I tend to agree. I know people don't like the PFF stats, but they are there FWIW. I remember a few years back I brought up the pressure productivity stats and people questioned it because a guy named Jerry Hughes was near the top of that list. A lot of people were like who the hell is Jerry Hughes, and that list lost all credibility with Jerry Hughes being on it. 2 years later Jerry Hughes has racked up 19.5 sacks. Those aren't great numbers or anything but still, it shows these things hold some weight. I'd be shocked if he McPhee doesn't get double digit sacks. AZ54
Everything we've heard about McPhee is good. He's not an explosive edge rusher but he's probably more like Michael Bennet of the Seahawks, perhaps a bit more athletic. He might be what we thought, or hoped, Houston would be. I dont think he is a blossoming stud, but like you said will be a quality player getting between 12 and 15 sacks a year

I read everything I can and Matt Bowen is a smart guy, listen to him on the score all the time.

BearFan2000
Dude, 12 to 15 sacks a year is a friggen stud! especially for the Bears lol How many guys have we had that could give us 12-15 a year with any consistency from year to year. We had guys have breakout years only to disappear the following year after our hopes were up. We've brought in guys who previously were prolific pass rushers who seemed to somehow get neutered wearing the blue and orange.

But seriously, 12 to 15 sacks puts him anywhere from the top 10 in the NFL to the top 5 (based on last year's regular season) so I'd say that's pretty studly. And I'll take it! BearFan2000
definitly! I'll take as many of these 12-15 guys as we can get. Time will tell once training camp gets underway, preseason, and then when the games count. I think it's going to take some time to see what kind of identity our defense will have and who will surface as studs and who will be the duds. So many ? at nearly every position. Lots of bodies have been brought in so it's hard to tell but also excited to see what our D will look like with Fangio at the helm. That alone gives me more hope/confidence than I've had in recent years.
