No call when Cutler gets slammed to the ground

I can get on board with that. But, it's not about the entitled, "Jordan rules", poster boys. My point is about legal hit or not. Plain and simple the tackle was legal per the rules. I've looked at it over and over and see nothing malicious at all. We didn't get screwed, we just didn't get preferential treatment.

Mongo,

Take a look at this play, almost exactly what happened to Cutler, and the defender was penalized: https://www.facebook.com/NFLonFOX/videos/977454565626017/

He was penalized and fined: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/...darren-sproles/

You can't lift a player off the ground and slam them to the ground.

On the Cutler slam, that is not a tackle, he is literally flinging him over his hip with all his weight lifting him off the ground. Hard for me to believe the official standing in the shot could not see that.

For the facemask, are you talking about Rodgers or some other call on Brady?

Cutler play-It was a slam, but the momentum of the play was headed that way. There is interpretation involved with whether it was the momentum of swinging him around or an actual pick up and solely a slam. Sometimes when a tackle is made, a defender ends up behind, pulling backwards, and needs to pull upward. That, in and of itself, is not a foul.

Rodgers-The last call live looked like a facemask. Turns out no fingers got inside the mask. Pure missed call. Shit happens.

This should have been a penalty by the league view on protecting the QB. Anyone who says it is legal clearly has an issue with Cutler. I have listened to numerous radio shows and no one has stated it was a legal play.

And I agree that Cutler will probably need decapitating before getting a penalty called unless Suh is the offending player.

I can't find video of the play. Can you?

That's not even close to what I saw. 1) he didn't grab Cutler as high. The defender was actually lower. 2) didn't lift Cutler as high. 3) The player tackling Sproles had other options, the guy tackling Cutler was losing him via momentum.

It simply did not look intentional or malicious. Again, if he gets fined as the other player did, I will concede. Until then...

i'm sorry but that was an intentional move to injure the qb. he had control of cutler if he wanted to make a conventional tackle. he actually LIFTED him up and reverse slammed his upper body and head into the turf using cutlers momentum to cause injury. very similar to a judo throw or a suplex if you are a wrestling fan... http://prowrestling.wikia.com/wiki/Suplex

you can say anything you want but it was malicious intent to cause injury.

I can't find the video, but I will see if I can find a Vine or Tweet about it. I just remember the call, that the defensive player cannot lift the ball carrier off his feet and slam him to the ground.

If you watch the Cutler video, you can see Cutler looking right at the camera with Tartt around his waist, then he is literally whipped over Tartt's hip and onto his back and head. Again, 10+ years ago, this was a tackle, but in the day and age when they are protecting QB's, I can't see how this wasn't a penalty.

The whole "can't lift..." Is not really a rule, and is up for serious interpretation. It is not cut and dry like you keep presenting it. Even when what's his face said it, he was speaking specifically towards the type of slam in that play. Not all plays where a player gets lifted up.
