dawhizz
Another veteran with starting experience signed to a 1-year deal, though he hasn't been very good since his Super Bowl heroics. Hopefully one younger guys beats him out (Bryce Callahan, Jacoby Glenn, Demontre Hurst, Al Louis-Jean), but provides some decent insurance. I think there throwing a bunch of darts at the board and seeing which ones stick. Agree with you as far as younger guys ascending and wont need some of the older vets. ParkerBear7
I would of rather kept Tillman. But Porter is insurance which is good. I also hope a youngster steps up big this season

I also hope a youngster steps up big this season Tillman was one of the good guys but would not have been cheap, but would play cheap somewhere else. As much as I liked him, he will be injured this year and would have been a lost roster spot.
madlithuanian
The parting needed to happen... He will retire a Bear and will always be a Bear. BearFan2000
The parting needed to happen... He will retire a Bear and will always be a Bear. Agree, and honestly, I was surprised he signed the one year deal last season to play another year in Chicago. Was fully prepared for the parting to happen last offseason. Can't respect the guy enough really embodied everything you would want in a pro on and off the field. Will always think of him as a Bear and one of my favorite Bears. Class act all the way. I think every player has a life expectancy and when its his time, I have no problem letting go.Will have fond memories and look for the new guy to root for. That's the reality of the NFL.
