Eh, I highly doubt that's the reasoning. This.... http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300000040...-me-out-4-weeks ....Probably has a lot more to do with it.
-
The whole domestic abuse thing crossed my mind as well. I'm hoping it's more injury than a "Relapse" so to speak. Or perhaps it was just the double teams he and Jeffery saw last week that resulted in him having a down day.
-
If they make it FA, I'd go balls out on David Harris and Devin McCourty. With Ego and Sutton looking fairly decent, and Ratliff still being under contract Suh may be a bit of a pipe dream.
-
Good call. Should be a fun offseason. Looking ahead, if the cap does indeed increase to 160, the Bears cap # right now is 105.....That's with everyone but Garza/DLP under contract on offense (Starters). DLP probably comes back rather cheap so they could have about 50M to spend on D/extending players. Say what you will about the Cutler contract, but if it happened next year, there would be no "It prevented us from signing players on defense" comments. I think the contract came with next year in mind.
-
I know it'd change things for me. Don't care how much of a dick you are if you're helping my favorite team win. He's like AJ Pierzynski, a guy you hate till he plays on your team.
-
Well lets just say I was unaware of the 11 fumbles the last 2 years. I just knew he was one of the most explosive returners in the game.
-
Yes plz. Cap is supposed to go up another 27M next year and Briggs is gonna be gone, so money should be there.
-
Well first of all you don't know that you're "not gonna perform" and secondly you're damn right I'd take whatever contract given to me. You're kidding yourself if you say you wouldn't.
-
Lol really dude? Shame on him for taking a contract given to him.
-
Yup, same with fanduel. Scored 132 last week and got nada. Scored 130 this week and got $30. You've mentioned 50/50s twice now and I noticed fanduel has em as well...What is it?
-
He was released by the Giants from injured reserve but it would appear he may be healthy considering he was out doing workouts. If he is indeed healthy he could be a huge addition to help with return duties.
-
It's not his fault because he isn't the one who gave himself the contract obviously. If ya wanna have beef with someone, have beef with Emery, and probably Trestman as well who probably had a lot of say in what he wanted to do with the QB situation.
-
I've already said I'm growing sour of Jay, but not because of the fact that when they show him once or twice on the sideline he's not looking at pictures. I mean unless you're there watching him we just don't know if he never looks at the pictures.
-
Are you at the games watching him the whole time?
-
And that ties in with my post. Are Marshall and Jeffery hurt thus making the play calling limited, or are they healthy and the play calling just been brutal?
-
It's a little odd because typically west coast offenses start slow and finish "fast". I've got a feeling Jeffery/Marshall are still a little banged up right now. That's the only reason I can think of as to why the Bears haven't been taking any real shots down the field the last few games. Typically in the WCO you see the little dump passes early on to set up the deep pass. But at least yesterday and I velieve last week as well the dump passes haven't lead to anything other than more dump passes. I can't imagine a healthy Marshall/Jeffery can't get open down the field and Jay is just checking it down.
-
I'm with you on this. You always hear about how players have to have a "short memory" because if you dwell on mistakes you're gonna get eaten alive. I'm sure everyone is disappointed in that locker room but you simply have to move on....It's like Belicheck in his post game interviews last week when reporters kept trying to poke at the flaws, his response to every question was "We're moving on to Cincinnati". He didn't throw a fit and say "we sucked" or "Brady sucks" or anything like that.
-
Just looked it up, that's somewhat surprising....But then again our deep threats have been banged up most of this year.
-
I've been doing fanduel the last 3 weeks...Hasn't been pretty. Played Woodhead the first week, he got hurt. Played Crabtree last week, he got hurt (Only for a quarter and a half). This week Rashad Jennings got hurt after 10 carries (where he was averaging 5 ypc). It's addicting though.
-
Sans the costly INTs he's still been pretty solid... Yards- 7th Competition %- 5th TDs- 2nd Passer rating- 11 So I can't say he's been total trash. The INTs have indeed been costly though. But he's currently leading the league in INTs as well....Interestingly enough, he's tied with the likes of Drew Brees, Andrew Luck, and Matt Ryan, all guys who are perceived as good QBs.
-
I'm not gonna panic until after the bye/next Pack game. If they can get to 4-4 at the break then pull off a "Miracle" and beat the Pack the season would still be very much alive IMO. This of course requires a lot going right.
-
He has his moments but they're just that, moments. We have seen what his offense can do against bad defenses. I still don't think it had anything to do with "A QB that can run it right".
-
That's about the only upside. Jay is still capable of getting a good streak of "Jeckyl" at the right time and putting the Bears where they need to be. But ya, I'm certainly starting to sour on him and Trestman both. While I mention Trestman, I really disliked the play calling today. Seemed like most everything was in the middle of the field where they got a fella by the named of Luke Kuechly who is one of the best players in the game. Almost to a point where I thought they were trying to test him.
-
I'm growing sour on Jay, but still don't think McCown would have been the right choice either. Growing sour, but still "Have faith".
-
As much as I hate to admit it, Aaron Rodgers will probably go down as one of the greatest QBs of all time. Last night they showed his TD/INT rate and it was a full point higher than anyone in history.....Comparing Rodgers and Cutler is a little silly. As much as I love Cutler, there's really no comparison there. Jay, IMO is near the top of the 2nd tier of QBs. Probably somewhere in the 7-10 range.
