  1. From a cap perspective, if they cut Houston with June 1 designation he would save the bears 50k. Next year he could be cut saving 4M. No doubt he stays this year, if he fails, he's a goner next.
  2. Houston should be ready (Though I haven't heard anything one way or the other), and there's already some fringe depth behind Young with Washington, Jones, SMC, and Bass. At this point, depending on what they do at CB, I think i'd like to see them invest in Shelton and a later round pick like Joey Mbu.
  3. Ha, thank you sir. A lot has happened since being annoyed with some of the guys here...I've learned that life is too short to hate, esp. people on the internet.
  4. Houston's still a good fit in a 3-4, Young possibly as well, and if they don't think he is then he can be cut to free up 1.8M. Allen is the only guy I don't really see as fitting, but they could throw in some plays for him as a pass rusher. Perhaps move McPhee down to DE with Allen coming off the edge. They like Ratliff, Houston is a fit, Ego showed some promise(though I'd like him as a backup who rotates up and down the line), Sutton is around Glen Dorseys size so he could hypothetically fit as depth....That's 4 guys already. Probably wanna go 6 deep on the DL, I'd like a starter and a "5th man" (with ego being the 4th and Sutton being the 6th man on the depth charts).
  5. Probably not, still probably a backup to Bowman/Borland, though he did beat out Borland last year.
  6. Rolle is old, but still has game. Played with Mundy in NY. Wouldn't hate to see him brought in and the Bears draft a later round FS/CB to groom for FS of the future.....Assuming that guy isn't already on the team (Vereen).
  7. Ya, no thanks on Kaep. If Cutler is here in 2 days, he's here all year, and I bet he's here. I wouldn't discount the fact that Jay and Gase are close and wanna work together. If he's here I don't think it's because they can't move him, I think it'd be because they wanna give him a shot to work with Gase.
  8. Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet 7m7 minutes ago #49ers LB Patrick Willis is planning to retire tomorrow, sources confirm (as @ProFootbaIITaIk & @Rand_Getlin said). Huge leadership loss Holy shit......Talk him out of it Vic!
  9. Oh ya, and here's a shocker...Aaron Lemming broke the story. Wonder who that guy knows, obviously someone, dude is legit.
  10. Or Danny Shelton...Or Cooper/White....Or maybe trade down a bit for Collins....Or maybe, with the CB FA market so inflated, Trae Waynes. Or I wouldn't be shocked if McPhee plays DE, he did line up there for the Ravens. I'm excited to see how they utilize him. All I know is he's a football player who gets after the QB.
  11. I love it, dude is nasty. Here's the PFF profile on him. https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2015/...pernell-mcphee/ I'll highlight the best parts...
  12. Booo Not a big Searcy fan, so I hope we snag Moore.

    Shaun Hill?

Uhhh..... The Lead writer for RealGM replied saying he can verify it as well. Aaron Lemming saying he'd be competition for the backup roll. Having 2 older, serviceable #2s only makes sense if you think you have a chance to win.
  14. In what fashion? Merely in the sense of we need a WR, or are we supposedly talking to him?
  15. The guy making the claim is followed by Michael C. Wright (And Lemming) so maybe, but ya still taking it with a grain of salt.
  16. Aaron Leming ‏@AaronLemingNFL 1m1 minute ago #Bears in on both "@caplannfl: #Raiders source said team still trying to sign C Rodney Hudson. S. Wisniewski has several suitors lined up.” Hope he's right. 2 of the best young centers in the league. Would gladly take either.
  17. And I threw Isaac Sopoaga's name out there as a rebuttal. The best D they had in Fangios 4 years was with 6'2" 330 pound Sopoaga back there......Obviously a guy like Shelton/Knighton isn't a must, but I'm sure they aren't out of the question either. No one is saying it's a done deal, in fact most agree that he probably lands in Oakland BTW, Lemming tweeted that he'd rather have Ratliff/Ego at NT and sign Odrick, so I don't think this is a situation where he's just throwing out a player he wants.
  18. This guy broke the Fox, Fangio, and Marshall deals before anyone else. I'd say he has some insider knowledge. You can dispute if you'd like, but I think he's legit.
  19. Aaron Leming ‏@AaronLemingNFL 43m43 minutes ago I can confirm the interest in DT Terrance Knighton is real but was also told it will come down to price. Market could get pricey. #Bears
  20. Same here. Ya, this also shows they would be interested in Shelton because of his size. I know some here disputed that fact. Pot Roast has been in the slow cooker since 11.....Gonna have to save some back to celebrate with if we get him. Or throw it in the trash if we don't lol. Raiders have already missed out on Suh, Cobb, and now Julius Thomas(Jags), all of whom they were connected to, so they could end up severely overpaying Knighton.
  21. Lol You've been a step ahead of me all day. I think Del Rio and Oakland have the leg up here. Might be worth noting he was fined for his weight last year. Not sure if that was put forth by Fox or Elway. Also...I currently have pot roast in my slow cooker, so maybe it's a sign.
  22. Josina Anderson ‏@JosinaAnderson 8m8 minutes ago Source: Teams showing 'serious interest' in impending unrestricted free agent DT Terrance 'Pot Roast' Knighton include OAK, WAS, IND & CHI. Still think he follows Del Rio to Oakland, but glad we're showing interest.
  23. I'd say 2013 was was a fairly complete effort, and I thought he was pretty good. If you take out the Washington game where he got hurt, and the Detroit game where he was CLEARLY playing hurt, he was on pace for some pretty good numbers. 65% completion% 4165 yards 32 TDs 17 INTs And that's what he was on pace for without facing the terrible teams McCown got to light up. I don't think it's crazy to say that he could have been around 66%/4400/35/19
