DABEARSDABOMB
Good pick. No complaints there. Still would have liked Gregory and taken the risk but I understand. I also just heard he weighed in at like 218 or something absurdly low.

scs787
Eddie..and I hate you lol spoiler alert! I love it though. Would have liked Fisher, but a d lineman that can take on double teams was right up there with OT.

Might as well line him up at LB, that's where he'll end up being pushed to. * Edit: This article lists him as 320 which looking at his picture, makes more sense. http://www.tallahassee.com/story/sports/co...draft/21697401/ And since Dick Butkus likes the pick, so do I. Although I don't know much about him. Only 27 starts. that could be a good and a bad thing.

Here's why we didn't take Danny Shelton

Here's why we didn't take Danny Shelton Yep; Fits a major need in the 3-4 defense and seems to have the right skill sets. I wouldn't have wanted Shelton that early and this works out nicely. ASHKUM BEAR
Also this can put to rest that Fangio prefers smaller DTs.
Bears4Ever_34
Was hoping for Gregory but this pick makes sense. Nice draft from Ryan Pace so far. Much better than his predecessor..
scs787
Also this can put to rest that Fangio prefers smaller DTs. Lol yup. Justin Smiths ability to take on double teams made it possible for him to go with smaller guys. I know hes being called a 2 down player but I say hogwash. He wont provide a pass rush but by having him out there taking on 2 blockers he's making the guys who do provide a pass rush jobs easier. I wouldn't be surprised in the least bit if Fangio makes him an everydown player. When they use their 2-4-5 alignment Id like to see him and McDonald out there...in the base 3-4 we got McDonald-Goldman-Ratliff/Ego/Houston/Sutton/Jenkins. One of those guys should be able to handle the 2nd DE spot.

I really feel like we've drafted two potential opening day starters. I'd also add that the two positions we neglected the most in free agency were DT and WR. No smokescreens. Bears4Ever_34
Supposedly this kid can play anywhere on the D-Line. Fangio loves versatility so this pick doesn't surprise.

As for playing anywhere, he's 6-4 336. There's only one position he's playing at that weight.

adam
Pace almost surgical at this point. I like the pick, I was thinking names (Gregory, Fisher), but Goldman makes too much sense, and some had him late first round.
scs787
Real good article on Goldman here. www.sbnation.com/nfl/2015/4/30/8504905/eddie-goldman-2015-nfl-draft-interview-profile-florida-state Interesting that he wore #90 in honor of Ratliff. Sounds like a real good kid, like him even more after reading that.

Looking at Goldman, I think he is perfect. Little longer arms than Shelton and didn't cost us a dynamic playmaker. Now find a DB, OT, or C. lemonej
The questions about my choice Phillips motor may have had him behind Goldman on the Bears board. So 1 for 1 on first pick 2 for 2 on positions.

jason
Word has it the Bears coaching staff contacted Goldman before the pick. He was under a bridge with a club terrorizing children. He's a monster.

AZ54
I like this pick. If nothing else running against a front of Ferguson, Goldman, McDonald/Ratliff is not going to be easy for any team. ILB will have plenty of room to roam and make plays.
