It is a need pick so i can live with it. Seems like we would be better off trading down but I guess you never know who else is on the list and who might take him. We all know I will always or almost always say trade down, especially when we need to get some more picks to maybe help us move up to ensure we can get the safety we want (and to potentially grab a RB / Speed wideout as those are the two offensive positions I'd like to draft).

Seems like a major reach though which is a Emery trend. I look at reaches as not maximizing value of our pick. If we hit on it, great, we have better scouts and that is awesome, but we also need to leverage that knowledge and move down and take advantage of more options to take advantage of that scouting.

Both the guys on espn saw him as a 4th rounder.

Thats a good pick, I am sorry some of you guys are not knowledgeable enough to know that.

Not at Pick 51, no way, not with Nix and Hyde both available. This is a one year starter who would've been there in the 3rd.

Hope he's good and has good size and tools to work with (will probably rotate in this year). But after having your sights on Aaron Donald, a guy with 5 TFL and 1 sack in his CAREER is a bit of a let down. In Emery we trust I guess.

Kyle Long was a one year-backup, but he turned out good. I would have preferred a few different choices but that doesnt mean this is a bad pick.

We have Ratliff, Collins and Houston that will be playing the 3-T spot. Fegurson will compete with Paea for playing time. 6-3 315 and can put on weight and get stronger. We needed to address the bad run defense and he will change that.

We have enough pass rush, here is where you take the guys that are down and dirty. I am not cheering for this pick but am not bad mouthing it either. He will be a good player, you will know that by the end of the season. Was listening to a scout on the radio and he has great upside to play the both Tackle positions. What you guys need to understand is we wont be the Lovie type defense anymore, it will be system changing sub packages that become the norm, they wont be having the same type of players were use to. We have to adjust to the newer coaches and all the changes we will be going thru.

Yep, and I get that. Ferguson had 58 tackles last year, which is a nice number for a DT and the kind you associate with a run stuffer. Hopefully he can develop some more penetration this year, but we definitely need DTs who can tackle. I don't hate this pick. My only though is, did the Bears have a drastically better grade in him than Nix, Quarles, McCullers, Johnson, Sutton, and other 2-3 round DTs that you had to take Ferguson here with a guy like Brooks and others still on the board?

The guys on the board are not only being passed up by us but other teams too. By several scout run sites I have been looking and he has been rated late 2nd round choice. That is maybe 10 spots sooner that his value dictated it. He has great upside kinda like the Long pick last year. Im telling you guys wont hate this pick one year from now and I will gladly throw it in your faces to pat myself on the back. I havent done yoga for a while so maybe I wont be able to do that.
