I saw that somewhere too. I don't think they should draft one too high if they do a running back by committee type deal. IMO the only RBs you should draft high are ones that will be featured backs. Still think Forte/Carey could be a fine little duo.

This. David Irving is very intriguing if they felt he's a changed man/learned from his mistake. He was booted off the team for partaking in some sort of riot. Dude is huge like Armstead, 6'7" 280, and he has freakishly long arms. Last year people were raving about Clowneys 83 inch wingspan, well this guy has an 87 inch wingspan. Again, if they bought into him learning from his mistake and think he no longer has character concerns, he could be a huge get in the 6th round.
-
Exactly on that first line. I'd have to think about going Peat in the first round if I was the Bears....Or if they really think Long can make the transition to LT then maybe wait till the 2R and grab a guy like Laken Tomlinson to take over at guard.
-
Giving him some protection on the line would go a long way in rebuilding confidence. When googling "Jermon Bushrod and Jordan Mills pressure" I stumbled upon this tidbit.... So as far as pressure goes, we have 2 of the 3 worst tackles in the league... I'm sure this is a PFF stat and people will scoff at it though. I on the other hand believe it has at least some merit to it. After reading that I'm now finding myself wanting an OT in the 1st or 2nd round even more.

Ya, there's certainly no wrong choice between the 2, I just like White's tape a lot more. Cooper doesn't really make the contested catches which is the only thing I don't really like. His elite route running will get him open a lot and not have to worry about contested catches that much, but they will happen more in the NFL vs college.
-
IMO White is gonna be the better WR in the long run. Bigger, faster, stronger, much better in traffic, more reliable hands. Route running is the only advantage Cooper has IMO. But ya, not a fan. I do think we should be looking at a CB sooner than 4, and if we don't grab a guy like Stevie Brown we should probably look into a mid round safety to compete with Vereen and Rolle(I'd prefer Rolle at SS, but don't think it's out of the question for him to still play FS)
-
IMO, which is all I'm saying, my opinion, they should start it out with either Ego-Rat-McDonald or Rat-Ego-McDonald. Like I said Jenkins is still just 27 and I have acknowledged that it's possible he improves, he'll be in the running, but I think they should look to add yet another piece to the line.
-
Think they did that last year, not this year, at least I'm fairly certain. Bears still have around 7M I believe, and with so little out there in terms of free agents it wouldn't make much sense for them to try and create even more cap space this year.
-
Ya, fairly certain it's wrong. I'm positive Jays cap hit wasn't 21.5M before (Sportac has it at 16.5 now which it was before).
-
I'm not convinced that Ratliff or Ego are strictly NTs. I'm sure Houston will get a shot there as well unless he looks really good at OLB. He's a vet minimum player who was pretty bad last year, he'll get his shot there, but I'm not sure we should count on him starting.
-
Ya, the restructured bonus is from last year. Nothing new here.
-
Of course they'd have a nickle and dime package like every other team in the league. Stinger brought up that often times Fangio ran a 2-4-5 as his nickle/dime package. As far as Jenkins go, this tidbit from rotoworld pretty much sums it up for me... Of course he's still just 26 and can improve, but I'm not sure we should be thinking about him as a starter at this point.

Brad Biggs @BradBiggs 2h2 hours ago John Fox says #Bears will start Shea McClellin at inside LB but he will be worked outside as well. Brad Biggs @BradBiggs 2h2 hours ago When I said Shea will start that means that will be the first place he is lined up at when #Bears get on field -- inside vs outside So ya might wanna add some more combos lol.

Has Ego been given props as a NT? I know guys here have said he can play the position but don't remember the staff saying anything. I think both he and Jay can play DE. I am starting to think that McDonald will start though so it does throw somewhat of a wrench into them both starting. I'd still love Shelton but I will say that I have somewhat backed off after the McDonald signing. At this point, with some solid depth at CB through the 2nd round, I may be even more open to White/Cooper/Schreff/Peat/Collins over Shelton/Waynes.....And I could wrap my head around an OLB as well though I'd prefer to go elsewhere.
-
IMO you're missing a few likely DL options.... If Houston is really an OLB then at this point I'd go with either Ratliff-Ego-McDonald or Ego-Rat-McDonald. I just don't see Young or Allen as DLinemen in the base 3-4. I think there will be sub packages where we could see thous guys with their hands in the dirt though in a more of a 4-3 under type look.....I of course have been all about drafting Shelton as I think Ratliff-Shelton-McDonald could be a handful. The LB group is gonna be the most interesting part. I think Foster and McPhee are locks. From there it really could go any number of ways. Personally I would love to see Jones get the other OLB spot because he can also drop into coverage thus allowing them to disguise coverages and where the blitz is coming from. For instance, I read that Fangios ILBs dropped into coverage more than any other ILB group, teams will probably still look for that, but occasionally they could drop Jones back and bring heat from inside to throw teams off. With all the other guys out there I kinda doubt this happens. I really have zero clue, but I do think Young will be looked at more as an OLB though, and Jones moreso in the middle. Way I see it is Young, Allen, Houston, SMC, Bass, Washington, and hopefully Jones all battle for 1 OLB spot, and Bostic, Jones, a draft pick, and perhaps even SMC and Foster if he isn't a lock battle for 1 or 2 ILB spots.

Again Marshall, by all reports, was being a distraction in the locker room. It wasn't about his off the field stuff, it was about him rubbing guys the wrong way in the front office about how he handled himself in the locker room. I think it had little to do with his off the field stuff. I know some people here don't buy into PFF ratings, but McDonald was ranked 12th of 48 3-4 DEs last year. He's also played the 3rd most snaps of any defensive player in Fangios defense the last 3 years only behind Justin Smith and Ahmad Brooks. He's been a big part of a top 5 defense the last few years. I'd say he's well above average.
-
Also, not signing older players because the team wasn't good last year is just silly. We have a really good coaching staff right now. John Fox has turned shitty teams into good ones twice, and Pace was apart of a New Orleans team that went 3-10 one year and followed it up with a 10-6 season where they went to the NFC championship game.

Here's an interesting text back and forth between Ray, the girl, and a cop that takes over texting for the girl (which doesn't seem right). Here is where the cop takes over. Assuming what's going on here is true, while perhaps not the gentlemanly thing to do, if a drunk girl was coming on to you, probably close to or over half the male population would have sex with the girl. If a woman comes on to you in an impaired state, while you yourself are impaired, is it rape? Serious question. If it is indeed rape then I've raped a few girls in my lifetime...

I'd still go Shelton if he's there, but that's me. McDonald very well could end up being a starter but if Houston is an OLB now I'd still love to see Ratliff-Shelton-McDonald as the starting front 3. Ego-Ratliff-McDonald or Ratliff-Ego-McDonald or Houston-Ratliff/Ego-McDonald/Ego are all certainly possible as well. The last mock I did I had them drafting 3 defensive linemen, that certainly changes now.
-
IMO the difference between Marshall and McDonald is Marshall was a distraction in the locker room. I've read that McDonald is a good teammate. If the guys in the locker room buy into McDonald and leave the the off the field stuff off the field it won't be a distraction. Fangio has been around McDonald the last 4 years and certainly had some input on the signing.

Supposedly not done yet according to Michael Wright. I'd bet it gets done though. Too much smoke for there not to be a fire. EDIT- Michael C. Wright @mikecwright 5m5 minutes ago Agent says deal agreed to by Mason Foster to join Bears. @JenLada reported this earlier. So yup, FINALLY a done deal.
-
This. Grasu, at least from mocks/grades, looks like he'll be going in the 3rd, and that's a bit too high for me. The rest of the center market is kinda meh to me. Give me the proven guy.
-
From a football perspective he's worth more than the vet min, but when you add in the off the field stuff I'd say yes, probably close to the vet min.
-
FWIW, he ranked 45th out of 47th among 3-4 DEs last year. Under good coaching he might improve (still just 27) but as a vet minimum player I kinda doubt they intend on starting him.

Unless they're JJ Watt or Justin Smith.....I'd take Leonard Williams if he fell to 7.
