I know it's short notice, but Bennett will be on the Pete Holmes Show in 30 min (11pm) on TBS. Replay airs at 12:30. Not sure if anyone else watches the show but I personally find him hilarious. Holmes + Bennett should be gold. For those that miss the show I'll try to find a link tomorrow.

I wouldn't go that far. I'd say good tackler but extremely raw. Like Phil said, all his problems from last year are fixable. A better DL, one that can control their gaps, is going to be huge.
-
If thats the way you wanna look at it, fine. I wouldn't call what he was doing in this offense before injury moot though, but that's me. The blame before last year was pretty legit. Aaron Rodgers has always had great weapons.
-
Not likely, but possible IMO. He and McCown combined for 4450 yards which would have been just 28 yards behind Rivers for 5th. Their combined 32 TDs would have been 4th. When you discard the washington game where he had an early exit, Jay averaged 262 YPG, which would have been 10th in the league....that includes the Det game where he was obviously injured. I'm a firm believer that average could have gone way up if he got to play some of those dreadful teams McCown played against. 282 was 5th best.

I can respect that response. When you look at his numbers he was on pace to have a pro bowl season, at least in the NFC anyway. But if you wanna call him average because he got hurt then so be it. I personally go by what he did when he was on the field and won't knock his talent because he got hurt. Staying healthy isn't a talent.

All I said was in was great in coverage, based off PFF he was, and with his past as a safety it's believable. Also said he was a solid tackler which I believe as well. His problem wasn't missed tackles, it was getting in the position to make said tackles.

As long as the D plays like we hope, I don't see why not....That's coming from probably Cutlers biggest fan here though.
-
Shouldn't have expected anything less out of you....Had he not gotten injured he very well coulda made the pro bowl last year.
-
Not an ND fan but from what I remember dude was being praised as the golden boy coming out of High School.....If anyone can get that talent back out of him it's Marc Trestman. Low risk, high reward.
-
He;s been working out with the boys down in FLA so this article comes as no surprise. Wouldn't be shocked if he stays healthy all year this year and makes the pro bowl.
-
Current- Martellus Bennett....Just because it was hard to pick and the dude is bleepin hilarious. All time- Urlacher.....Remember I'm only 26 so I didn't have the pleasure of watching some of the other guys people have listed.

Of course I was

Been saying all offseason that Bostic has a serious chance at MLB. Never thought for a minute Williams would be handed the job like another poster here suggested. He's great in coverage and he's a solid tackler...Taking better angles in the run game can be taught and with MUCH better DL in front of him it's gonna make his job A LOT easier.

Meh, we're built to win this year IMO so I probably wouldn't do it. Now if the draft was tomorrow and they offered 2nd today I'd do it.

My reaction after reading stinger make a spelling joke. Just fuckin with ya pal

You 3 of the 4 games you brought up was a game Cutler was obviously hurt, a game in which he played 2 or 3 drives, and then a game that was wrecked from the get go. Not exactly the best games to bring up. Here's a good write up I read awhile ago and always bring up when my friends say something about it..... 1. Cutler’s first six starts came when the Bears’ offense was in a formative stage under Marc Trestman and Aaron Kromer. It was expected that the offense would grow as the season progressed and that Cutler would grow with it. Sure enough, Cutler’s two best starts statistically were in Games 5 and 6 against the Saints (128.1 passer rating) and the Giants (106.5). McCown picked up the Bears’ offense when it was in a higher gear. His first start was in Game 8 against the Packers. His other starts came in Games 10-12. That’s a big difference in the first year of an offense. 2. Cutler faced opposing defenses in the first six weeks of the season that were fresher and closer to full strength. McCown has had the advantage of attrition — while the Bears have not had one other offensive starter miss a game this season, McCown has faced the Packers without Clay Matthews and Brad Jones; the Ravens without Haloti Ngata, Elvis Dumervil and Josh Bynes; the Rams without Cortland Finegan; and Vikings without Harrison Smith, Erin Henderson and Josh Robinson. 3. McCown has done most of his work against weaker defenses — including the Redskins (22nd in total defense), Packers (21st), Rams (19th) and Vikings (31st). He’s faced only one defense that ranks in the top 10 in total defense (the Ravens, ninth). Cutler faced three defenses that currently rank in the top 10 — the Bengals (eighth), Saints (sixth) and Giants (10th). He also faced the Steelers, who are not the defense they’ve been, but still rank 12th in the NFL in total yards allowed.

I think the CB rotation will be "Matchup based", and by that I think we'll see Jennings on the smaller receiver, wherever that smaller receiver is lined up. If there's a TE playing the slot Fuller will probably matchup against him (He shut down Ebron, who is now with Detroit, in college).

On to the Cutler vs McCown debate! Hurray! We got a guy who is said to be a QB guru/Whisperer in charge of the offense, and we think he made the wrong choice? I woulda backed either choice knowing that Trestman more than likely had a big say in the decision. It's that simple. And McCown got to pile up his numbers against some dreadful defenses.

Saw this one coming. Should be a solid strategy. Williams looking good: Will be interesting to see/hear if he gets involved in the passing game as well. I've always said a burner isn't really needed, but it certainly doesn't hurt. Good to hear, he certainly has the athleticism to find a home there. Will he beat out DJ and Bostic though?? Then what? Not surprised to see Bostic as the one to stay on the field in nickel situations, he was solid dropping into coverage.

Eyes can be deceiving. You see someone have a couple awful games and it kinda "sabotages" your opinion. But I'm not getting into this again....I was hoping to see someone else get in this type of argument.
-
Was that a PFF reference? God I hope we get another PFF argument outta Jason, that was fun last year.... This time we have an interesting plot twist as Stinger joins the analytic side of things....
-
Didn't wanna make a new thread for this and here seems like the best place for it....Brandon Marshall brought up Fendi's name when talking about spreading the ball around this year. It'd be real fun to see him be the guy that breaks out on the offensive side of the ball this year. It'd be hell for opposing defenses to match up with Marshall/Jeffery/Bennett/Onubun.

*sarcasm* Who says I'm makin fun of myself

J'Marcus Webb got another contract!!!! HA! Sorry, it's a slow day here and there's nothing to talk about.
