I believe in Jay too, and by supporting him I wonder if he means the OL, which was really bad. I totally understand getting rid of that contract though. He CAN be good behind a good OL but the contract is pretty steep. Got 3 days to find out what the staff thinks. If he's a Bear on March 12th, he's more than likely a Bear week 1.

Kyle long agrees.. Kyle @Ky1eLong 9m9 minutes ago “@Greek_QB: @Ky1eLong I guess it's a good thing he's out of NFC North, huh?” Always fun to compete against the best. But yes. Haha

Good question. Maybe they could say we'd like to offer you a deal AROUND 6 years 114 mill, and it wouldn't be considered "Specifics".

Aaron Leming @AaronLemingNFL 1h1 hour ago Two names that the #Bears seem very intrigued with are linebackers Brooks Reed & Mason Foster. Also seem to be in on all top safeties. Mason Foster is interesting. Here's a good article on him.... http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/tampa-b...go-bears-030415 Reed is meh.

Dude formally agreed to a 6 year 114M dollar contract with the Dolphins. Good god, shocked he got more than Watt. Glad to see him out of the division.

Lol its funny you say this because I've been one of the few guys who said this won't be a rebuild. I've been reading too much into tweets from this Aaron Lemming fellow who called this a rebuild. The thing with the #3 WRs is I don't think they were a big part of Trestmans offense. Even going back to Trestmans offenses in San Fran and Oakland, it was always just his #1, #2, RB, and TE who did 95% of the work in the passing game. I think when your rarely called upon that gets you in a funk. In Gases offense they spread the ball out a bit more, and im excited to see if Wilson can develop into the player people are forgetting he could be.

I'll revive this thread..... Jason Cole @JasonPhilCole 10h10 hours ago Word is that Devin McCourty is looking for $9M per year, just like Jairus Byrd got from #Saints last year. Aaron Leming @AaronLemingNFL 10h10 hours ago If @JasonPhilCole report of McCourty's asking price at $9M per year is true, then most teams including the #Bears should make the push. Absolutely agree.

Ya, speed is an absolute must. I think we draft that speed guy in the second, then sign a 3rd tier guy to compete with Wilson for the 3 spot. Maybe an older guy like Harry Douglas or Nate Washington
-
I think they should, whether it be in the draft or in free agency. In a perfect world they grab Jeremy Parnell in FA then grab a center in the 3rd or 4th. Parnell would come rather cheap since he was a backup, but he looked real good when he filled in for an injured Doug Free.
-
If this truly is a rebuilding year, gotta give Wilson another chance IMO. There's still a lot of upside there, again in my opinion.
-
I think Fowler is the one that busts, and the rest are studs.
-
If Forte gets the boot, I think Roy Helu is a real underrated back and would love to have him on the Bears splitting carries with Carey and or a rookie.
-
I could live with that, but I really want McCourty at this point.
-
4/34...Yeesh If that's the market, I might want Peanut back. Corners in the draft are pretty weak sans Waynes. Do like Quinton Rollins a bit in the 2nd but he's a bit of a project.
-
Will be interesting to see how much. I think he and Chris Culliver (Who I want) probably get around the same contract.

Vic Tafur @VicTafur 4h4 hours ago It sounds like the first pack of seven in the Suh sweepstakes are: #Raiders, #Dolphins, #Bears, #Jaguars, #Giants, #Chargers and #Lions. Guy works for some newspaper.....Was retweeted be Aaron Lemming. Doubt it happens, but wouldn't hate it at all. EDIT....Lemming says he doubts it as well, just kicking the tires.
-
I mean hypothetically nothing I guess....I don't wanna see it happen though.
-
Both, they'd be "leaderS". I don't necessarily think teams should have just that one guy who you would consider a "leader". In an ideal world I think you have a "leader" at every level.
-
Merriweather was just a tool. There's a reason he only got a 1 year deal despite being a 2x pro bowler. McCourty on the other hand is a leader on defense, something this team severely lacks.
-
Something they also said is they'd like to get to the point in free agency that they could go BPA in the draft. I think they lay a foundation in free agency then build from that in the draft.
-
I like Harold, but i think there's a pretty sizeable gap between he and Gregory, Beasley, Ray, and Fowler. I wouldn't hate to see Cooper then Harold at all, but think switching the order makes a tad bit more sense. I think we look to run the ball more so investing so heavily in the passing game would surprise me a bit. We already have a pro bowl TE and a pro bowl WR.
-
I can dig it....Thought you were on the "We're not signing any high priced free agent" train though. Cobb is just that. I like what you did, but I'd switch mine up a bit. Give Cobbs money to McCourty. I know I was the guy who brought up Skuta, but I couldn't pass on one of theses OLBs in the draft. So pass on Skuta, draft an OLB in the 1st and WR in the 2R.
-
Moore had 3 pro bowlers in the secondary. Corners Aquib Talib and Chris Harris Jr., and also safety TJ Ward.
-
Uhhh, that's not what I said. Again, in the situation we're talking about right now where they'd have 55M dollars, I'd be disappointed IF THEY FINISHED LAST. I already said I don't expect them to be great. With the right moves, and with the addition of one of the best coaching staffs in the league, I'd be surprised if we weren't at least 6-10, with 7-9 or 8-8 more likely.
-
If they plan on spending say 30M on new free agents (using the other money to extend AJ and on the draft), they damn well better be better than last place, that's all I'm saying.
