Or am I thinking of an earlier play? Nice win on the road. This team is close. 3-5 but 3 of those losses were by a combined 13 points and one was because Jimmy Clausen is an awful QB. BearFan2000
What a great team win, we owned the game in the second half. Two huge long TD drives in the 3rd and the 4th quarters we controlled the clock and the score board. Hats off to the D for standing tall in the final drive by the Chargers. Back to back sacks by Houston followed by two big pass breakups to seal the win. This is huge. It's one thing to be competitive but find ways to lose but it's a growing step to start to find ways to win these close games. Now a little perspective we had to have a big second half to come back and beat a 2-5 Chargers team so its not like we just knocked off a contender but these kind of wins build character and a culture of winning. We fans and the Bears know they should have won 2-3 of the games they lost because they found ways to lose. Bears are only 3-5 but are already far more entertaining to watch than last year where I pretty much stopped subjecting myself to that dumpster fire that was the 2014 Bears. I see growth and I like it. Not perfect by any means had we played better in the first half we could have won this handily. An additional note this is a double win for me. My Bears come up with a big win, and that last Defensive stand literally won me the biggest fantasy win of the season so far. I was leading my matchup 161.24 to 124.72 going into tonight and needed Philip Rivers to be held under roughly 36 points (our leagues scoring causes QB scores to be a bit higher than normal). My opponent was sitting at around 159 before the sack, sack, incomplete, incomplete that knocked his final score back to 155.92 It was a stressful final drive for the Bears fan in me and the fantasy owner in me. Happy for both wins.

Great win, the defense only allowed 13 pts, and the offense had some huge drives and 3 TDs. If Gould hits those FGs, it wouldn't have even been close. dawhizz
I almost posted during that last Chargers drive "it's going to be hard to win this game without any impact defensive plays" because at the time the Bears had 0 ints, 0 TFL and 0 sacks. Good on Hoiston to step and Aldo not get injured during his celebrations.

Chitownhustla
Not having a 'pick six' might have made a difference too. ? Was that suppose to be a back shoulder throw??? Was there contact between Alshon and the defender? Was that the classic WHY DID CUTLER TJROW THAT PASS INTO TRIPLE COVERAGE? I'm fine with that throw and INT, no QB is perfect. I love Cutler's response to the INT, he went back to work and lead the Bears to victory. Cutler was great last night. I know you can't stand it but he was. I hope Cutler continues to prove you wrong. It was not a bad decision. INT's happen. I can accept this type of a INT. The INT thst results from throwing into double and triple coverage is the kind that I don't want to see. Even the fumble Jay had both hands on it. He wasn't being careless with the ball. The DE made a great play. These types of plays happen. If jay had been careless with the ball I would be pissed. Yeah absolutely. However, at first glance, the pass looked errant, and way outside, but if you see it from the other angles, you can see Alshon was pulled off his spot and lost balance stumbling forward before trying to jump back and reach the pass. This would be similar to a receiver falling down on a route and the defender in perfect position to intercept. My problem with the play was that Verrett was not flagged for either holding or illegal contact. On the fumble, he just needs to learn how to pull it into his gut when it comes out. I'm with you on the decision making. At the end of the day you have to find a QB you can win with and I think playing as he is now Cutler can be that guy. It is interesting there is a sticking point for AG no matter what on that route it had to be Cutler's bad decision and Jeffrey, or the defensive PI, had no culpability whatsoever. Even if you want to go down the route of Cutler killed the team with the Pick 6, it's easy to find many other culprits who made equally critical bad plays from Robbie Gould missing two FG, Jeffrey dropped a sure TD pass that hit him in the hands, among other dropped passes. Acho and the defense blew a coverage that gave up an easy TD. Kyle Long took points off the board with a 15 yard penalty, not his only penalty by the way. OTOH I get the fact that your QB is a leader on the team and shouldn't put the team in a bad spot. Then again he also led them back to a win in the 2nd half. Review the list of QBs with more INTs than Cutler this season and it's a who's who among future HofF QBs, Pro Bowl QBs, or 1st Rd draft pick QBs (except for 2): Peyton, Luck, Stafford, Bortles, Bradford, (Cousins), Newton, Tannehill, Flacco, Brees, (Fitzpatrick), Rivers, Matt Ryan, Winston, Bridgewater, Eli, Palmer, Roethlisberger, Wilson, and then Cutler. There is more to the story of any QBs play than just INTs of course but by any measure that's a pretty good list of QBs widely respected around the league. The alternative among "good" QBs is to end up with a guy like Alex Smith who will consistently have good QBR numbers and low INTs but consistently won't throw TDs and stretch the field. I don't think you win big games with a guy like that unless you really have an elite defense, in which case you can have Trent Dilfer as your QB. There are just two players of note that aren't ahead of Cutler on INTs: Rodgers and Brady and both of them have been in the same offense for at least a decade. Two recent 1st RD picks that standout are Derek Carr and especially Mariota.
