In my opinion, if 2 of McPhee/Acho/Houston go down, I believe they could shift Jones, who hasn't been great in the middle, to OLB. I actually really hoped he got a look there at some point.
-
The confusion over the confusion is really confusing. White was a top 10 pick. Of course the Bears miss him. They drafted him to be part of the offense. It's not like we drafted a QB to sit behind Cutler ala Rodgers or something.
-
He had a thousand yards and 10 TDs last year too. The offense was just dulled down and predictable last year that's why he wasnt as good as year 2......you guys don't really agree, he said you have to sign him. He's no doubt a building block. Unless you sell out on offense to build a great D.
-
Yes really. They have to atleast franchise him. You don't let 26 year old pro bowl players go. You just don't. Everyone always talks about the Packers model and now we wanna dump one of the few good draft picks they made? If some WR emerged as a 1/2. (And I'm not talking White, I'm saying in addition to) then maybe you think about it. Could you imagine the backlash if they let him go and he stays healthy?
