Bears vs Lions Week 17 Gamethread

Refs again, Mariani clearly hit after 5 yards (he was shouldered and actually spun around), but no call. Bears settle for FG. Still need a TD to win, so unless the defense can stop the Lions, it looks like that was the ballgame.

and INT #3, Ansah hits him again. 6-10.

I wonder what Anseh did to piss Cutler off. He clearly was lucky Long came into to break that up. lol

Oline is clearly a major NEED

Defense is clearly a major NEED

WR depth may be a need if Alshon is gone.

Would like to see Forte back but I dont think it will happen.

I really love or OC and DC. I hope we keep them both next season. Gase's name is being mentioned for every possible HC opening.

With who was available, and the situation with impending draft position, the game couldn't have ended any better for the Bears. The fought hard, showed grit, a few guys got to shine, and Gase showed he could take a really bad hand and put together a decent scheme.

Two tipped balls for INTs, that's the difference. Just poor luck is all. Those kind of breaks don't go your way when you're starting three UDFA at WR and one 7th rounder.

One thing is certain, I'd like to see Mariani back as the slot receiver. Say goodbye to Royal.

Surprisingly, I agree. Royal isn't worth the headache of his health issues, and Mariani, despite how atrocious he is at punt returning, is a decent slot receiver. He's one of those pesky guys with just enough speed, dexterity, and intelligence to zig when the opponent zags. He gets open and has relatively good hands.

Agreed 100%. We have the 11th pick in the first and move up to #8 in the second round. We would have been picking 16th if we had won.

Peace :dabears

'There's a disturbance in the force'. I was actually going to say none of the turnovers today were totally the fault of Cutler. Although there were three and one of them was in the red zone I didn't see how he was to blame. That first one was total bad luck. He threw it high and away so that hopefully the WR got it but if not it would have gone out of bounds. Instead the coverage had the hand and interceptor in the right place at the right time.

Completely agree. Both INTs were just bad luck combined with good defensive play by the opponent. Now if I could just get you on board with the draft thing.
