At first I thought; 'wow only $60 next year'? then I considered Lauvilin was to blame. ? And Ghostbusters was from '85? Holy smokes I feel old. adam
With some expected cuts (Bushrod-$4.3/Rolle-$3) and potential trades (Bennett-$5.2), we could be over $70 million if we want to be. Either way, some nice flexibility. I would also have to think free agents will be more inclined to sign here with the new regime compared to Emery/Trestman era. As the cap goes up, so does the contacts. We will have 34 players under contract and I would think to keep any kind of faith between players and the organization, you have to reward the players who's contracts are up that have played well. Jeffery, Porter are two that stand out the most. Looking at Sportrack, them too could easily eat 20+. After taking care of our own first that we feel deserving, I can see 20 left to mingle with. Looking at current contracts by position, I can see Jeffery getting something around 12mil, SMC around 3mil, Mundy the same 1.5mil, Porter maybe 3mil, then guys like Jenkins, Acho, Unrein, Miller and Prosinski about 1-2mil. That would be $30mil, leaving $30-$40mil before the rookie pool. Also, totally off topic but related.....for the longest time, I thought the site was sportrac, and it is actually spotrac. Ha, you are correct on spotrac. Porter and McClellin I think will take a little more. I figured ILB's going rate at 4yr 20, CB may take a little more. Porter may be 3 yr 18. madlithuanian
Ha! I forgot the "M"! The reference of Murray is from Caddyshack...not from 85 (I think 1980), but the quote is applicable! At first I thought; 'wow only $60 next year'? then I considered Lauvilin was to blame. ? I originally thought it was Caddyshack but then thought Stripes (or you were a "Chiver"). Hell all of these are from the early 80's and I still feel old. adam
Add Gould to the list for cap space, there is no way in hell we can pay him $4.1 to miss FGs and to not kick balls out of the back of the end zone next year. I would rather use the $2.9mil on a rookie kicker and another position of need.

scs787
Agreed on Gould. Use one of the 3 6th rounders on a kicker.
