He's typically drafted before Collins though, so I think you have to include him. Looking at the 7 mocks between CBS and NFL.com here is where those 3 stack up. Waynes- 7, 11, 11, 11, 13, 14, 14 Collins- 9, 11, 11, 20, 22, 20, 29 Schreff- 5, 9, 9, 13, 15, 15, 18

I don't care either, but it would be interesting considering all the talk about character being important to them. There aren't any DEs worthy of #7 anyway. DL would still be somewhat thin if they really do like Houston as an OLB. Rat, Ego, Sutton, McDonald, and Jenkins. I'd still like to see one more big piece added to that group as I'm not sure Sutton fits and Jenkins could continue to be bad.

Vet minimum deal which is nice, more than likely doesn't start but he'd be solid depth.

This one would be a little shocking to me. Doesn't seem to fit into the type of guys Fox and Pace have talked about. But like you said Mad, Fangio knows him. What would be interesting to see if he is brought in, does he start? He was a starter for Fangio the last few years.

Why leave out the #1 CB? I'm not sure Collins/Rolle is a good combo to be honest. I keep reading that Rolle is more of a SS these days and Collins is a SS himself.

Hmmm, I'm seeing those dates now. Odd considering they could start on the 6th. Maybe they just haven't released it out there that they'll be doing it at an earlier date. Or perhaps there's a difference between "offseason workout programs" and "voluntary mini camp".

April 6 Clubs that hired a new head coach after the end of the 2014 regular season may begin offseason workout programs April 30-May 2 NFL Draft (Chicago) So the staff will have a few weeks to evaluate the roster and how they fit before the draft.

I'd prefer Waynes, Peat, or if they do go WR, I like White over Cooper.

I debated on a few different OTs in the 3rd including Ty. I took Robinson because I think we look to run the ball more and having a guy like Robinson on the right side with Long would be something special IMO. I am now seeing where he ranks lower on a lot of big boards though. I'm certainly iffy on the pick, but with all those picks I'd like to see the best OT available in the 3rd or 4th. Domeone like Ali Marpet, Ty Sambrilo, Jeremiah Poutasi, Donovan Smith, Robinson, or perhaps the best option if he makes it there and the medicals look good Cedric Ogbuehi.

It'd be 1500(Bears) for 1599 in terms of the trade value chart. I think that would make the most sense from NOLAs perspective. I would do that trade from a Bears standpoint too. The more picks in the top 100 the better. 1.13- Danny Shelton DL 2.39- Kevin Johnson CB 3.71- Corey Robinson OT 3.75- Justin Hardy WR 3.78- Gerod Holliman FS 4.103- Henry Anderson DL 5.134- Clive Walford TE 5.146- Jake Ryan ILB 6.167- Joey Mbu DL I'm figuring we'll sign Foster and have a feeling we'll get Wisnewski as well so that's why I waited on ILB and passed on center. I'm not a believer in drafting project QBs either.

They've also quietly added CJ Spiller, Brandon Browner, Danell Ellerbe, and Max Unger to the team through this whole process. Their GM called this a "Retooling". They already have Brandon Cooks who is virtually the same player as Kenny Stills...And they love Josh Hills at TE supposedly. I HIGHLY doubt they'd do 7 for 13/31 like some have suggested, but I could see them doing 7 for 13/44.

Carriker is definitely worth a shot on the vet min...Esp. if the reports of him benching 225 40 times is true. I wouldn't sign him to be the starter of course, but having him as depth with an outside chance to start would nice. Crazy how much some of these RBs have slowed down since coming out of college.... Felix Jones: Veterans Combine 40 time: 4.79 s 2008 Combine 40 time: 4.47 s Mikel Leshoure: Veterans Combine: 4.75 s 2011 Combine: 4.59 s Da'Rel Scott Veterans Combine 40 time: 4.74 s 2011 Combine 40 time: 4.31 s

Ya, I really don't know what to think of Armstead. He seems like the biggest boom or bust prospect in the draft, and I'd prefer we go with a safer pick. Even looking at his combine numbers those don't scream "Physical Stud" at all really. He was in the bottom 1/3 of all DLinemen in the 40, 10 yard split, 3 cone drill, and the bench press. That includes big DTs and some of the LBs who participated in with the DLinemen....His broad jump and vertical are both in the top 1/3 so there is that. It's all about size and potential with him, he COULD be a monster after some grooming, but I don't think he's gonna be one out of the gate, and it's possible he busts.
-
I like it....I'd swap Yeldin for a OT prospect though.
-
That would be insane. Jordan Cameron would be perfect for this team. I think it'd take more than that for one of the best young 5-techs in the league. Hell I'd probably do #7 for Cameron straight up...A swap of first rounders OR just a 3rd rounder and I'm more than happy. Cameron could be our Justin Smith.

I've thrown this line out there a few times, but IMO San Fran was able to go with smaller guys at NT because they had Justin Smith on their line demanding double teams. I think we've been looking at bigger guys like Shelton (We've visited him twice pre draft) because we need that guy who demands double teams. Unless Leonard Williams drops to us there's just no another guy who will come in right away and demand that sort of attention. The Bears need someone to command double teams or the whole 3-4 won't be that effective.

Being able to keep Cobb and Bulaga was huge for GB. We may have won, but still didn't do enough.

I wanna see Carey take on a bigger role this year to see what we have in him before taking a RB high. I'd rather build the OL up which would make guys like Carey and the passing game look a whole helluva lot better. I'm not big on taking a RB in the 1R no matter what the situation is really. Here's a fun stat....There were 6 RBs who got drafted in the 6th round or later who ranked in the top 18 in rushing. That's twice as many as there was 1st rounders (3). The top 7 RBs in YPC were drafted as follows.... 1. Justin Forsett- Undrafted 2. Lamarr Miller- 4R 3. Jeremy Hill- 2R 4. Jamal Charles- 3R 5. Arian Foster- Undrafted 6. Jerrick McKinnon- 3R 7. CJ Anderson- Undrafted

I'm shocked how many people wanna take an offense player in the first round. Passing up on a first round defensive talent would be a huge mistake IMO.
-
I absolutely think he's special. I think the comparisons to Ngata are spot on.
-
It makes a huge difference because those guys are scheme specific players. So a team that would be drafting them not only would have to be 3-4 teams, but they'd also have to have a hole there too. I'm looking at those teams drafts right now, and I'm not sure what you're seeing... Since 2010 each of those teams have drafted just one OLB in the first round, so I wouldn't say they continually drafted OLBs. That's one each in the last 5 drafts. Why would Baltimore draft another NT when they have Ngata? Why would NE draft another one when they had Wilfork?
-
The problem there is who are you trading with, and whats to say they'll finish in the top 10 or the Bears can pull of a trade to get in the top 10?
-
Boo this man! lol I tend to agree with both Jasons and Dawhizz's drafts.
-
Go back and look to see if any of the teams drafting ahead of where those guys were drafted needed a NT/DT?
-
Fangio also had Justin Smith on that line demanding double teams. If you have a guy like JJ Watt or Justin Smith, the necessity for a bigger guy is out the window. You NEED that 1 guy who demands double teams, and I simply don't think a 34 year old Jay Ratliff, who is years removed from playing that position is still that guy. Hell, I just read on his wikipedia page that the reason the Cowboys moved him from NT to 3-4 DE is because " there were already a worries that his size and style of play could shorten his career and talks about moving him to defensive end" I'm a firm believer in that the coaching will indeed help a lot of these guys, but I simply couldn't pass on a guy who could be the next Haloti Ngata because we already have a guy who may or may not be able to still play the position.
