CrackerDog
According to Fansided the Bears and Cutler restructured his deal on Tuesday freeing up $5 million in cap space. Spotrac shows his deal with a column called Restructure Bonus. See here for Spotrac: http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/chicago-bears/jay-cutler/ See Fansided article here: http://fansided.com/2015/03/25/chicago-bea...-without-agent/ I think Fansided may be wrong since this is the only place reporting it. Jay restricted his deal LAST YEAR at about this time to do exactly what Fansided is saying is happening now. So, I'm confused unless he's done the same type of restructure two years in a row. I'll give him props if indeed he (Jay) did agree to this. This is actually a leadership type of move. Where you recognize the team needs help in building up its resources and only have so much money to use. By doing this its a clear signal, if indeed substantiated, that Jay has the team's interests (not his own) in the forefront. Good for him. I'll be interested in hearing more. Agreed this seems fishy. Why none of the big time insiders are not reporting this?

Well, I think it's something he did LAST YEAR although Fansided is phrasing it like it was done yesterday. I see no evidence of this being doen again this year at Over The Cap or Sportrac unless I'm missing something. I think it's a bust in Fansided's reporting. Its not true, it would have been all over twitter if it actually happened. You CAN NOT believe everything you read. To verify things, you will see many outlets stating it. scs787
Ya, the restructured bonus is from last year. Nothing new here.
CrackerDog
Ya, the restructured bonus is from last year. Nothing new here. Yep. Sorry. If you read the Fansided article it clearly says he did this yesterday. But it's wrong, I'm pretty sure, unless everybody missed this. adam
Yeah and the restructuring can't go back in time and charge the team $1 million in 2014. Here is the report from the exact day last year lol: http://espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/story/_/id/...act-reports-say
