'TD'
Wow, that surprises me. It seemed like no one wanted that job.
Bears4Ever_34
Looked like the Jets wanted Quinn two days ago, and the Falcons wanted Bowles all last week. Funny how one day later he ends up with the Jets, and now the Falcons are supposedly hot after Quinn.
Boston Boxer
Damn, i really wanted him for the Bears.
'TD'
I was leary of him as a candidate. He was Mel Tucker bad his one year as DC in Philly in 2012. Actually, he and Mel were tied for 3rd worse with 444 points allowed.

scs787
Hired Chan Bailey as his OC. I would have been fine with a Bowles hire, but not with Chan Bailey as his OC.

'TD'
Leary of Bowles but want Austin, both seem similar to me in experience... It wasn't an experience thing. It was that Bowles' first DC gig in 2012, his defense allowed almost 28 points per game. I mean seriously, they let up the same amount of points as Mel Tucker's Jaguars. I wouldn't have been complaining if he was hired, but I wouldn't have had high expectations. I just have a gut feeling Austin will be an excellent coach. He has an excellent pedigree as a position coach working some really great coaches. He's seen how they run their teams, and in the last 10 years he's been on 3 Super Bowl teams(05-06 Seahawks, 08-09 Cardinals, and 2012-2013 Ravens). I watched some of his interviews, and Austin seems to have a really good personality and genuine guy. Couple all of that with the Lions turn around, and I think he will be an excellent head coach if given a shot.
adam
He was linked with Atlanta and Quinn was linked with the Jets. Interesting twist of events. I also forgot SF is still looking for an HC.
