jason
I'll bite because I agree with AZ. Jared Allen is old and wayyyy overpaid. Houston was worthless all the way up to the blown out knee. Young just ruptured his Achilles tendon so we don't have anyone that I trust to get after the QB. If you can't get to the QB, nothing else behind that will succeed. If they guys suck at 7, I agree. Then I go blue chip LT or D... I say that based on... -Allen may be all you said, but he can't be cut based on what I've read. Too much $$. So he plays one more year. -Houston and/or Young will be back, which is another DE. I don't like'em a lot either (liked Young before the injury), but getting a DE would be a luxury the Bears can't afford.
madlithuanian
Agreed. We need help at every line in the D, and if the most awseome OL is there....then you take him. We cannot get tricky. We need a pro bowler. If a QB doesn't emerge worthy of our pick, then you need the biggest impact defensive player. Allen may be gone after this year, and Ratliff is getting so every position is fair game to me. The Bears need to think of the future, not building a team for this year.
