  1. Meh, after reading about him I'm not really a fan. He makes just a little bit more sense than Garza because he's the better run blocker. He's said to be pretty bad at pass blocking. I'd rather grab Wisniewski or grab one in the 3rd.
  2. Interesting, because here's another tweet he replied to.. “@br3putt33: @Ky1eLong right tackle>>>>$$$$”I don't necessarily think moving to tackle correlates directly with top dollar.. All about play I bolded his part for those that don't do twitter.
  3. Maybe. If teams wanna double AJ that just opens things up for everyone else and limits the pass rush.
  4. Kyle ‏@Ky1eLong 17m17 minutes ago I want to redefine the guard position So, those who think we may move him to OT might not get their wish if he gets what he wants. With the success he's had their I'm ok with that.
  5. Ya, I think trading Marshall was 100% just about creating a better atmosphere in the locker room.
  6. They need as many good players as they can get. I wouldn't call the potential drop off from 7 to 13 elite to decent either. There should still be a pretty good player at 13. Trading down to 13 they can still possibly get Shelton or Waynes, 2 guys they could really use.
  7. If Alshon is the guy he was in 2013, which I have no reason to believe he can't be, he can be every bit as good as Thomas. Alshon averaged 16 yards per reception in 2013, Thomas the last 3 years averaged 14.6, 15.5, and 15.3. Alshon his first year averaged, albeit in limited time, averaged 15.3.
  8. More than likely true, but stranger things have happened. They did add Spiller and Browner, and hey still have Colston and Cooks for Brees to throw to. Hard to believe if they really were shopping Brees that they didn't find a suitor, so I kinda doubt he was really on the block..
  9. So weird that you asked that because I was literally just looking at the trade value chart after reading the Saints have 5 picks in the top 78. However I'm reading that 7 is worth 1500, so I'm not sure they would do that (If the value chart should be believed) I think 13 and 44 would be more realistic, and I'd probably do that. I might even think about doing 13, 76, and 109 instead to add even more talent. Really like the idea of adding as much young talent as possible.
  10. Another OLB....at least at 7 anyway.
  11. I'd probably pass, but I could certainly see it happening. I personally wanna see a big ass competition between all the guys people have mentioned. It's gonna get those guys motivated. Personally, I'm pulling for Jones outside. Grab Mason Foster in FA, then let Bostic, a mid round ILB, and all the other guys compete at ILB.
  12. Yikes, it is way high...Moore got 3/12
  13. I'm in the same boat here. Denver wasn't really RB by committee last year. If you go through the game logs Montee Ball got the bulk of the carries, about 20 carries a game, and the backup got about 5 carries a game. Then when Ball got injured, Ronnie Hillman stepped in and the carries were distributed about the same. Then Hillman got hurt and CJ Anderson took over. It may look like a RB by committee when looking at the season stat sheet, but when you really look at it that's only because 2 RBs got hurt. Perhaps its my blind faith in these "Prospects" (see Wilson love), but I also think people are sleeping on Carey. Remember, ourlads, the scouting website that sends out books on prospects had Carey ranked as their top RB in the draft at one point. We could use some depth at RB though, but I'd go 5th round at the earliest. MAYBE the 4th if they plug in a few more guys on defense.
  14. Nothin to see here folks. Just a coach talking about a free agent acquisition IMO.....Unless Cutler absolutely blows for an extended period of time Jimmy won't see the field.
  15. Drafting Rodgers was a bit of an outlier because Farve was in and of retirement around that time. Last year they desperately needed a safety. they got HaHa. They lost James Jones so they went with Adams in the 2nd. But ya, BPA is indeed based on the preception of the GM/Scouts.
  16. Believe it or not that Ravens offense actually ranked 14th in the league that year. 4th in rushing.
  17. Awhile back Stan Van Gundy said in basketball he thinks it's optimal to have a good offensive coach coach a good defensive team and vise versa. The offensive head coach will optimize his defensive talent to play at a good enough level, and again vise versa. I think that same logic should stretch to the NFL as well. The Bears haven't had that dynamic in the past. We've had Lovie, who was a defensive guy with a lot invested into the defensive side of the ball. Then we had the opposite with Trestman. This year though, even with the trade of Marshall, we still have a lot invested in the offensive side of the ball(high draft picks and Jay/Forte/Bennett/Bushrod/Royal/Slaus) but have a defensive minded head coach. I think that dynamic is one set up for success.
  18. Ehhh, guys like Allen and especially Young are guys who do much better operating in space utilizing his length. Lined up inside the tackle I think he'd be dreadful. Allen is 6'6" compared to Melton who is 6'3", so the 15-20 pound difference is just not the same. I'm sure he's gotten stronger since way back when, but Jared Allen only did 13 reps at the combine. Even way back when guys weren't as big and strong as they are now, those 13 reps were bested by everyone but 2 TEs and some corners. Allen doesn't win with power, and I think you have to win with power when you play inside. There's a reason why Fox has called an OLB.
  19. The difference being Borland was the 49ers 4th pick, and the 49ers were fresh off a 12-4 season. Meaning they didn't really have holes to fill. They went with Jimmy Ward in the 1st round, a guy that many here had us drafting in the 2nd, or as this article I'm reading now says "this could be considered a bit of a reach in some circles". But ya, you're right, good teams take BPA...The Bears right now are still not a good team. They need to add a CB, at least 1 impact DLineman, and depending on what happens with Foster/Parker, an ILB and safety.
  20. Oh I have a sense of humor, I just don't think sexism is funny that's all. I'm related to a female sports analyst and she's constantly bombarded with ignorant stuff like that.
  21. Then why did they inquire about Knighton, Williams, and visit Shelton twice? Those guys can still play on a 2 man front. In fact it might make sense to have them out there occupying blockers with less guys out there.
  22. Kyle ‏@Ky1eLong 19m19 minutes ago HEY @KSTiLLS COME TO CHICAGO Depending on what it takes picks wise, I'd love me some Kenny Stills. One of the best deep threats in all of football. Turning just 23 next month so he's not much older than whatever mid round draft pick I expect them to draft. If nola is looking for something lower than a 3rd. sign me up. (Yes I know I've lobbied for Wilson to be the #3, but loves me some Kenny Stills)
  23. The hang up on Knighton is he's out of shape.....Dude has always been out of shape and yet still very productive. Michael Smith speculating that he might have to take a 1 year deal. I'd do that all day.

    LOLovie

I mean technically he did have a top 5 defense with those guys.
