He sort of reminds me of the Amos pick. I don't know in what round he is rated in but would seem like a solid sleeper mid-round pick at Safety. http://www.nfl.com/draft/2016/profiles/sean-davis?id=2555386 Walter Football has him going at #86 in the 3rd round. With the exception of Suh, the top guys either got tagged or signed extension. With the cap continually rising, the franchise tag seems to be a little behind. There's lots of help available for the Bears. If we front load deals, we can continue to be top 3 in salary cap and be players again next year. Granted we'll likely be giving Kyle Long the franchise tag. The one good thing about sucking in the draft is you don't have to worry about contract extensions. He's aggressive, has a little violence to him when he hits people and he usually wraps up on tackles and not afraid to square up on a guy when he can. His hustle on plays away from him, even breakaways all the way down field, is nice to see. Having been moved around quite a bit on his college team he's probably not solid at either CB or FS but he should offer some good versatility in coverage with TEs or RBs with that 4.46 speed. While CB might not be his best fit, fact is he can be an emergency backup at CB and that kind of vesatility is nice to have on the roster. He plays gunner on special teams too so the Bears can feel like he'll contribute early while he learns how to play in the NFL. Give him a couple years under Fangio and Co. and I think he can become a pretty good FS. Taking him with our 3rd wouldn't bother me at all. I like him a lot more than Killebrew. Target one guy they find to be a big time impact player who can help fill a major hole. Berry clearly could have been that guy, but so could Trevathan. Outside of that, I think we look for guys we think we can plug in to be solid players and / or see some upside in. I think we should focus on resigning Long and ensuring we have cap space a year from now when we are ideally closer (that isn't to say we shouldn't go for it now), just that we need to be careful. I see too many franchises that have 6 or 7 wins spend a bunch in free agency thinking it will be a cure and instead of helping it actually puts them in a worse position as they overpaid, jacked up there cap, and clearly didn't have the right talent evaluation. Someone I think Pace would target, if available. He fills a need and as you said AZ, seems pretty versatile. I also liked the Special Teams experience, which is crucial for mid-round picks. I haven't heard a thing about Rolle. Adrian Amos is the starter at free safety. He was good there but not at strong. If Rolle is on the roster, it's presumed he's the starter. That would mean we are bringing in a back-up or a guy to push the starters. We wouldn't be interested in any of the top in safety free agents. Is Rolle a Bear in 2016?
