I can care less about his personality to be honest, why I wanna trade BM is because 1. He's kinda getting up there in age, and he might still have some decent trade value. 2. I'm not so sure Wilson will be that deep threat this team needs, so if you can get a pick for BM and turn that into a legit deep threat, this team could actually end up being better.

He has TOTAL CONTROL OF FOOTBALL DECISIONS.
-
You're looking way too much into the whole lean on Ted quote...It has been said countless times that Pace has complete control of football decisions. If you really think Pace is gonna make football decisions based on what Ted has to say, then it should be Pace that you're worried about.
-
This whole Ted Phillips saga on here is somewhat comical to me. What needs to be said for you guys to believe that Pace has all control over football decisions?
-
And where would he get that info?
-
I like Marrone simply because of how well the Bills did last year with not a ton of talent. The fact that the bills beat the Packers and the Lions is also a plus. Why do we like other candidates? Success. He's not at the top of my list though, but nevertheless I would be content with his hiring.
-
I don't know how to quote things on my tablet, but Bernstein tweeted that Pace was given full control of football operations. So it would appear that Ted is indeed taking a step back into only the financial part of things. Plus the whole Ballard didn't wanna be here because he wouldn't get total control is kinda out the window too.
-
Good call on the Marrone connection. I said in the Marrone thread that I'd be more than happy with him as the head coach.
-
Pace will be at the interview...wouldn't be shocked if Bowles is announced within a week, and if he's not, then it's probably gonna be Quinn.
-
Just so its clear, he wasn't actually in the wonder years. From what I gathered he started in the org just 2 years after playing college ball (DE) at eastern Illinois, and worked his way up for 14 years. So yes, he has came up through the ranks. Edit, just saw your last post, carry on.
-
Impossible to speculate, but I'm guessing reports of Ballard were just people grasping straws trying to make a connection. I never saw anything of signifigince saying Ballard was a lock at all.
-
Ironically he turned down the jets as well....like I've said all along I really don't know how to judge any of f these guys, I only like Ballard because of the buzz. I'm fine with whoever they bring in just because I really don't have a clue.
-
I'm not sure where you and Mort are going with this...the general consensus among falcons fans is they hate the move and think Dimitrioff should be canned. What exactly do you and Mort mean by The Ravens way.
-
I know you said let the kids play, but give me a safety and mlb in FA and I'd be happy with that draf regardless.
-
Do we even know the Bears have him pegged right now at all? From what I just read Ballards first interview is today, and he's the third guy to interview.
-
Well in extremely limited caries he averaged 4.4 ypc...Forte for his career is averaging 4.2. He's not a burner or anything, but neither is Forte. I see a very "technical" runner. I just think you're giving up on someone you've never even given a real chance....I know Forte is a workhorse, but I really hope Carey get a good share of the carries.
-
I absolutely think Carey can be an every down back. Dude led the FBS in rushing in 2012, and if not for some disciplinary problems he very well could have done it again in 2013. Said off the field issues is what dropped him in the draft, if that's behind him, he can be a damn good RB.
-
Not only the fact that we have Forte, but I for one liked what I saw from Carey and wanna see him get an expanded role before we start to think about drafting a guy to play ahead of him.
-
A Running back in the second round?! And I thought I was crazy! Also not waiting that long to get another corner either
-
I'm still not seeing a leak anywhere other than what hub said, and hub didn't say anything about him getting cut. Regardless, some leverage would remain, as if he's released (not gonna happen) then the whole league can get their hands on him, while in a trade you don't run the risk of losing out to him.
-
I haven't seen anything about it, but I of course would be OK with it. But the whole eatting 5.5 mill? Ya, no. Either trade him and get some picks (I suggested a 2nd and a 5th) or keep em.
-
Wade Phillips would make a lot of sense if they decide they wanna go the 3-4 route. I believe Reggie Herring is still employed by the bears right? There's a connection right there to get him in.
-
The coddling comment was a joke because for whatever reason, adding to the offense and upgrading = coddling jay cutler. No matter who the qb is, if we can get a FS and a MLB in FA, I'd want a LT.
-
I'm most intrigued by Bowles because he ran a 3-4 and those things look like fun
-
Ya the fact that he's being so highly touted by everyone should ease everyone's mind. It isn't the Bears that are throwing fluff out there either. After reading all the good press on him I'd actually be a little disappointed if he wasn't in the conversation. Decosta has turned everyone down and Polian has said he's staying with ESPN, so Ballard seems like the next best thing and that is something everyone should want.
