Rappaport is saying he is progressing toward playing Sunday. Hopefully it has all just been them handling him with kid gloves.
-
Sadly unless he gets cut, he won't be a free agent, and I don't think we should trade for him. Marshall Yanda might be out there. Wouldn't mind seeing him added to the line making it Bushrod-Yanda-Grasu-Slausson-Long. Should be able to do anything you want behind that line.t

Lasike looks like he could bring some thump to the RB/FB position. Jalen Saunders and Lamin Barrow were added to the practice squad from outside the Org. I remember both guys being intriguing coming out of the draft...I think Barrow has the chance to make the 53 next year. Super athletic, former team captain at LSU, can hang in coverage.

Hopefully Long is good enough at RT this year that they shift him to LT next year with Bushrod moving to Rt. I don't think Bushrod is that good but still might give him a year at the lesser RT position thus eliminating the need for an OT for next year. CB is the position that looks to be the biggest weak spot so I would look to potentially go CB round 1 then OG round 2. I think Jay, like or not, sticks around 1 more year after this to get all his guaranteed money. At LB, I just think Fangio has a knack for coaching up LBs. Like I said previously in another thread, the way John Timu played in the preseason dude looks like a player in this league. It would not shock me if this time next year we have 2 UDFAs as our starting ILBs in Christian Jones and John Timu. At DL, I really loved what we saw from Ego, Sutton, and Goldman. I think that becomes our starting 3 for years to come. CB, OG, and S are the 3 positions I'm most concerned about going into next year.

Made a new thread for Mills as I think the news is pretty big.
-
Not that I think he's any good, but it is still miidly surprising. This coupled with the facts that 1. Leno sucks and 2. they just added a guy who is probably better suited at OG leads me to believe Kyle Long will be the starting RT this year.

You guys remember Barrett Jones? The OLineman out of Bama everyone was crazy about coming out of the draft and I was about the only one skeptical on....He was cut.
-
A little surprised Dunn made it over Williams. Dunn doesn't really do much for me.
-
Yeah, Houston has looked pretty damn good in preseason. Young has as well, but like you said the contract could have something to do with it. I'm hoping for either a decent draft pick or a OLineman.
-
Meh, he led the team in tackles, so there's that.
-
That's a good question. I don't recall him doing anything if he was out there. Hurt perhaps?
-
Foster is shocking. I thought he's been really good in preseason. Some might argue the best ILB out there. With the emergence of guys like Timu and Anderson I guess theyd rather see the Young Bucks.
-
Rosario and Pascoe waived among others. Zach Miller and Khari Lee are now the backups.
-
Groy was just waived. Is Wells still on the Bears?
-
Looking at Adams projected 53 man roster...Who do you cut to make room for him. Terry Williams who looked really good yesterday? C. Washington who may or may not be a fit? Or do you go 8 deep for a 3 man front? His knees do kinda scare me, and I'm not sure I wanna give up on Williams for a guy who might be broken.
-
Could just be coach talk but surprisingly both Bill O'Brien and Romeo Cronell did say his work ethic has improved. I would love to give a shot. If he pans out? Look out. Goldman, in my opinion, could play outside with Nix inside. That duo would be tough to run on.
-
I think we continue to go with a youth movement and pass on Dockett. Louis Nix was cut. A guy a lot of people wanted a few years ago out of Notre Dame. Wouldnt mind giving him a look.

Bears trade a 6th round pick for Khari Lee (Texans TE)

Eh, you were not a fan of giving up a 6th round pick because we have so many needs. Now we're talking about giving up a potential haul to move up. I get what you're saying with the Packers, but still. Next years class should be loaded. -
Thad Lewis played QB. Johnny is hurt. Timu has been doing work all preseason. Terry "Swamp Monster" Williams was once called the best NT in the draft by some site. Anderson is really the only guy who came outta no where for me. Dysert played was 1 for 4. Certainly looks that way. Gonna be fun to see how Fangio plays with em.

I knew I was intrigued by Timu when we signed him.....
-
Man, these ILBs though. Maybe it's the beer but both Timu and Anderson look like they could be something. The way they've played I wouldnt be shocked if this time next year we have 2 UDFAs as our starting ILBs (Jones and one of those 2). Swamp monster looked good too. That's why I dont get all up in arms about the Bears trading a 6th for a UDFA. Some guys just slip through the cracks. I'm gonna go ahead and admit I was wrong about Bostic. I've been a supporter of his for far too long. At this point I would be disappointed if he makes the team.

Bears trade a 6th round pick for Khari Lee (Texans TE)

40 times are far too overrated. Of the 12 TEs who ran the 40 at the combine this year, yes he had the slowest 40 time, but 8 of those players had a slower short shuttle. -

Good ol Fendi Onobun. He very well could be. Who knows, but for a 6th round pick 2 years from now, he seems like a player worth taking a risk on. -

Texans fans like him. Seeing tweets like "smh he was our best TE" "Dude has huge upside" "we don't know if the 6th rounder can play, we know Lee can" "dude is gonna be good in a few years". People look too much into the whole UDFA thing.
