Ya I really think Carey needs to get a shot. Ourlads had him as the 35th overall prospect at one point and made him sound like he's exactly the type of back everyone wants. http://www.ourlads.com/top-32-college-seni...ft/2014/2356481

The RB class is deep this draft, I wouldn't drop all that money on Murray. Plus I'm not so sure we should give up on Carey either. Not sure about dropping all that money on Sun either. This looks like a pot of fun, def gonna make one when I get around a computer.

Here's hoping Martz is right in that Gase is one of the brightest offensive minds in football and he wasn't just riding Peyton's coat tails.
-
Brought him up weeks ago, I like him a lot. Not gonna be a plug and play guy but a year or 2 behind Jay he could end up being a solid QB.
-
Off the field, on the field hes a completely different animal. Get him around the right locker room and there's about as good a chance he grows up as there is Mariottas game translates to the NFL.

Dan Durkin / Brad Biggs Indicate Ratfliff Might be Gone

Worth noting that Glen Dorsey, all 6'1" 297 of him, was San Frans nose tackle in 2013. I'd try trading Allen for a late round pick, and if no one bites just let him go and take the hit. -
Ya, i look at Weis in the same vein as Schwartz. As a head coach? Hell no. As a coordinator? Yes Plz.
-
No chance he drops to us at 7 so you're safe. Kid is a baller who should go number 1 overall.
-
Ya I'm a little iffy on Mariotta as well. That Oregon system is no joke. WRs were always open and he rarely had to go through progressions. I'd take him at 7 but wouldn't trade up for him.
-
Id be game for Phillips, but I like Arik Armstead, Malcolm Brown, and Carl Davis a bit more in the 2nd round.
-
I'd love to have him smack dab in the middle of the D line, esp. if they do indeed plan on moving on from Ratliff for whatever reason. One thing to point out, was looking back at some Ego scouting reports, and there was a few that mentioned him as a 3-4 DE, not a NT (though I think he's capable of playing there.). Houston-Shelton-Ego could be a pretty nasty front 3. At this point I think it all depends on what they think of the OLB candidates we already have on the team. If the staff believes we need an upgrade then I can almost gaurentee Ray/Beasley/Gregory/Fowler would be the pick.
-
I for one think with a good OL he'll do fine there. I truly believe the downfall here was once the OL lost stability he dulled down the offense a lot and that shit just didn't work. With Harbaugh controlling the lockeroom he won't have to worry about that aspect either.

Dan Durkin / Brad Biggs Indicate Ratfliff Might be Gone

Does anyone even know what the incident was? I don't remember anything. I know he had a messy breakup with Dallas, so I guess I wouldn't be surprised by whatever it was. -
Houston should be ready to go unless there'sa set back but I forgot about the Young injury. Perhaps that wrench leads them to taking an OLB early.
-
You sir are thinking of Vernon Gholston. Rahim Moore and Goldson seems like a damn good duo.
-
Said to be a liability in coverage so hes not exactly what I'm looking for but as a replacement to Mundy paired with someone good in coverage I'd be happy.

Ya, I tried looking into more and saw nothing. He would save the Bears 2 mill so I guess its whatever. -
Unless we get pre San Fran Fangio who's D's were consistently Mel Tucker-esque.
-
Agree to disagree on the LB group. I happen to think Bostic, as your coverage ILB, and Jones as your run stuffing ILB is a solid duo. Young almost has to have a spot at OLB. Then the other side is the only position I really view as questionable in the SMC, Washington, Bass competition. When I look at these LBs and DEs I have long seen a 3-4. Again Im not saying thats what I want to happen, just saying it wouldnt be the worst thing in the world.
-
I'm not saying ignore the D, I'm just saying that I for one think that that LB group would look solid in a 3-4, so use your FA money and a few draft picks on a corner, safety or 2, and a DE. If the LB group doeant pan out then you know where to target early in year 2. I also am not against a complete rehaul of the LB group either.
-
I think Young is more of a fit at OLB vs DE. Id have zero problem if they went with Young-Jones-Bostic-SMC/Washington/Bass in year one just to see how they hold up in this transition year. As for the front 3, Houston is certainly a fit, and yes Ego/Rat are stout enough to hold up at nose. Last year Vic's NT was 318 pounds, and his backup was 303. I think we should be looking at adding another DE to pair with Houston.
-
Hopefully we get San Fran Fangio and not pre San Fran Fangio. Should be a fun offseason moving to a 3-4.
-
It probably felt different because you want Jay gone. I don't expect a decision to be made till we get an OC much like a decision hasnt been made about the defense witg no DC in tow.
-
And there is talks that he'll get the biggest contract in the NFL.
-
I'm not sure why he would commit to Jay without having an offensive coordinator anyway so I think as usual were making something outta nothing. Just like his answer to the 3-4 vs 4-3.
