  1. His first game? Bears/Titans preseason game!
  2. I kind of agree, but eventually the team has to take a step forward. Would I love to go 2-14 next year then 14- 2 the following year? Sure, but how often does that happen. Typically a team will have a year or 2 where they are in that 6-10 through 9-7 range(football outsiders has the bears at 7-9) before they get to where they need to be. 7-9, like football outsiders predicts, means a lot of guys improved and that's what I want to see out of this team next year.
  3. C'mon now, you had to of heard/read that somewhere. Lol. Yes, 12th. A little surprising, but its possible.....There is a TON of boom or bust potential on this team.

    Jaye Howard

Yep, just saw it now too. Really solid pickup! Front 7 could be really good if they actually stay healthy.
  5. Mel Kipers wayyyyyyy to early mock draft came out today and guess where he has the bears picking????? Don't google it! I want real guesses.
  6. I think its all about his ability in the passing game. If its 3rd and say 3+, would you rather have Howard, who isn't all that great catching the ball out there, or Cohen who looks like he can be a Sproles type back.

    Jaye Howard

He's a really solid player from all I've read. Last year before he suffered a hip injury, PFF gave him the 2nd highest grade against the run for a 3-4 DE. Had 5.5 sacks the year before. He turns 29 this year so maybe he isn't a LONG term piece, but he could be a piece for a year or 2. I'm not convinced that this is some horrible team that isn't going to try and win this year so I think he's worth a shot.

    Jaye Howard

He's not old so I kinda doubt that. If I'm him I'm taking a short term deal with a team he can start on. Build his value back up then look for a big deal

    Jaye Howard

Patrick Finleyā€¸Verified account @patrickfinley 19m19 minutes ago DL Jaye Howard got offer from #Bears but left Halas Hall without deal, per source. Door's not closed, though. He passed team's physical FWIW Hopefully he just wants to "Shop around" a little bit more. Would love to add a healthy Jaye Howard to the defensive line. He could be this years Josh Sitton, a really good vet the Bears pick up after the draft.

    WOW

While we are throwing things we realize out there.....One thing I've never seen brought up... While a lot of people poo poo on the fact we gave up a few mid rounders, saying they could have used those pics for defensive players, everybody seems to be completely dismissing last years mid rounders. With a year under their belts, I don't see why Bullard, Hall, and Bush have been seemingly tossed by the wayside by the same fans upset about giving up picks where those guys were slotted.
  11. Also, here's a fun article from when they drafted Jimmy Graham...... www.canalstreetchronicles.com/2010/4/23/1440555/2010-nfl-draft-new-orleans-saints 1 year of college football. Not sure why the link isn't clickable
  12. While the subject of small schools is out there I wanted to take a look back at some old Saints drafts, since that is where Pace came from..... Here are some schools I stumbled upon. Arkansas Pine Bluff Regina Towson Bloomsburg Hofstra Ya know who went to those schools? Terron Armstead- Pro Bowl LT Akiem Hicks- Really good football player as we know Jermon Bushrod- 2x Pro Bowl LT Jahari Evans- 6x pro bowl/4x all pro Marques Colston- 6 1000+ yard seasons. Pace wasnt the GM, but he was around for all these picks.
  13. I believe you have to make that decision now. I know I just heard on the radio today that the Vikings aren't picking up the 5th year option on Bridgewater. I think Fuller at the very least makes it through training camp, and honestly, it wouldn't shock me if he starts.
  14. Yeah there is still a lot of moderately interesting corners on the roster. Prince, Cooper, Fuller, LeBlanc, Callahan, Banks, Webb, Hall, and don't forget about Rashaad Reynolds. That's quite a few guys. I don't think there's a #1 in the bunch, but there's are some guys there.
  15. It's impossible to tell whether he's dumb or a genius right now. I will say that I admire his conviction. Trubisky was obviously his guy and he didn't want to lose out on him. If you think Mitch is so far ahead of everyone else, then ya gotta do what ya gotta do. You could make the argument that he could have drafted Adams in the first and then drafted a QB later but if you don't project any of those QBs as starters then why waste the pick? Same for Shaheen, if you buy into him being the next Gronk and don't wanna lose him to another team, take him. Trust your scouting. It's gonna be an interesting couple of years.
  16. I like it. I read that some teams had him as their #2 TE in a stacked TE class. Looks like he was a basketball player on high school and that is what lead to him not getting a big time football scholarship.
  17. Desmond King and Roderick Johnson would be lovely. Deatrich Wise is a guy guy who intrigues me a lot as well. I don't think we need a WR but if I'm wrong, I'd grab Trubiskys teammate...No not Ryan Switzer, but Mack Collins. 6'4" with good speed.
  18. Welcome aboard Mitch! Here's hoping you live up to the Drew Brees and Russell Wilson comps Pat Mannely just threw out there. I've also heard Rivers and Stafford as comps as well. I'll take any of those guys as my franchise QB.
  19. He measured at 5'10......Earl Thomas, Devon McCourtty, and Honey Badger are all 5'10" or shorter just to name a few.
  20. I'd go Malik McDowell if he's there and there's no trade back. If we trade back, Antonio Garcia is my favorite OT in this draft. Wouldn't mind some Budda Baker action either.

    WTF

Wow. I have zero problem with Trubisky, but why on earth are you trading up to get him???? 49ers just played Pace. If he doesn't pan out, this could be one of the worst picks in Bears history.
  22. I'm hoping the Panthers are in love with Fournette and wanna trade ahead of the Jags at 4 so they trade the 8th pick to the Bears. I think there are 5 or 6 guys (not including Garrett)that make sense for the bears so I think 8 is a perfect spot when you consider Garrett, Fournette and probably a few other guys the bears don't need will go before 8. If there's no move down, I'd go Adams. Not only does the team need a safety, but it also needs some leadership and a voice on the defense.
  23. I've heard and read disappointing things about Cooper, and think he should be no more than depth. Prince isn't a #1 and isn't a long term option either. Fuller is Fuller, if they do go Lattimore, I would honestly like to see Fuller at safety. LeBlanc is pretty meh to me. He's not my first choice, but I would have zero problem drafting Lattimore.
  24. There's also a conflicting rumor out there that the Browns want to trade DOWN from 12 and will take Trubisky at 1. That was all from Greg Gabriel. It's gonna be an interesting day.
  25. What website are you seeing this on? I'd advise you to stay away from that site. Zero problem going safety at 3, and I think Adams should be that guy.
