  1. It sure would make for a dominate offense though. If that's what the offensive guru wants and he plans on utilizing him a lot I wouldn't hate it. I'd much rather grab a DT/S but if Hageman/Tuitt/Jernigan/Nix/Brooks/Joyner are all gone and Amaro or Nikolus are there it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

    Terrator Day 2 Mock

I think that would work for everyone here. Hoping for Hageman/Tuitt over Jernigan but would be fine with him.

    2nd round?

I saw it, but just think Donald is gonna be an absolute monster... As for RD2 the way I see it is only the first 4 DTs stinger listed should be considered. If they're all gone then I'd go Joyner/Brooks. If all 6 are gone somehow and then plan isn't for Fuller(Or Peanut) at FS, which it's not sounding like, then I'd start to consider taking a guy like McGill or Baptiste....If of course Phil thinks they can make that transition to safety.
  4. HEY! That's not who I wanted!! Ha jk freak it.

    Eric Berry???

Supposedly the Chiefs are floating Eric Berry out there for a 2R pick. More than just a few websites are reporting this, but none of them are really mainstream websites. Because of that I'm not really buying it. Also the fact that the Chiefs seemingly don't have an option behind him is another reason to question things. But in the off chance it's true I'd absolutely love for the Bears to make it happen. Hekk I'd give em a 2nd rounder next year too.
  6. I think Tuitt can play either position but projects better inside just because I'm not sure he has the speed around the edge. Ya, Sapp loves Jernigan as a 4-3 NT, not sure how much of a pass rush he'll generate but with the horses outside it might not be a bad idea to add someone like Jernigan who should be really good against the run. Hageman might be the best penetrating DT left, Jernigan is the best run stuffer, and I think Tuitt might be the best well rounded. Nix would be a little interesting as well, at his size he's probably best suited as a 3-4 NT but again with those horses outside having a guy who will demand double teams might not be the worst thing in the world either.
  7. It's also possible Fuller is thought as as a FS...Here's a quote someone posted on soxtalk from a scout... “I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up being a safety,” a second scout said. “He’s just a really good football player from the standpoint he knows what he’s seeing. There were a couple games he played the Will linebacker spot against the option teams. He’s just a smart football player, and he’s got the talent, too. I’m not going to say he can’t play corner in the NFL, but I think he has the potential to be a Pro Bowl-caliber safety, whereas he doesn’t have the elite speed outside, that might hurt him at times out there (at cornerback). Who knows, maybe that scout was from the Bears....Matter a fact, I hope it is, or Phil and this scout share the same thought on him as a pro bowl safety.
  8. Don't sleep on his teammate either, lil Lamarcus Joyner can ball too. Guys like Mcgill and Baptiste are somewhat intriguing as well. Phil did talk about looking at CBs to convert to S so he may have one of those guys in mind....As stinger said, Exum fits this bill as well, and Ed Reynolds is no slouch either. Also gotta throw out my sleeper in Brock Vereen. Right now I'm hoping we come away with (in this order) Hageman/Tuitt/Jernigan/Joyner/Brooks/Nix in the 2nd...If they grab a DT then I'd hope for Joyner/Brooks/McGill/SJB/Reynolds/Vereen/Exum in the 3rd...If they grab safety in the 2nd I'd hope for Jernigan/ Jones/Ego/Reid/Quarles. There's still a lot of intrigue to this.

    Kyle Fuller, CB

Well I'm home...I just don't know how to rationalize it... Sure, the thought of having 3 really good CBs paired with what should be a really improved pass rush is very intriguing but man I'm just a little meh on this. I suppose Emery may have not been blowing smoke when he talked about giving Conte a chance to compete and that he'd like to be talking extension with him. He was passable out there in 2012, and was that helped by a good front 7, sure, but it still proves you can have a good D out there with him on the field. What's going to be real interesting is next round. Nix/Tuitt/Hageman/Jernigan are all still out there, as is Brooks. Does Phil take Brooks or will he go for the much higher rated DT?? I like Brooks, but I think he would be a reach in the 2nd, maybe they can trade down, but then you run the risk of another team grabbing him.
  10. Sigh....I took a brake for this?? Oh well. Wishful thinking but I wish we could move Tillman to FS.
  11. and of course I get called into work...sigh...wrong time to take a job
  12. Manish Mehta ‏@MMehtaNYDN 28m Jets have interest in trading up from No. 18. Teams to keep an eye on: Titans at No. 11 and Bears at No. 14. #nyj Equal value would be a 3rd and a 6th to drop down 4 spots. Depending on who is there, I'd love to make this happen.
  13. This draft is way too deep for that IMO. I've heard numerous times that there is gonna be 2nd round value in the 4th and so on.
  14. Sorry fellas, I had a little side job to do.... With the 81st pick of the draft the Dolphins select....Dakota Dozier OG Furman.....They need to double up on OL pieces, and Dozier is a beast. With the 82nd pick of the draft your Chicago Bears select......Dominique Easley... I KEED I KEED....Bears select Terrance Brooks FS FSU.....Don't think there's any explanation needed. Donald-Hageman-Brooks in the first 3 rounds in real life would be fuckin SICK....
  15. I'm just messin, you did the right thing...Adam has said he won't be around the comp that much so maybe we should even cut his pick time a bit more...Say 4 or 5 hours? It's the 3rd round, I'm sure he won't mind that much
  16. The bold is exactly what I came here to say.
  17. I believe you've gotta buy some upgraded version, which is pretty lame.
  18. Even after adding Golden Tate Lions message boards are still wanting them to add another WR so.....Lions select Paul Richardson WR Colorado. The ever so patient Jason is on the clock
  19. Meh, I just can't get excited about another LB being drafted. I really think Bostic should get another shot at MLB behind a real NFL DL. Throw DJ outside(He's capable of playing any LB position) while SMC continues to learn in practice. If/when DJ goes down SMC steps up. I also don't wanna discount the possibility of Greene getting better as well, loved him coming out of the draft.
  20. Christian Jones and Telvin Smith also failed drug tests. Looks like the FSU boys were passing said million dollar joint around. Anthony Johnson(LSU DT) is another guy who failed.

    WTF moment

Possible, but they did resign Johnson to the practice squad so who knows.
  22. I'm not going off any mocks here just throwing out my ideal mock that seems plausible.... 1R- Aaron Donald- I'm kinda gravitating to the whole S first round thing, but ideally, in my book, they get the most disruptive player in the draft to pair with our shiny new DEs. 2R- Deone Bucannon- I've been a Mundy supporter, but he's not making that much so he won't hurt as quality depth. Versatile enough to play FS as well. 3R- Caraun Reid- I'm calling him as my "WTF pick". May be seen as a bit of a reach, but he looked really good at the Senior Bowl and we're interested. 4R- Stanley Jean Baptiste- Phil has talked about looking at CBs to convert to S, and I think SJB and McGill might be the best options there. Might see Deone at FS with Mundy at SS to begin with but after a little bit of time I'd love to see SJB/Deone at FS/SS for the future. SJB also offers the versatility to play CB should an injury happen. 5R- Aaron Colvin- With Tillman/Jennings/Hayden/Frey and the potential of SJB dropping down to CB, I'd love to take a chance on Colvin who was once viewed as an early round CB before getting hurt. Give him a year to heal and learn from Tillman/Jennings and burst on the scene late this year or next year. 6R- Colt Lyerla- Another risk worth taking. I kinda like going with the high risk/high reward guys in the later rounds. Dude is drawing Gronk comps, and he's friends with Long, who also had past issues who could really end up helping him stay straight. Freaky potential who if he doesn't pan out only costs you a 6R pick. 6R- Tyler Gaffney- I'm really baffled why this kid isn't getting more love. I think he gives the Bears everything they want in a #2. Solid in pass protection, solid hands as a receiver, tough between the tackles runner with excellent size, capable of carrying the load should Forte go down.....Draft stock could be hurt by the fact that he was minor league baseball player and there could be questions about his commitment. Draft has a lot of boom or bust potential, but I really think those guys will "boom". Then grab my NU boy Damien Proby and Ivy league QB Jeff Matthews as 2 of many UDFAs.
  23. Love the thought process here, DT/S/DT/S is something I'd love to see and what I'm thinking for my final mock of the year. I might switch up the names and the back end a bit, but still this is one of my favorites. Also what do you see Webster as? He's a real interesting guy, has worked out at DE/LB/TE for scouts. I'm real intrigued by him as a TE and I suspect that's what you're thinking here as well....He could potentially bring that nasty defensive mentality to the offensive side of the ball and play that H-Back role where he can get out and block a bit. Plus he's a 6'6" basketball player with a 36" vertical. Right now if we grab a TE I have him right behind Colt Lyerla as the guys I want....Both are high risk/high reward type guys who could payoff huge.

    WTF moment

I'm only basing that off last year where they stuck with McCown instead of grabbing someone to groom. I won't deny what Emery said about Palmer/Johnson could very well could be smoke, but I just wouldn't doubt it's the truth as well. If Trestman is ok with Palmer/Johnson then so am I. He's a "QB guru", maybe he just sees something he can fix with these vets to make them successful. Another way I see the QB situation is, depending on how they draft this year there won't be as many "holes" next year. So they very well could end up drafting a QB higher next year.

    Day 2 Safety

I love it but where are we picking up those extra picks?...I don't think they can trade back and still get Donald.
