  1. Meh not really. He had a meeting with the Jets after the Bears. I'd be cool with a trade I guess though. At the very least they could be really aggressive in rebuilding the D. I highly doubt they win anything with Josh as the QB but I auppose they could hit on a QB this year or next.
  2. In that case, I don't see finding 4-5 starters with 23M and 2 top 40 picks as much of a problem. Takes me back to the 2013 offseason when the OL pretty much needed a complete overhaul and people didn't think it was possible under the cap we had. They got it done AND added a high priced TE. And that 23M has already taken out the money needed for the draft so it's all going to FAs.
  3. Ugh all 4-5 defensive needs don't need to be taken care of in the draft. 23 million is a big chunk of change, esp when you consider the offense doesn't need much, and even if some of the guys on defense aren't starters, they still provide you with depth. They're in good shape financially. They can't be extremely agressive and add 2 or 3 stars or anything like that, but they can no doubt add 3 or 4 starters in FA and then another 2 or 3 in tye draft. The draft market for QBs absolutely blows. Maybe I consider Hundley if he drops to the 2nd but past that your not finding your QB of the future in this draft.
  4. I'd prefer him at the 5 tech with some more beef in the middle. He still showed last year that he can get after the QB and playing him inside would kinda lessen that part of his game. To me the only question now is do they view Ego as a starter? If so where at? Do they think he can play NT? Do they still view Rat at the Nose making Ego a 5?
  5. We all might have hoped for it, but I'm not so sure thats the response B was hoping for. I know he asked Harbaugh if he would allow him to stay on the show if he played for him, so it seems clear that he wants to continue doing it.
  6. Well he met with the Bills the other day, and the report I read was that he was meeting with multiple teams. Really hope it's not as a starter. I'm fine with him as a backup.
  7. No thanks. Perhaps if BM is gone, but if not I don't really see the fit. Gimme a speed WR in the draft to go with BM, AJ, and Wilson. If one of those former chiefs come at the price of a #5 then I'd be fine with.
  8. Was looking through San Frans defensive free agents and came across a somewhat intriguing name. Dan Skuta, the OLB who filled in for Aldon Smith while he was out. He racked up 5 sacks in just 398 snaps. Here's an article entitled "Dan Skuta Aims for 10-sack Seasons, Pro Bowls" http://www.49ers.com/news/article-2/Dan-Sk...f0-7b0e2eb6ff3c As you can see he's pretty high on himself, and gives a lot of praise to Fangio for putting him in the right position. He was a nobody up until Fangio put him at OLB. Now the question is, is Fangio as big on him as he is on himself? Hard to get a tell on him with pretty much no tape out there and little to no previous production, but Fangio has seen what he can do so I'd trust his judgement were he to be brought in.
  9. Ya see, that's kinda the thing. We all love Shane Ray, you think Dupree could be the best of the lot, and I've see Fowler and Beasley both drafted ahead of Ray in some mocks. All 4 of those guys could be big time players and it's hard to distinguish who the top dog is. Obviously our scouts will have their opinion on the matter, but I'm not so sure there's a wrong pick. If we're sitting there at 7 and there are 3 or all 4 still there I wouldn't hate to see the Bears drop down a few slots, still grab one of them while also picking up an added 2nd rounder. All that said I still have my man crush on Danny Shelton and would take him assuming we don't add Knighton. The 2R is still rich with OLBs like Kikaha, Orchard, Mauldin, Golden, and perhaps Eli Harold drops that far.
  10. And even then when talking about 3-4 LB unless Ray is there I'm still comfortable trading down because I believe its a crapshoot between Fowler, Beasley, Dupree, and even Eli Harold.
  11. A lot still depends on the situation. What was done in FA, and who is on the board though of course. Say they do add Knighton in FA and Shane Ray is off the board. In that situation, where we're looking at guys like Fowler, Beasley, Dupree etc, I'd rather trade down the 5 spots, still take one of those guys and add a 2nd rounder. In that situation would rather have Fowler or Dupree/Beasley and a 2nd rounder.
  12. Eh, just because something didn't work before doesn't mean you shouldn't ever do it again. Plus ttoday's athletes are getting better and better and drafts are getting deeper and deeper. Trading down a few spots would still get us a very good player along with the potential for another good player we wouldn't have been able to get before.
  13. Probably wishful thinking. The value for the 7th pick on the draft value chart is 1,500. The 12th pick is 1,200, and the 19th is 825. So in terms of the draft value chart we're talkin 1,500 vs 2,025. I'd be happy with 12 (1,200) and 43 (470) plus maybe an added late round pick just to sweeten the pot, lets say a 6th.
  14. I have zero problem moving back to say 12 with the Browns. Along with those name you mention there still could be names like Shelton, Collins, Beasley, Eli Harold (who is underrated), Goldman(if they think Ego/Rat can handle NT), and if push comes to shove you could always take an OT. I have a feeling Knighton is more of a Jack Del Rio guy and will go to to Oakland so I still have my eye on Shelton. Shelton IMO is certainly capable of playing in any kind of hybrid defense. Hell, the guy were all talking about Terrence Knighton has played in a 4-3 most of the time, Vince Wilfork has also been a 4-3 player......Ray I tend to agree with, he looks like a strict 3-4 OLB who's speed would get neutralized ala SMC as a 4-3 DE.
  15. Meh, Wilson missed a lot of time and Trestmans offenses have typically not gotten the #3s involved. Wilson had 140 yards in 7 games. Earl Bennett had 243 yards the year before in 15 games. Wilson still has plenty of upside IMO, and with Gase, who had 3 Pro Bowl caliber WRs in Denver, he could see an enhanced role here next year. I'd give him a year to prove himself. Grabbing a guy like Eddie Royal and possibly a mid round draft pick like Tyler Lockett could make the WR group look good at the fraction of the cost. (AJ-Royal-Wilson-Lockett-Bellamy)
  16. Just saw on one of PFFs signature stats that Mundy had the 7th least missed tackles among safeties. Not bad. Mundy>Landry.
  17. I just want Tyler Lockett. He'll be cheaper and possibly just as good.
  18. We really don't know what goes on behind the scenes so I can't really touch on the extent of his distractions. I know he asked Harbaugh if he played for him would he be cool with him on HBO, so who knows maybe there is a problem there for whatever reason. Or who knows, maybe they just wanna cleap some cap because they have big plans for FA. .... Or it could all be be... I wouldn't hate to see it happen quite honestly. Free up money to spend on the D then add a WR in the draft.
  19. Moore was with Fox in Carolina. Orakpo is interesting. He's been injury prone, so I think he might wanna take a one year prove it deal which could prove to be a good thing for the Bears. He'd be hungry, and they wouldnt have to commit too much for too long and risk a bad contract.
  20. Shaq would be an ILB here, and probably a damn good one at that, but when stacked up against Shelton and Ray, I gotta go with one of those2. Now if we go out and add Knighton and one of tthe FA OLBs then Shaq probably moves toward the top of my list(assuming we also didn't add an ILB in FA).....Though when talking about ILBs I kinda like Eric Kendricks a tad bit more.
  21. Again I truly believe he put up those numbers against really bad defenses, so I take those numbers with a grain of salt. We won't agree on that, and this isn't an argument worth having again so carry on.
  22. His football acumen led to him having the worst INT% of any QB with 10 or more starts.
  23. Possibly, but but it'd be like raising your grade from an F to a D, you still need to do better. The Bears can do much better. And I say possibly because I'm not convinced thathp he's any better than Mundy and its still possible that Vereen turns out better.
  24. I've been all about Shelton and Kikaha for the longest....yes plz.
  25. Meh, he might be a slight upgrade over Mundy. Neither are guys you want in coverage.
