ASHKUM BEAR
Armstead bothers me because he wasnt productive in college. who was the stud we had that could jump out of the pool? but he couldnt play football. Jarron Gilbert! Yeah that was terrible. I would be ok with Armstead in round two. He is a legit first rd prospect. It is his size and athletic ability that has him rated so high. He is project as a Calais Campbell type player. He is raw and if the coaches think they can make him a staple on the d line for 5+ years, then I'd be good with it. scs787
That draft sucks. Wrong WR at 1. Question at 2. No Safety to be seen. IMO White is gonna be the better WR in the long run. Bigger, faster, stronger, much better in traffic, more reliable hands. Route running is the only advantage Cooper has IMO. But ya, not a fan. I do think we should be looking at a CB sooner than 4, and if we don't grab a guy like Stevie Brown we should probably look into a mid round safety to compete with Vereen and Rolle(I'd prefer Rolle at SS, but don't think it's out of the question for him to still play FS)

They both will be great so I guess it doesnt matter that much. I would take either. No Armstead, no Hundley. I think they are better choices. Cooper doesn't really make the contested catches which is the only thing I don't really like. His elite route running will get him open a lot and not have to worry about contested catches that much, but they will happen more in the NFL vs college. His routes are so crisp, so precise, so deceptive, that it's just impossible for a DB to stay on him. Look at his 3 cone drill and 20 yard shuttle, combined with his collegiate production, for proof of this. I haven't seen a college WR get so wide open so often in a long time. It seems that two or three times a game you'd hear, "Amari Cooper, wide open!" I think a good comparison is Steve Smith or Marvin Harrison, guys who broke out of routes so hard that the DBs never really knew which way they were going until the last second. Meanwhile, White rarely seems to get that wide open, instead using his athleticism to out-run or out-jump the opponent. That works against college guys incredibly well, but everyone in the NFL is a superior athlete. Unless you're Randy Moss or a handful of other guys at most, that dwindles. The success rate for those guys is less likely than a guy with superior technical skills. When White slows down, loses a few inches on his vertical, or whatever, Cooper is still going to be putting DBs on roller-skates.
jason
As a side note, that breakdown would suck for the Bears. Each round would seem like somewhat of a reach for the positions the Bears need. I've looked at it, and I can't make a draft I would like a lot that doesn't have a reach or two.
